[EMAIL PROTECTED]: could you please schedule a retry so we can see if the problem persists? Does smackdown have less resources than the others? The package has been built successfully after a retry. Thanks. I'm a bit uneasy of testing this out on agnesi.d.o. Could somebody on the debian-arm list look into it a bit to see how often it fails and how? Just running the test (attached for convenience) with the system perl on lenny or sid should do, no need for the full build tree. Lowering the severity to 'important' for now because we have seen ten or so successful arm builds in in unstable and just one failure. -- Niko Tyni [EMAIL PROTECTED] stress.t Description: Troff document

Bug#494010: Source for dsp56k firmware
On Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 04:50:11PM +0200, Robert Millan wrote: Ok, fixed that. I got a 100% code match now. The only remaining question is what's the deal with this section that's supposed to start at 0x7ea9 but actually starts at 0x4f (0xed in the file). My code adds a workaround for that: if (offset 0x7000) offset -= 0x7e5a; It seems the whole point is to avoid generating a huge file. Address 0x7ea9 needs to be used for some reason, so the code uses org 7ea9 to generate absolute offsets in code using that address, but the code itself is saved at 0x4f. Then the copy routine reallocates that to 7ea9 in runtime. I can live without knowing why the code needs to run in that address; but I'm still puzzled by how is the code supposed to tell the assembler that the 0x7ea9 chunk really should be saved to 0x4f. The default gdc is 4.1 for release archs, so removing does not have rdepends problems and Debian will include gdc (which I would want after promising that to upstream when asking for GPL1+ instead of GPL1 license). Bug#501508: openarena-data: openarena contains materials from non-free sources
Hi, Mike Swanson wrote: On Wed, Oct 8, 2008 at 1:59 PM, Steve Cotton [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: IMO, even if the Darkstalkers character is the reason that a Chinese vampire is included in Open Arena; the similarity is largely because of the monster genre, rather than a copy from Darkstalkers. Similarity? They're nearly exactly the same in OpenArena and Darkstalkers. That's not just a vague monster design... I don't think so. The head does look similar, but other than that they look quite different to me (different clothing, the one in OpenArena has no claws). It might be inspired by the Darkstalker's character, but IMO it is *not* a simple copy, ans so does not violate copyright. Bug#502459: more information on konqueror ebay crash
Konqueror crashes when ever i try to visit my 'My Ebay' page on the UK version of EBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk). It loads the login page fine, but once i've clicked the 'sign in' button, the status bar does a bit of stuff that looks like it's trying to load the page, then konqueror dies, emitting signal 8 (SIGFPE). Regarding to the copyright, control, README.Debian and README.ROMs files this should not be the case due to copyright issues. Additional notes: 1) There is a romtest included in the debian/rules files which should AFAIK prevent building the package with ROM images, but the romtest is unfortunately not called during the build procedure e.g. with dpkg-buildpackage. 2) AFAIK the mangle-source.sh script should remove the ROM images prior to build by overwriting them with dummy entries. As a result the dummy ROM images are included in the .deb file and during installation valid ROM images are overwritten with the dummy files. Now this means that I have somehow overlooked a few plugins (and I was sure I had removed them *all*). That definitely sounds good news to me :) Could you try to investigate which one is responsible for this, so that others could try to remove it, too ? Well, it appears to have been the j2re1.4.2 from blackdown that was linked to /etc/alternatives/mozilla-javaplugin.so that was linked to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libjavaplugin.so At the same time I had a /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins/libjavaplugin.so pointing to /usr/lib/gcj-4.3-90/libgcjwebplugin.so The latter is in place again but does not appear in the about:plugins list of plugins. How come iceweasel still uses plugins in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ ? Because it's a canonical place to put plugins And how come it mattered even though I had deactivated java in the preferences? Because plugins are still loaded even when disabled. That's something that sucks in the mozilla plugins model, and something the MOZILLA_DISABLE_PLUGINS variable we added alleviates. Hello All: Thanks a lot for the patch Moritz. I have tested it on a debian prerelease of next kdelibs (for sid) and it works. I think it result would be the same for 3.5.9 currently on Lenny. Bug#501151: Need a maintainer?
Folks, What do I need to do to take over maintenance? I'd much rather see ocfs2-tools on Debian. I did the original debian/ directory until Fabbione picked it up and cleaned it for Ubuntu. I'm not yet an official maintainer of anything for Debian, so I gather I have to get that set up first, but I've been building .debs forever. Oh, and I'm one the upstream maintainers for ocfs2 and ocfs2-tools :-) Joel -- Here's a nickle -- get yourself a better X server. - Keith Packard Joel Becker Principal Software Developer Oracle E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Phone: (650) 506-8127 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. I could however 'postpone' the message and quit mutt. Hi, could you send the uncloaked error message in full, as well as your $from and relevant my_hdr settings so we have a chance to debug this? As Frank already said, I suspect a badly encoded config file to be the culprit. Bug#502263: [Pkg-mailman-hackers] Bug#502263: mailman: policy violation (9.1.1): writes to /usr when config changes
severity 502263 important thanks Hi Helmut, On Wed, October 15, 2008 23:57, Helmut Grohne wrote: I welcome input on this issue from people with more deep knowledge than myself about these Python cached files, and how we could best address it in this case. If there's a straightforward solution I think we can apply it for lenny. The simplest solution might actually be to take the approach python-support uses. 1) The .py files stay where they are. 2) They are symlinked to a directory hierarchy within /var/lib. (This means directories are copied and files are symlinked.) 3) The .pyc files will get created on /var. 4) The module path has to be adapted from /usr/lib/mailman to something on /var. Therefore /usr/lib/mailman/bin/paths.py should be adapted. Right. I'm afraid that I don't think this juggling with symlinks and changing the module path at the verge of Lenny's release is a wise thing to do. Would this really solve the root cause? It seems quite an extensive workaround for the problem that Python saves caching data right next to the original data. Wouldn't it be better configure Python to save that under /var/cache, than to implement magic in every application? However I indeed don't think this should be release critical, as you say, it doesn't break when writing fails. It is an inconvenience with e.g. tripwire, but that is resolvable within the context of that application. So I would classify it as an 'important' issue myself. ACK. Downgrading the severity. Bug#500482: your bug about grub in Debian
Hi Zrin, you have reported a bug about grub-probe segfaulting. The Debian grub maintainer would like to have your input on whether a related problem fix also fixes the bug you have encountered[1]. Is there any chance you would be able to do this? (Please also say so if you cannot.) If you would prefer to get a binary package to try out to be built for you or require any other assistance, don't hesitate to ask. We would like to solve the problem both for you and other users, but we need your input to move this forward. notfound 502312 0.09-1 thanks I just uploaded 1.01-2, including the patch for this bug. The upstream author has acknowledged it, and will include it for his next release. I'm hoping the maintainer will once we've figured out what configuration settings cause the crash. -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
