The OCSP functionality in stunnel before 4.24 does not properly search
certificate revocation lists (CRL), which allows remote attackers to
bypass intended access restrictions by using revoked certificates.

Please mention the CVE id, when you fix this issue. Extracted upstream
patch is attached.

Cheers

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
i386.

This rebuild was done with gcc 4.3 instead of gcc 4.2, because gcc 4.3
is now the default on most architectures (even if it's not the case on
i386 yet). Consequently, many failures are caused by the switch to gcc
4.3.
If you determine that this failure is caused by gcc 4.3, feel free to
downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built on i386,
and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with
gcc 4.2).

When I tried to build apache2 in a clean chroot, it fails becuase of a missing
library:
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/libmysqlclient_r.la'

Adding a build dependancy on libmysqlclient15-dev fixes it.
I verified it in lenny and sid.

Even `apt-get source apache2` and then running `cowbuilder --build
apache2_2.2.8-4.dsc` fails...

Bug#483074: nvidia-kernel-source: same problem with make-kpkg

2008-05-27 Thread Mathias Behrle
Package: nvidia-kernel-source

I am builduing my kernel with
 make-kpkg --rootcmd=fakeroot --initrd kernel_image modules_image
and therefore IMHO I have to unpack as user the module sources, since otherwise
the modules won't be built.
And consequently the build process complains:

Module /usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel failed.
Perhaps /usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel does not understand --rootcmd?
If you see messages that indicate that it is not
in fact being built as root, please file a bug

I think, /usr/src/modules/nvidia-kernel/debian/patches should be drwxrwsr-x

Hi,

Is this because of the image size being too large? I need to know so I
can talk with upstream about this issue. He may not choose to help
though because we patch lilo a lot (something I intend to look through
and see how many of these patches we *really* need at some point).

Bug#483199: flashplugin-nonfree: Adobe Flash Player is prone to an unspecified remote code-execution vulnerability.

2008-05-27 Thread Sam Morris
Package: flashplugin-nonfree
Version: 1:1.4
Severity: grave
Tags: security
Justification: user security hole

Adobe Flash Player is prone to an unspecified remote code-execution
vulnerability.

An attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of
the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in
denial-of-service conditions.

Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115.0 and 9.0.124.0 are vulnerable; other versions may
also be affected.

Bug#483200: Breaks suspend on a HP 6701b

2008-05-27 Thread Sjoerd Simons
Package: hotkey-setup
Version: 0.1-21
Severity: serious

As said in the subject. hotkey-setup breaks suspend (or actually resume) on a
HP 6701B. The hotkey-setup sets the DOS entry of the acpi video bits to 4
(which is a bit odd in itself as it's defined as a 2 bit value afaik).
Unfortunately some machines are quite sensitive to this value, with the setting
to 4 the machine doesn't come back from suspend when suspending under X.

See http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6001 for more braindamage with
regards to this.

Bug#482303: luatex: getpwnam() implicitly converted to pointer

2008-05-27 Thread Hilmar Preusse

Hi Taco,

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that is likely to
cause your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a
pointer is greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64 and amd64.

Function `getpwnam' implicitly converted to pointer at
   ../../../src/texk/kpathsea/tilde.c:103

This is often due to a missing function prototype definition.
 For more information, see [2].

luatex provides its own pwd.h file which is getting included
instead of the system pwd.h file and does not include a prototype
for getpwnam(). If the luatex pwd.h file is not available in the
include path, the system one gets properly included:

Thanks, I have come up with a solution where luatex is
using the system-wide pwd.h except while crosscompiling
for win32 (that is what the file was there for).

The problem meanwhile causes an FTBFS (fails to build from source) on
ia64. I've seen a patch in the SVN (Revision 1279), which seems to
address the problem. Can we check it out and use it to work around
the problem?

good luck. i've already written once asking for clarification of the
cite bundle -- iirc 3 of the 4 packages are ok, but chapterbib is
 unsullied with licence info.

he hasn't replied, though he generally replies to technical mails from
 me.

So that boils down to: Is there a person he will give sent an answer on
such a question? Or is there some other *way* to convince him to care
about this?

Anyway, I'd rather nobody asks him *now*, since we should first make a
list of what we think he should do, to make it easy for him - and not
just tell him what's the status of all your stuff?. A list of his
files as I found them in teTeX and TeXLive can be found at
http://wiki.debian.org/ProblematicCtanPackages, but I'm not completely
sure that it is complete.

 sources available?

I completely forgot I helped with that talk. The documents were
prepared by Ulrik (I do not have sources and am not an author).

Hi Frank,

I prepared the documents for a presentation at EuroTeX 99 and Taco
assisted with the presentation. Therefore his name was on it as well.

