Bug#627081: STARTTLS plaintext command injection

2011-05-18 Thread Ondřej Surý
Hi Moritz,

thanks for heads-up.

I am preparing the security updates for cyrus-imapd-2.2 right now.

Please note that for cyrus-imapd-2.4 this vulnerability was fixed in
upstream 2.4.7.

 Hi,
I was found out that Cyrus is also vulnerable to the STARTTLS plaintext
command injection vulnerability originally discovered in Postfix:

 http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/555316
 http://www.postfix.org/CVE-2011-0411.html

 Cyrus bug:

m68k-vme-tftplilo build-depends on gcc-m68k-linux [!m68k],

Bug#627175: amarok: Amarok crashes the Sawfish session

2011-05-18 Thread Nicolas Patrois
Package: amarok
Version: 2.4.0-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Since the last update (yesterday, 17/05/2011) and the installation of the
latest kernel (2.6.38-2-686-bigmem), Amarok crashes the Sawfish session, but
when I click on a scrollbar.
Note that launching XMMS (the very old one that is still installed) has the
same effect.
Sawfish just crashes and returns to GDM.

I suspect a library bug.

I've fixed this in Ubuntu with the attached patch, but didn't find
where to upstream it; since you're a klibc upstream developer and since
it probably already affects Debian, I figured it was probably best to
 send it here :-)

BTW, do you have any idea why the build process forces such odd and
very old toolchain flags instead of just using the defaults?
 (it forces -march=armv4 -mtune=strongarm)

2011-05-18 Thread Luc Novales
Package: installation-reports
Version: 2.44
Severity: critical
Tags: d-i
Justification: breaks the whole system

First : installation locks on first screen just after install choice. It
begins if you choose help and enter only install, there is an error
undefined video number 314, but it continue.
Second : Installer does not find CDROM,image, mounting it by mount -t 9660
/dev/sdb /cdrom from another console is needed to load base system.
Third : apt-config does not finish, then sources.list must be done manually to
allow packages download.
Fourth : /proc isn't mounted in /target mount -t proc -o bind /proc
/target/proc solve this problem and allow to configure some packages and
finish installation.

Bug#627195: ruby-amrita: file conflict with ams package over /usr/bin/ams

2011-05-18 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Package: ruby-amrita
Version: 1.0.2-9
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 6.6(4)

The new amrita packaging places ams in /usr/bin, where it conflicts
with the ams package's main executable; could you please install it by
a different name (amrita-ams?) or to a different location? (In
particular, it looks like the old-style libamrita-ruby1.8 package
avoided this problem by installing ams and amshandler as examples
under /usr/share/doc.)

Thanks!

Bug#627208: mysql-5.1: FTBFS with segmentation fault (signal 11) on i386

2011-05-18 Thread Ondřej Surý
Package: mysql-5.1
Version: 5.1.57-1
Severity: serious
Tags: sid
Justification: fails to build from source

Full build log here:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=mysql-5.1arch=i386ver=5.1.57-1stamp=1305389650

Fails with:

Too many failed: Failed 10/576 tests, 98.26% were successful.

Failing test(s): rpl.rpl_ssl rpl.rpl_ssl1 main.func_encrypt main.ssl_8k_key
main.ssl_cipher main.func_des_encrypt main.func_encrypt_ucs2 main.openssl_1
main.ssl main.ssl_compress

The log files in var/log may give you some hint of what went wrong.

If you want to report this error, please read first the documentation
at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/mysql-test-suite.html

Too many tests(10) failed! Terminating...

The failure seems to be related to embedded yassl+taocrypt library (which is
also probably wrong itself).

So it's either OpenSSL 1.0.0 or new GCC. You chose :).

BTW I suggest you add gdb (and maybe some -dbg libraries) to
Build-Depends:, so it can generate backtraces automatically if
something fails.

I have also checked if there is a new upstream for taocrypt and:

a) there is
b) it doesn't check the assembly which is failing.

