In the recent up coming glibc-2.3.2.ds1-21, two system call,
sched_setaffinity and sched_getaffinity, are changed. New interface
needs three argument (OTOH, glibc 2.3.2.ds1-20 has only two
arguments). The new upstream schedutils 1.4.0 is already released and
it uses new three-argument style system calls.
If you plan to dupload schedutils 1.4.0, you rebuild package with
glibc 2.3.2.ds1-21 and dupload it. Don't forget to update
Build-Depends: libc6 (= 2.3.2.ds1-21) in debian/control. If you plan
to change for the current 1.3.4 and dupload it, please apply my
attached patch, and dupload it.

I thought I had done this for both, but apparently not. Linking against ldap_r fixed an issue in nss-ldap previously, so my intent is to change libpam-ldap to also link against ldap_r (like libnss-ldap). I hope to upload a fixed package this evening. Also, doing this fixed the problem for the bug submitter (we discussed it on IRC and he tested having libpam-ldap linked against ldap_r and that fixed his problem with the libnss-ldap package in unstable). So if you were unable to reproduce it, maybe it's the right thing to tag it as unreproducible and lower the severity? Bug#297980: gnat-gps: starting compilation terminates X session

I ran gnat-gps under strace too, but couldn't spot the problem with ioctl. I will investigate in the gnat-gps sources and tell you where I think the problem is. Package: quagga Severity: grave Tags: sid Since the addition of the confmodule inclusion in the postinst, it never finishes after having started the Quagga daemons (I run zebra, bgpd, and ospfd). This is due to misdesign in Debconf that's unlikely to be fixed soon, see #50595. There's two ways you can fix this: 1) Explicitly call db_stop in the postinst. 2) Stop including confmodule, it serves no purpose anyway. (Lintian should be ignored, it's obviously wrong here.) I've set the severity to RC as it's the only change since 0.98.3-1, and -2 doesn't change anything except adding this bug, so there's as far as I can see no good reason to let it replace 0.98.3-1 in Sarge (but one very good reason to stop it from doing so; preventing Sarge from including this very bug). When trying to build 'libitext-java' in a clean chroot with
a j2sdk1.4-{sun,ibm,blackdown} package installed,
I get the following error:

So if you were unable to reproduce it, maybe it's the right thing to tag it as unreproducible and lower the severity? If not, I would take other suggestions on how to fix it. It's certainly not unreproducible. Bug#305412: patch for p2c segfault
I ran p2c under valgrind with Zdenek's code, which revealed two memory
management errors: a double free in decl.c and freeing of memory still
in use in parse.c. The attached patch just comments out the offending
free's.

I did try to build snes9x-x on alpha, but the resulting binaries were unusable, so I won't be uploading them... Only installing rsync 2.6.4 (I actually copied the binary from Debian to Fedora Core 1) resolved the problem. So, rsync 2.6.4 only works with rsync 2.6.4, and this renders the package almost unusable because most remote osts run different (older) versions of rsync. The version of libtool used to build this source package is too old to
correctly support shared libraries for the Debian mips and mipsel
architectures. Debian versions 1.5-2 and 1.4.2-7 and higher correctly
support them. You need to update all of the libtool related files by
running the following on your source tree:
autoreconf --force
You may need to use the --install option as well. You can also try the
individual commands needed yourself:
libtoolize --force --copy
aclocal
autoheader
automake -a
autoconf
autoheader may not be needed, and you may need to use versioned binaries
(autoconf2.13, automake-1.{4,6,7}, aclocal-1.{4,6,7}, etc)
The correct 'configure' script will have output that looks like this:

Older versions of libtool used a file_magic check for the pattern
file_magic ELF [0-9][0-9]*-bit [LM]SB (shared object|dynamic lib )
The output of file(1) on a shared library on MIPS does not match this
regular expression, however. Earlier versions of file had been
modified to match this regular expression, but the latest version uses
the same output as upstream once again. The file check often causes
problems, and results on a build-dep on file that you might not
otherwise be aware of. The new method doesn't need file(1) at all,
and is far less fragile, so it is best to upgrade the configure script
with proper mips support.