As for licensing, I never bothered to define any specifc license for
the documents. As far as I know, they have been available on CTAN
since fontinst-prerelease-1.914 in November 1999. (I just checked the
CTAN CD 2000, which shows a filedate of Nov 16 1999 for doc/talks.)

As for sources, I may still have them somewhere on my local machine,
but they were never released, partly because the fonts required to
typeset the documents are non-free (Lucida Bright) and partly because
the PDF doucments are the final form intended for consumption.

As for roadmap.eps, the diagram was presumably created by Alan Jeffrey
and has been part of earlier fontinst distributions since 1995.

The orignal source of the EPS may have been created with xfig, since
the archive copy of fontinst-1.504 contains a file roadmap.fig along
with roadmap.eps, which can be found here:

ftp://ftp.tug.org/historic/fonts/utilities/fontinst/fontinst-1.504/doc/

Please let me know, if you need and further statement of clarification
regarding the licensing isseue.

I'd like to keep this bug open in order to keep track of the fact that
the license statement made in the e-mail is not yet uploaded to
CTAN. It's an upstream problem, but it still exists in Debian, too, and
will continue to exist in TL 2008 unless we get it fixed.

Bug#482657: kernel-patch-openvz causes a kernel panic

Ok, good to know that so far. Tell me if you see the problem again.

It would be good to know if you have the same problem with the kernel

have tested at least).

I built the kernel with the latest unstable patch applied and it builts
fine. However to see if the error happens again needs some time, because
it occurs sporadic and not in a regular fashion.

 Hello,

Here is the result of dpkg -L $PACKAGE, as you will see ift-load is
 not included in the package.

Sorry, README.Debian is old version.(In my repository).
I will update it in next up-loading.

In present package, suport hal only. This doesn't support udev.
If enable udev , include ift-load.

Can you use isight in present package?

Best regards,

Sure, I see no problem with that. It is just a build issue, after all.

This is hardly a grave bug. Bypassing IDS has been possible since they were
first invented, after all they are just a 'network signature matcher'.

I'm reducing the severity but keeping the security tag.

Hi,

I am including here a (very trivial) patch fixing this FTBFS. In the
process of fixing it, a second FTBFS appeared - so I am including it
as well.

The FTBFS was caused by a typo in a regex - Here goes the patch

The patch fixing this FTBFS bug follows. What happens here is that,
with Perl 5.10, a (long-time flawed) misfeature of ExtUtils::MakeMaker

rmdir was failing as /usr/lib/perl5 didn't exist.

Package: screenkast
Version: 0.1.4-2.1
Severity: serious
User: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Usertags: qa-ftbfs-20080520 qa-ftbfs
Justification: FTBFS on i386

4.3.
If you determine that this failure is caused by gcc 4.3, feel free to
downgrade this bug to 'important' if your package is only built on i386,
and this bug is specific to gcc 4.3 (i.e the package builds fine with
gcc 4.2).

Relevant part:

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

The full build log is available from:
   http://people.debian.org/~lucas/logs/2008/05/20

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot containing a sid i386
environment. Internet was not accessible from the build systems.

Bug#483284: please build depend on libxerces-c2-dev

2008-05-27 Thread Jay Berkenbilt

Package: xqilla
Severity: serious

Please update your build dependency on libxerces28-dev to one on
libxerces-c2-dev instead. I will soon be requesting removal of the
xerces28 packages. libxerces-c2-dev is just a rename of
libxerces28-dev, so this should be a completely trivial change.

This represents the next-to-last step of the transition to the new
xerces packaging. Starting when 3.0.0 enters unstable (it is still in
beta in experimental), the libxerces-c-dev package will always point
to the latest xerces-c development package in the archive. When your
upstream provides a package that works with xerces-c 3, you can change
your dependency to either libxerces-c-dev or libxerces-c3-dev,
depending on whether you want to automatically try the next major
release when it comes out (which could be years away).

If you'd like an NMU, please let me know, and I'd be happy to oblige.
I'll be requesting removal of xerces28 soon.

Bug#483282: texlive-latex-base: proba.sty copyright violation

2008-05-27 Thread Julian Gilbey
Package: texlive-latex-base
Version: 2007-14
Severity: serious

I was just looking at the proba.sty package, and wondering what the
purpose of a couple of the macros was. I looked for the proba.dtx
file but it turns out that it does not exist on CTAN, yet the licence
in the file specifies that it must be distributed with the dtx file.

Ho hum.

I do not mind requesting the removal of the binaries but strictly
speaking fwbuilder only need the antlr c library which can be built on
those architectures because it does not need java.