O.

the package fails to detect the correct architecture to build for when in a
32bit chroot running on a 64 bit kernel.
uname -m reports x86_64 and that is also used by lazbuild. It then fails when
it tries to execute the non-existing ppc64 compiler

attached patch fixes this issue. It uses dpkg-architecture -qDEB_BUILD_ARCH to
get the build arch and passes that one to lazbuild
It may need adapting for powerpc and sparc

Bug#627175: amarok is not the only unstable application

2011-05-18 Thread nicolas . patrois
In fact, it's not only an amarok bug, but my whole Debian Wheezy box is
unstable since yesterday:

* Launching Banshee works but right clicking crashes the X session -
GDM.
* WMaker crashes - GDM.
* In a KDE session, clicking on the KDE icon crashes KDE - GDM.

I installed also the x86-270.41.06 nVidia driver, but reinstalling the
x86-260.19.44 changes nothing.

I don't have a lot of things in the logs, I don't know where.
Anyway, I saw this:

May 18 20:11:20 new-host gnome-session[25922]: GLib-CRITICAL:
g_key_file_load_from_dirs: assertion `!g_path_is_absolute (file)'
failed

g_key_file_load_from_dirs: assertion `!g_path_is_absolute (file)'

and this:

May 18 20:12:04 new-host gdm[25870]: WARNING:

Upstream commit 1f8260481453cd7632225a3a2ae9c4b090d25241 does:

 void sn_launchee_context_setup_window (SnLauncheeContext
*context,
- Window
 xwindow);
+ xcb_window_t
 xwindow);

xcb_window_t is uint32_t, Window is unsigned long.
sn_launchee_context_setup_window is public API. I somehow managed to
miss this before uploading 0.11, but I think it needs fixing.

Cheers,
Julien

Bug#627175: amarok: Amarok crashes the Sawfish session

2011-05-18 Thread Modestas Vainius
reassign 627175 sawfish
thanks

Hello,

On trečiadienis 18 Gegužė 2011 15:32:30 Nicolas Patrois wrote:
 Package: amarok

 Severity: grave
 Justification: renders package unusable

Since the last update (yesterday, 17/05/2011) and the installation of the
latest kernel (2.6.38-2-686-bigmem), Amarok crashes the Sawfish session,
but when I click on a scrollbar. Note that launching XMMS (the very old
one that is still installed) has the same effect. Sawfish just crashes and
 returns to GDM.

 I suspect a library bug.

And you report this against amarok? Uch. Anyway, reassigning where it belongs.

That's definitely not an amarok bug. Amarok (begin a KDE app) has barely
anything to do with sawfish (gnome).

This is a bug in libperl-apireference-perl. The part of debian/rules
that ensures that all V*.pm files are generated from PODs is assuming
that each and every .pm is generated from POD. Therefore it removes
all V*.pm files and generates one .pm file for each POD in data/.

However, since Perl 5.12.0÷5.12.3 have the same API, the .pm files for
5.12.1÷5.12.3 are just wrappers that inherit from the 5.12.0 file.
They have no corresponding source POD .bz in data/.

The net result is that the .pm files for 5.12.1÷5.12.3 are missing
from the package, although upstream supplies them.

Fix is coming soon. Padre still needs to build-depend on fixed
libperl-apireference-perl. This is why I clone the bug instead of
reassigning.

Bug#627110: ant: FTBFS on s390

 Package: ant

 Hey

As the title suggests, ant does not do too well on s390[1].  I had ant
given back a couple of days and it gave exactly the same error, so I
doubt it is a temporary issue.  By the looks of it, my best guess is
 that openjdk-6 chokes here.

Patch, fix or just a workaround appreciated.

Just a few pointers.

1. Looking at the log it seems javadoc generation is choking. Ant's
javadoc task always forks the process. So it is possible that the
buildd doesn't have enough memory for allocation and hence the
failure.
2. As a workaround you can disable the javadoc building on s390. This
will need some 'trial and error' process and you will need access to
the s390 machine. I had implemented similar change in java-gnome
packaging. You can take a look at it.

Cheers,
Onkar

Package: ruby-amrita
Version: 1.0.2-9
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 6.6(4)

The new amrita packaging places ams in /usr/bin, where it conflicts
with the ams package's main executable; could you please install it by
a different name (amrita-ams?) or to a different location? (In
particular, it looks like the old-style libamrita-ruby1.8 package
avoided this problem by installing ams and amshandler as examples
under /usr/share/doc.)

Thanks!
