Bug#641842: library version mismatch between augeas-tools and libaugeas0
On Wed, Nov 9, 2011 at 09:43:27 +0100, Niels Thykier wrote: Hi Andrew, I see you have filed a bug against augeas-tools in debian, but your report lists the version of a backported package. If this issue only happens with the backported package, we should move this issue to debian-backpo...@lists.debian.org (CC'ed). However, if it also happens in a pure oldstable environment, then we may need a oldstable upload to fix it. The bug affects plain Debian too. oldstable has libfa.so.0 in the libaugeas0 package, stable/testing/sid have libfa.so.1. Not quite sure what can be done about it now, other than split libfa out of the libaugeas0 package so this hopefully doesn't happen again. They then fail to bounce as well. That's why I set the severity to grave - it causes dataloss, at least for me. This is because it sometimes doesn't read the entire line in the SMTP conversation up to \r\n. I suspect that happends when the remote system doesn't send the entire line in one TCP packet, which is probably unusual (it might be an anti-spam measure), but valid. Example from strace: 10035 connect(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(25), sin_addr=inet_addr(194.109.6.51)}, 16) = 0 10035 read(6, 220 smtp-vbr11.xs4all.nl ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.8, 2048) = 46 10035 write(6, EHLO newsfeed5.news.xs4all.nl\r\n, 31) = 31 10035 read(6, /8.13.8; Mon, 28 Nov 2011 11:34:52 +0100 (CET)\r\n, 2048) = 48 10035 sendto(5, 21Nov 28 11:34:52 dma[1580fa.612b00]: remote delivery deferred: smtp.xs4all.nl [194.109.6.51] failed after EHLO: invalid syntax in reply from server, 150, MSG_NOSIGNAL, NULL, 0) = 150 As you can see, dma reads the first 46 bytes of the SMTP welcome line, then sends an EHLO, then wants to read the reply to the EHLO but gets the rest of the SMTP welcome line, and errors out. Bug#653331: linux-image-3.1.0-1-686-pae: CPU#0 stuck for 23s, system does not boot
Package: linux-2.6 Version: 3.1.1-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system Dear Maintainer, First of all, thanks for looking into this.. I've installed debian-stable with 2.6.32 kernel. After that, I made the upgrade to wheezy. From that moment on, the system no longer boots: http://tinypic.com/r/2u9222q/5 BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 23s! [swapper:1] This messages keeps repeating. When I boot the 2.6.32 kernel, the system works. Hardware is an old Asus A1300 laptop with SiS 630 chipset and Pentium III 1Ghz CPU. Disabling APIC (apic=off) had no effect, having cpufreqd installed or not also makes no difference. I had found these suggestions on the net for similar but different problems. -- Package-specific info: ** Kernel log: boot messages should be attached ** Model information not available ** Network interface configuration: # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them. Bug#653332: thin is unmaintained
Package: thin Version: 1.2.4-1.1 Severity: serious Hi, I noticed that the package thin hasn't been maintained properly. It hasn't had a maintainer upload since September 2009 when 1.2.4-1 was uploaded; during that time, upstream released 1.2.6 (Feb 2010), 1.2.7 (March 2010), 1.2.8 (February 2011) 1.3.0 (November 2011); it had an NMU (by yours truly) in January 2011 just to keep in the squeeze release; it has a bug (+patch) open to update it to newer Ruby packaging rules (#652090) with no maintainer reply. The package in its current version works for me. However, I believe it is unsuitable for a release (and hence inclusion in testing) as it's clearly lacking a maintainer. I'd suggest either to start working on it, or O/RFH it. Regards, Faidon -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
