If it was, manually installing libegl1-mesa on my system should solve the issue originally met with pytrainer. However, it doesn't. It would also need to link against it. Bug#712878: brp-pacu: FTBFS on buildds
Package: brp-pacu Version: 2.1.1+git20111020-2 Severity: serious Hello, brp-pacu currently build-depends on libgtkdatabox-dev which is a virtual package provided by both libgtkdatabox-0.9.1-1-dev and libgtkdatabox-0.9.2-0-dev. Buildds do not choose between either, you have to tell which one should be preferred, by using for instance: libgtkdatabox-0.9.2-0-dev | libgtkdatabox-dev so that buildds will pick up libgtkdatabox-0.9.2-0-dev even if it will still be allowed to build by hand against libgtkdatabox-0.9.1-1-dev. Bug#712664: kfreebsd-9: CVE-2013-2171: Privilege escalation via mmap
A suggested workaround on vulnerable systems is: sysctl security.bsd.unprivileged_proc_debug=0 (which works by disabling some functionality of GDB to non-root users) Also the use of jails or securelevel could reduce the potential damage. Bug#679686: Help with the packaging of Ceph in Debian
Laszlo Boszormenyi (GCS) g...@debian.hu From time-to-time I've updated the packaging, but not uploaded. Reason is that I don't use it now and can't be 100% sure it is working correctly. This is going to change. I've just created 0.61.2 , mostly based on the Ubuntu changes. Hi Laszlo, I can see that this bug has been left opened for nearly a year now. That's not very nice for a bug of severity Serious. So we really need to do something here, especially if you don't have enough time and/or resources for it. Ceph is a critical piece of software for storage in the cloud, and it is a problem for me if it isn't in good shape. If you aren't a user of Ceph (anymore, as I understand), would you consider orphaning the package or accepting to have some co-maintainers? If you wish, we can maintain Ceph within the PKG OpenStack group on Alioth (I'm the main person behind this group, I created it, and I'm the one doing the most work on OpenStack packaging in Debian at the moment). That seems the right team for this Ceph package to me. This way, you can go back to its packaging later on if you have more time, while leaving space for others to work on Ceph packaging as they see fit. Your thoughts? Thomas Goirand (zigo) P.S: I have a lot of Ceph users behind me where I work with, so I'm quite sure that even if I don't test the package so much myself, it will be by my co-workers. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#712414: [Openvpn-devel] Fix for CVE-2013-2061 breaks multihome?
Hi, On Mon, Jun 17, 2013 at 01:00:03PM +0200, Alberto Gonzalez Iniesta wrote: I applied the fix for CVE-2013-2061 [0] to Debian's stable version of openvpn (2.2.1) [1]. When the new package was sent to the mirrors I got a couple of reports of broken VPNs [2]. After some testing I think the problem arises with the use of multihome option. The server daemon starts to log lots of these: Jun 17 12:43:52 srv ovpn-srv[31073]: write UDPv4 []: Invalid argument (code=22) Jun 17 12:43:53 srv ovpn-srv[31073]: write UDPv4 []: Invalid argument (code=22) If the multihome option is removed, the VPN comes back to live. Could a patch to fix this be made or should we go back to 2.2.1 without the patch to fix CVE-2013-2061? This patch is most definitely not affecting multihome. If you look at the patch, there is nothing in there that could affect external behaviour (except remove the timing variance). gert -- USENET is *not* the non-clickable part of WWW! //www.muc.de/~gert/ Gert Doering - Munich, Germany g...@greenie.muc.de fax: +49-89-35655025g...@net.informatik.tu-muenchen.de pgpML4c8x4YGM.pgp Description: PGP signature
Bug#710270: Fwd: Re: License for the yopls icon package
Hello Francesco, I've asked the author of the as Free stated icons how his understanding of Free is, see forwarded message below. I think that his reply should clearly indicate that the usage of the icons are 'free' as stated by the DFSG. I know that the Bug is already set to closed, this shoudl be for the clarification of the as License: Free stated icons in AB-Transfers. Regards Patrick Wacker -- Forwarded Message -- Subject: Re: License for the yopls icon package Date: Wednesday 19 June 2013, 23:12:20 From: evgen evge...@gmail.com To: Patrick Wacker schmuf...@gmx.net 19.06.2013 23:29, Patrick Wacker пишет: Hello Evgen, I've found your yopls icon package at the iconspedia website [1]. Because the license there is stated as free, I decided to use some of them as a replacement for icons which are licensed as non commercial in my Application 'AB-Transfers' [2] (only in German). At the time where I wanted to release a DFSG (Debian Free Software Guideline) [3] compliant version of AB-Transfers there came up some issues. I've found your comment at deviantart for yopls (It is free for any use, including use in commercial products). But this gets the following digest of message #44 at the Debian Bug Tracking System (all messages available at [4]) This is a significant improvement, but still not crystal clear: it is not explicitly stated whether use means inclusion into a product in unmodified form (which would not be enough to qualify as DFSG-free) or also mean copy, redistribution, modification, preparation and distribution of derivative works, and so forth (which would be regarded as DFSG-free, as far as I can tell)... Could you explain your understanding of Free in a more detailed way? Particularly for the above statements of copy, redistribution, modification, preparation and distribution of derivative works. If you do not want that your icons would be used in this way. I will of course appreciate it and would remove them from the sources of AB-Transfers. Please let me know if you have any questions. It seems linux/netfilter_ipv4/ip_queue.h has disappeared from linux-libc-dev 3.8 and /usr/include/libipq.h needs a fix. When this is fixed perlipq will need a versioned build-dependency on iptabled-dev. This could happen with flex_bg file systems that were grown using the old online resizing algorithm. * E2fsck will now detect and repair corrupted extent trees which contain invalid extents at the

Trying to upgrade one of my ia64 boxes from squeeze to wheezy turned into a non-booting system because: Checking root file system...fsck from util-linux 2.20.1 fsck.ext3: error while loading shared libraries: libunwind.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory fsck died with exit status 127 failed (code 127). An automatic file system check (fsck) of the root filesystem failed. A manual fsck must be performed, then the system restarted. The fsck should be performed in maintenance mode with the root filesystem mounted in read-only mode. ... failed! The root filesystem is currently mounted in read-only mode. A maintenance shell will now be started. After performing system maintenance, press CONTROL-D to terminate the maintenance shell and restart the system. ... (warning). Give root password for maintenance (or type Control-D to continue): And then the problem is that: ldd /sbin/fsck.ext3 linux-gate.so.1 = (0xa000) libext2fs.so.2 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libext2fs.so.2 (0x200800054000) libcom_err.so.2 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libcom_err.so.2 (0x2008000e8000) libblkid.so.1 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libblkid.so.1 (0x20080010) libuuid.so.1 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libuuid.so.1 (0x20080016) libe2p.so.2 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libe2p.so.2 (0x200800178000) HERE - libunwind.so.7 = /usr/lib/libunwind.so.7 (0x20080019c000) libc.so.6.1 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6.1 (0x2008001e8000) libpthread.so.0 = /lib/ia64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0 (0x200800478000) /lib/ld-linux-ia64.so.2 (0x2008) (don't ask me why it links libunwind, btw) The problem is that fsck is a program that lives in /sbin, and it links a library that lives in /usr, which can (and in this particular case does) reside on a different filesystem, which will no be mounted at the time of the rootfs filesystem check. That's an obvious violation of everything sacred, it kills kittens, etc. Please fix.
