However, there is a newer Berkeley DB version in the archive (libdb5.1), with a compatible API. Berkeley DB version 4.7 will be eventually removed from unstable in favor of version 5.1. Please port your package to libdb5.1 as soon as possible. In most cases only change required is to update build depends from libdb4.7-dev to libdb-dev, or just recompile the package. More complicated scenarios: - Package does check for DB_VERSION_MAJOR == 4 - this should be updated to (DB_VERSION_MAJOR 4) || ((DB_VERSION_MAJOR == 4) (DB_VERSION_MINOR = XX)). - Configure checks - sometime there is a list of db-4.7 db-4.6 db-4.2, etc., this needs to be updated to just db (or db-5.1 db-5 db), or at least list the 'db' in the front You can see example patch in cyrus-imapd-2.2: http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-cyrus-imapd/cyrus-imapd-2.2.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/99-berkelydb-5.1.dpatch;hb=HEAD - The packages which use Berkeley DB transactional mode need to upgrade the database files before the upgrade. This is fairly straightforward and is well documented on the Berkeley DB website. But you probably already know that because it's not the first Berkeley DB transition. The example script can be found in the cyrus-imapd-2.4 (not yet released): http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-cyrus-imapd/cyrus-imapd-2.4.git;a=blob;f=debian/cyrus-upgrade-db;hb=HEAD Thanks, -- Ondřej Surý ond...@debian.org -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers maverick-updates APT policy: (500, 'maverick-updates'), (500, 'maverick-security'), (500, 'maverick-proposed'), (500, 'maverick-backports'), (500, 'maverick') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: squidguard Source-Version: 1.4-4 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of squidguard, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: squidguard-doc_1.4-4_all.deb to main/s/squidguard/squidguard-doc_1.4-4_all.deb squidguard_1.4-4.debian.tar.gz to main/s/squidguard/squidguard_1.4-4.debian.tar.gz squidguard_1.4-4.dsc to main/s/squidguard/squidguard_1.4-4.dsc squidguard_1.4-4_i386.deb to main/s/squidguard/squidguard_1.4-4_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#629269: kile: crashes computer
Package: kile Version: 1:2.1.0~svn2010122beta5-1 Severity: critical Tags: upstream Justification: breaks the whole system When I try running kile, my computer crashes - I get no response from either mouse or keyboard and caps lock and scroll lock both start flashing. This is very reproducible. It occurs using either nvidia or nv drivers, and occurs using either xfce or twm (I haven't tried other window managers yet). Also, apologies if this isn't a kile bug and belongs somewhere else. I uninstalled and purged kile and all kde applications, libraries etc. that I could think of and then reinstalled kile. Bug persists. (I tried reinstalling because I was getting a message in amongst the other output of: qUncompress: Input data is corrupted the end of the other input looks like the output I'll provide below) I can't seem to find any logs showing the output, but, by starting in a terminal on twm and moving the terminal I was able to copy out the messages by hand (apologies if there are typos or if I have copied things out incorrectly.) $kile kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_klauncher.so Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString) kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kded4.so QMetaObject::invokeMethod: No such method KUniqueApplication::loadCommandLineOptionsForNewInstance() kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kbuildsycoca4.so kbuildsycoca4 running... kbuildsycoca4(7941)/kdecore (services) KServicePrivate::init: The desktop entry file /usr/share/applications/kde/kresources.desktop has Type= Application but also has a X-KDE-Library key. Bug#629211: d-conf on kfreebsd
