This rebuild was done with gcc 4.3 instead of gcc 4.2, because gcc 4.3 is now the default on most architectures (even if it's not the case on i386 yet). Consequently, many failures are caused by the switch to gcc 4.3. If you determine that this failure is caused by gcc 4.3, feel free to downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built on i386, and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with gcc 4.2). Package: flashplugin-nonfree Version: 1:1.4 Severity: grave Tags: security Justification: user security hole Adobe Flash Player is prone to an unspecified remote code-execution vulnerability. Bug#483200: Breaks suspend on a HP 6701b
Package: hotkey-setup Version: 0.1-21 Severity: serious As said in the subject. hotkey-setup breaks suspend (or actually resume) on a HP 6701B. The hotkey-setup sets the DOS entry of the acpi video bits to 4 (which is a bit odd in itself as it's defined as a 2 bit value afaik). Unfortunately some machines are quite sensitive to this value, with the setting to 4 the machine doesn't come back from suspend when suspending under X. See http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6001 for more braindamage with regards to this. Bug#482303: luatex: getpwnam() implicitly converted to pointer
On 22.05.08 Taco Hoekwater ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) wrote: dann frazier wrote: Hi Taco, Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64. Function `getpwnam' implicitly converted to pointer at ../../../src/texk/kpathsea/tilde.c:103 This is often due to a missing function prototype definition. For more information, see [2]. luatex provides its own pwd.h file which is getting included instead of the system pwd.h file and does not include a prototype for getpwnam(). If the luatex pwd.h file is not available in the include path, the system one gets properly included: Thanks, I have come up with a solution where luatex is using the system-wide pwd.h except while crosscompiling for win32 (that is what the file was there for). The problem meanwhile causes an FTBFS (fails to build from source) on ia64. I've seen a patch in the SVN (Revision 1279), which seems to address the problem. Can we check it out and use it to work around the problem? Hilmar -- sigmentation fault -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#482915: texlive-doc-en: No license info for some fontinst documentation
From: Ulrik Vieth [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Fontinst] License of the fontinst documentation To: Taco Hoekwater [EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: Frank Küster [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 00:53:50 +0100 Taco Hoekwater wrote: Frank Küster wrote: But there's also files in the talks subdirectory for which no source is currently available. Do you know about the license situation for them, or should I try to contact Ulrik or Taco? And, for that matter, I guess roadmap.eps has been created with MetaPost - do you happen to have the sources available? I completely forgot I helped with that talk. The documents were prepared by Ulrik (I do not have sources and am not an author). Hi Frank, I prepared the documents for a presentation at EuroTeX 99 and Taco assisted with the presentation. Therefore his name was on it as well. As for licensing, I never bothered to define any specifc license for the documents. As far as I know, they have been available on CTAN since fontinst-prerelease-1.914 in November 1999. (I just checked the CTAN CD 2000, which shows a filedate of Nov 16 1999 for doc/talks.) As for sources, I may still have them somewhere on my local machine, but they were never released, partly because the fonts required to typeset the documents are non-free (Lucida Bright) and partly because the PDF doucments are the final form intended for consumption. As for roadmap.eps, the diagram was presumably created by Alan Jeffrey and has been part of earlier fontinst distributions since 1995. The orignal source of the EPS may have been created with xfig, since the archive copy of fontinst-1.504 contains a file roadmap.fig along with roadmap.eps, which can be found here: ftp://ftp.tug.org/historic/fonts/utilities/fontinst/fontinst-1.504/doc/ Please let me know, if you need and further statement of clarification regarding the licensing isseue. Can we check it out and use it to work around the problem? Sure, I see no problem with that. It is just a build issue, after all. Because luatex is still beta software (as best), I am not eager to undertake such backports myself, I hope you understand that. But I certainly have no problem with you patching it. Bug#467482: libswish-api-common-perl: FTBFS with Perl 5.10 (typo in Makefile.PL)
tags 467482 + patch, pending thanks Hi, I am including here a (very trivial) patch fixing this FTBFS. In the process of fixing it, a second FTBFS appeared - so I am including it as well. Bug#483284: please build depend on libxerces-c2-dev
Package: xqilla Severity: serious Please update your build dependency on libxerces28-dev to one on libxerces-c2-dev instead. I will soon be requesting removal of the xerces28 packages. libxerces-c2-dev is just a rename of libxerces28-dev, so this should be a completely trivial change. This represents the next-to-last step of the transition to the new xerces packaging. Starting when 3.0.0 enters unstable (it is still in beta in experimental), the libxerces-c-dev package will always point to the latest xerces-c development package in the archive. When your upstream provides a package that works with xerces-c 3, you can change your dependency to either libxerces-c-dev or libxerces-c3-dev, depending on whether you want to automatically try the next major release when it comes out (which could be years away). If you'd like an NMU, please let me know, and I'd be happy to oblige. I'll be requesting removal of xerces28 soon. -- Jay Berkenbilt [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
