Bug#724064: tar-scripts and openafs-client: error when trying to install together

2013-09-23 Thread Ralf Treinen

I've got another bug report suggesting I rename the scripts to have a
tar- prefix. Doing so would obviate the need for the Conflicts.

I knew there was a reason I'd ignored the bug requesting I package and
ship these scripts for nearly a decade... /o\

Renaming the conflicting files appart is of course largely preferable
to declaring a conflict between packages.

These checks are run quite frequently and I haven't seen this bug before,
so it most probably was provoked by the recent upload of tar-scripts. But
that doesn't mean anything about who has more rights to claim a
particular path name.

Bug#722035: evolution-data-server 3.8 transition started, fixed ffgtk needed

Package: mudlet
Version: 1:2.1-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer, I'm attaching a patch to use post-wheezy Lua package names in
the Depends field. This amounts to replace liblua5.1-rex-pcre0 and liblua5.1
-sql-sqlite3-2 with lua5.1-rex-pcre and lua5.1-sql-sqlite3.

Given that the lua-rex-pcre binary package provides the virtual package
lua5.1-rex-pcre, if you need to depend on a specific version of lua-rex you can
express it like:
  Depends: lua5.1-rex-pcre, lua-rex-pcre (= X)

You can also use lua-rex-pcre directly in the dependencies, but using
lua5.1-rex-pcre is preferred since it tells for which version of Lua you need
the rex-pcre package. The lua-rex-pcre package currently provides it for
both Lua 5.1 and 5.2. The same holds for lua-sql-sqlite3.

Cheers

Bug#712004: version 1.7.13 fixes #712004

2013-09-23 Thread trophime
Hi,
I've just tried to update subversion to latest 1.7.13
(see the attached patch). It seems that this version
provides apache module which are compatible with apache 2.4.

In particular #712004 seem to fix.
Thus libapach2-svn could be reenabled.

Hope this helps
Best

Bug#724271: libproc-invokeeditor-perl: FTBFS: Couldn't find an editor: No such file or directory

2013-09-23 Thread Damyan Ivanov
Control: severity -1 important
Control: retitle -1 libproc-invokeeditor-perl: FTBFS with nano installed and ed

-=| Damyan Ivanov, 23.09.2013 09:25:44 +0300 |=-
 Package: src:libproc-invokeeditor-perl
 Version: 1.06-2
 Severity: serious
 Tags: upstream
 Justification: FTBFS

This package fails to build in a clean current sid pbuilder chroot on amd64:

 t/01_require.t ... ok
Couldn't find an editor: No such file or directory at
 /tmp/buildd/libproc-invokeeditor-perl-1.06/blib/lib/Proc/InvokeEditor.pm line
 176.
 # Looks like you planned 8 tests but ran 6.

As it seems, the chroot was not so clean -- it had 'nano' installed,
and nano 'Provides: editor', which satisfies the build-dependency of
'ed|nvi|editor'. However, the code never checks for /usr/bin/editor,
so it fails.

We still have a bug -- either the code needs to support
/usr/bin/editor, or the |editor part of the (build-)dependency should
be dropped.

Bug#724138: [pkg-eucalyptus-maintainers] Bug#724138: Future of the wss4j package in Debian.

2013-09-23 Thread Brian Thomason
Hi Charles,

Thanks for looking into this. No, it is no longer needed moving forward so
can likely be removed from Debian altogether without issue.

-Brian

On Sun, Sep 22, 2013 at 8:05 PM, Charles Plessy ple...@debian.org wrote:

 Dear Eucalyptus and Java teams,

wss4j (Apache WSS4J WS-Security) is a package that was created in order
to build the Eucalyptus packages, which are currently removed. The
wss4j fails to build from source in Jessie and Unstable.

Current version in Debian is 1.5.8. On the upstream website, versions
 1.5.12
and 1.6.12 are available. The 1.6 line diverged after 1.5.11. A version
1.5.13, fixing some extra bugs, is available as a SVN tag but is not
 advertised
 on the upstream website.