reassign 629211 libc0.1-dev thanks 2011/6/5 Benjamin Kaduk ka...@mit.edu: Please pardon my ignorance, but why is it necessary to use the double-underscore version of the types? AFAICT it's the only way to use those types in glibc headers (btw, I got confused, sys/mount.h is a glibc header not k-k-h). _BSD_SOURCE would enable the no-underscore types, but it can't be assumed that every application will define this macro. -- Robert Millan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. This is because cmake helpfully chooses the highest possible version of Python rather than the default one (bug #580503). The attached patch fixes the bug in nfqueue-bindings, but I'd love to see it fixed in cmake, too. (Please note that Python packaging of python-nfqueue is a bit odd: one one hand the package uses XS-Python-Version: current and debian/rules builds extension modules only for a single version, on the other hand it build-depends on python-all-dev, which suggests that is should support all of them.) Hi Jakub, Thanks for the explanation and patch. In fact, I was already working on a different kind of patch, which build against all (current) versions of python. Package should be ready today. Bug#629142: autogen: FTBFS: Various aborts
Hi Kurt, Thank you. On 06/05/11 02:53, Kurt Roeckx wrote: I applied your patch and it build on most arches now. Excellent! Thank you! I still need to chase down why it would have failed with a non-directory for HOME. It should not have, but that should not be crucial. I'm still waiting for a few results, ... It failed on hurd with this message: i486-gnu-gcc -std=gnu99 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I.. -I../autoopts-g -O2 -O2 -MT autogen-ag.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/autogen-ag.Tpo -c -o autogen-ag.o `test -f 'ag.c' || echo './'`ag.c In file included from ag.c:35:0: fmemopen.c: In function 'ag_fmemioctl': fmemopen.c:752:10: error: '_IOT__IOTBASE_fmemc_get_buf_addr_t' undeclared That means that hurd has a non-standard definition for _IOWR. By the time the compiler sees this: _IOWR(FMEMC_IOCTL_BASE, FMEMC_GET_BUF_ADDR, fmemc_get_buf_addr_t) the result should be a number. Looks like hurd just token pastes stuff. It turns out that it is only used in code that is never called, The simplest fix is to #if 0 the code (the ag_fmemioctl() function). Neither fopencookie nor funopen really make for a fully funcional FILE* return type, so I wrote my own layer over that that is somewhat more usable. It includes a fake ioctl for getting the current address of the buffer. Not used here. Probably too much information. Sorry. Anyway, just #if 0-away that function and all is fine. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Bug#629350: STARTTLS vulnerability in kolab-cyrus-imapd
Hi, I have just realized that the same STARTTLS bug affect kolab-cyrus-imapd as well. Ccing Security team, so they can keep track of the security vulnerability. You can find the patch in pkg-cyrus-imapd/cyrus-imapd-2.2 git repository (on alioth) or in cyrus-imapd-2.2 package sources. I would suggest to fix Berkeley DB in one go, since otherwise the bug will prevent building the packager and migration of fixed package to testing. If you don't have a time, please ping me, I'll prepare security uploads and fixes for unstable. Bug#629186: [Resolvconf-devel] Bug#629186: fails on installation: mkdir: cannot create directory `/etc/resolvconf/run/interface'
* Thomas Hood [Sat Jun 04, 2011 at 10:29:38PM +0200]: Hmm. Then I have a couple of questions, since I don't understand why resolvconf's preinst didn't use either /run or /lib/init/rw for run-time data. JFTR, it's the result of: | debootstrap --arch amd64 --exclude=info,tasksel,tasksel-data sid $PATH $MIRROR and afterwards apt-get install resolvconf inside it - nothing else. 1. After doing mkdir /etc/resolvconf/run and then installing resolvconf, is /etc/resolvconf/run a symlink to /run/resolvconf? After 'mkdir -p /etc/resolvconf/run' the installation works and /etc/resolvconf/run is a symlink to /run/resolvconf, yes. 2. Please send the output of ls -ld /run. # ls -ld /run drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Jun 5 13:35 /run 3. Please send the content of /proc/mounts I don't have /proc mounted - but if it's mounted the installation including the migration works as intended (done from another fresh debootstrap chroot, so not related to above actions): | resolvconf.postinst: Migrated resolvconf run-time data from /lib/init/rw/resolvconf to /run/resolvconf Though the 'mkdir -p /etc/resolvconf/run' is enough to get a working installation/setup. regards, -mika- signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Do we have any estimation for how long it will take to get a fixed version of refpolicy in unstable? Sorry to pester, but there hasn't been a response to the bug since it was filed, and it's now blocking both initscripts and base-files, neither of which can migrate to testing until this is fixed.
