Hello,
Can you please tell me how to reconfigure gstreamer? I am using Xfce4. I
don't even have gnome-media installed (that's package where
gstreamer-properties binary is).

By the way, I did not change anything in my system configuration. All
others programs and video players are working fine. Only Banshee is
crashing every couple of hours. I am not using Jack, I have default
Xfce4 sound system.

 You're still fairly obviously using Jack as your gstreamer output sink,

 What sound sink is selected in gstreamer-properties, and does the test
 button work?
 $ gstreamer-properties
 bash: gstreamer-properties: command not found

 gstreamer-properties is helpfully provided by the gnome-media package.
 If its dependency chain isn't too long, try installing that.

I already checked it, but sure this problem can be resolved in other
way. gnome-media wants:

0 packages upgraded, 136 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 86.4 MB of archives. After unpacking 232 MB will be used.

Sure I am not going to mess with my nice, working Xfce4 like that. All
applications are playing sound without problem, even Wine with some old
Windows games.

 If you don't want to install that, try testing your current gstreamer
 config on the command line:

 gst-launch-0.10 playbin2 uri=file:///path/to/some/music.m4a

Thank you! I had to install gstreamer-tools first, as this is also not
needed on Xfce4, I have result:

$ gst-launch-0.10 playbin2 uri=file:///home/pioruns/Music/x.mp3

I pressed CTRL+C. File is playing *absolutely fine*.

As I am using plain Xfce4 Debian Testing, so this crashes are affecting
everyone who is using Banshee on this environment, looks like.

Thanks for your help!

Bug#706425: libglib2.0-0: libglib-2.0.so.0.3600.1 segfault and logging out of xfce4-session

2013-06-01 Thread pioruns
Package: xfce4-session
Version: 4.8.3-3
Followup-For: Bug #706425

When this package will be available in testing? This bug affect me as well.
Is there any workaround?

When I tried to upgrade xfce4-session from testing to unstable version, that's
what I got:

The following NEW packages will be installed:
  libxfce4util6{a} [4.10.1-1] +142 kB
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libexo-1-0 [0.6.2-5 - 0.10.2-2]  libgarcon-common [0.1.12-1 - 0.2.1-1]
+6,144 B  libxfce4ui-1-0 [4.8.1-1 - 4.10.0-2] +297 kB
  xfce4-session{b} [4.8.3-3 - 4.10.1-1] -1,016 kB  xfce4-settings [4.8.3-2
- 4.10.1-1] +511 kB
5 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 275 not upgraded.
Need to get 2,521 kB of archives. After unpacking 59.4 kB will be freed.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 xfce4-session : Breaks: xfce4-utils but 4.8.3-2 is installed.
 exo-utils : Depends: libexo-1-0 (= 0.6.2-5) but 0.10.2-2 is to be installed.

Bug#769889: dconf-CRITICAL: unable to create file '/run/user/1000/dconf/user': Permission denied. dconf will not work properly.

2015-11-13 Thread pioruns
I just experienced this problem on Debian Jessie AMD64 with MATE.
mate-panel process devoured 16GB of RAM and 15GB of swap, I had to
reboot PC from terminal.
on ~/.xsession-errors file I found never-ending stream of error messages:
(mate-panel:1490): dconf-CRITICAL **: unable to create file
'/run/user/1000/dconf/user': Permission denied. dconf will not work
properly.

I applied chmod:
chmod u+rx /run/user/1000/gvfs

Result of command you asked (after chmod):
pioruns@debian-desktop:~$ ls -l /run/user/1000/dconf/user
-rw--- 1 pioruns pioruns 2 Nov 13 22:28 /run/user/1000/dconf/user

Will this chmod resolve problem, it won't back again? What is a source
of this problem?

Hello,

I can confirm this bug is still present in widelands version 1:18-3+b1,

Any plans that this could be imported to Debian?

No, I haven't reported it anywhere else apart from here. I am not a
developer. How can I do "proper core dump / backtrace"?

Bug#949973: firmware-realtek: kernel error caught

2020-01-27 Thread pioruns
Package: firmware-realtek
Version: 20190114-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?

Was plugging and unplugging ethernet cable a lot, as I was configuring and
installing a new device in my network. I used my laptop to configure the
device.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Error has been caught during the process of plugging and unplugging ethernet
cable. Each time debian was trying to get me connected, I had DHCP enabled and
sometimes disabled.
   * What was the outcome of this action?

1. Error has been logged in the dmesg
2. Connecting to ethernet network is very slow on my laptop. I remember it
being so blazingly fast on Windows, and on other Linux distros. But now, with
my current system it takes several seconds to get me connected to DHCP server
and get me online

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

1. There should be no errors in dmesg at all
2. Connecting to my network should be faster

Problem has not occured again so far. It happened during normal
operation, not during boot, as you can see in dmesg log, it happened in
3454 seconds into uptime.

Any idea which part of kernel/or package is generating this messages?

Bug#948358: (no subject)

2020-01-13 Thread pioruns
Thank you.

I have following in rules.d/60:

$ grep -E "scsi_id|cdrom_id" /lib/udev/rules.d/60-*
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-cdrom_id.rules:ENV{DISK_EJECT_REQUEST}=="?*",
RUN+="cdrom_id --eject-media $devnode", GOTO="cdrom_end"
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-cdrom_id.rules:IMPORT{program}="cdrom_id
--lock-media $devnode"
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage.rules:KERNEL=="sd*[!0-9]|sr*",
ENV{ID_SERIAL}!="?*", IMPORT{program}="scsi_id --export --whitelisted
-d $devnode", ENV{ID_BUS}="scsi"
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage.rules:KERNEL=="cciss*",
ENV{DEVTYPE}=="disk", ENV{ID_SERIAL}!="?*", IMPORT{program}="scsi_id
--export --whitelisted -d $devnode", ENV{ID_BUS}="cciss"
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage-tape.rules:SUBSYSTEM=="scsi_generic",
SUBSYSTEMS=="scsi", ATTRS{type}=="8", IMPORT{program}="scsi_id
--sg-version=3 --export --whitelisted -d $devnode", \
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage-tape.rules:KERNEL=="st*[0-9]|nst*[0-9]",
ENV{ID_SERIAL}!="?*", IMPORT{program}="scsi_id --whitelisted --export
--device=$env{.BSG_DEV}", ENV{ID_BUS}="scsi"

So I run following commands:

/lib/udev/cdrom_id --eject-media /dev/sr0
/lib/udev/cdrom_id --lock-media /dev/sr0
/lib/udev/scsi_id --export --whitelisted -d /dev/sr0
/lib/udev/scsi_id --sg-version=3 --export --whitelisted -d /dev/sr0

None of them returned any error in dmesg so far.