The Debian package contains a patch removing some code related to SAML,
 for a
reason that I do not remember. This patch does not apply cleanly to
 version
1.5.12, and I suppose it will be the same for 1.6.12. For this reason, I
 could
not test if updating to one of the latest upstream releases will make the
 wss4j
package build again for source. Not knowing Java enough, I could not go
 further.

 My questions are the following:

  - Is wss4j still needed in Debian ? Would Eucalyptus 3.0 still use it ?
  - Is the Java team interested by taking it over, in any case ?

Here is the extract of the build log that was sent to the bug report.

Do you plan uploading the NMU change?
There are two other RC bugs which are fixed upstream and including the
fixes for them, too, would unblock Emacs 24's migration to testing,
 which would be great.

I'm actually working on it myself. I have this fix ready to go, and
plan to deal with the remaining issues in the next day or so. I would
expect an upload before the end of the week.

pod2man became more stricter; a fix is trivial, upload will follow quite

Package: dh-python
Version: 1.20130913-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

sip4 is now BD-uninstallable everywhere (the experimental upload) due to:

  sip4 (= 4.15.2-1) build-depends on one of:
  - python3-all-dbg (= 3.3.2-15)
  python3-all-dbg (= 3.3.2-15) depends on one of:
  - python3 (= 3.3.2-15)
  python3 (= 3.3.2-15) depends on one of:
  - dh-python (= 1.20130913-1)
  dh-python (= 1.20130913-1) depends on missing:
  - python3:any (= 3.2.3-3~)

It looks like the multi-arch changes in the last upload were premature.

Given that this could have been fixed at any point since wheezy, and
wasn't, I think it's clear that we need some kind of forcing function to
get our infrastructure fixed. I've already fixed some related things
and am willing to spend time on it this week one way or another.

This is fixed now and the buildds are catching up:

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.8/g++-4.8, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.7/g++-4.7. The
severity of this report may be raised before the jessie release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs-20130217/gcc48/psychtoolbox-3_3.0.9+svn2579.dfsg1-1_unstable_gcc48.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 4.8, either set CC=gcc-4.8 CXX=g++-4.8 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t experimental install g++ g++-4.7 g++-4.8 libc6-dev

The test rebuild was done with eglibc-2.17 and GCC-4.8, so some issues
might be caused by the updated glibc.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

Due to the recent switch of pandoc data files to his own package
named pandoc-data.

That RC bug also applies to unstable, as does the fix in -0exp3.

As -0exp2 was uploaded to unstable, starting a transition there, please
could you ensure that the bugs are fixed in unstable?

OK, I just upload as 2.4.6.1+dfsg-1 to unstable.

 Hi Nobuhiro,

I've prepared an upload based on the patch from [1] and uploaded an NMU
to DELAYED/3. The complete debdiff is attached.
Would be great if you can review the patch and integrate it in your next
 upload.
If you want me to cancel the non-maintainer upload and make the upload
 yourself, just let me know.

 Cheers,

Bug#722548: ampache: uses ucf on symlinks

2013-09-23 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Followup-For: Bug #722548
Control: found -1 3.6-rzb2752+dfsg-2

Problem is still present. There is a ucf bug (just filed #724457), but
the primary cause is that ampache does two conflicting things on
/etc/ampache/ampache.conf:

  * it is shipped as a symlink to /usr/share/ampache/www/config/ampache.conf

  * ucf/ucfr are used to place and register a configuration file there

You should probably stop shipping the link.

Andreas

PS: to reproduce:

apt-get install ampache
apt-get install --reinstall ampache
dpkg --purge ampache

Ok, go ahead, I'll do another upload then after the transition is
 through.

I've uploaded the NMU to DELAYED/2 versioned as 4.0.4-1.1.

I had to do some more changes. I've missed that miro uses the ffmpeg
binary which is also going away. The attached patch additionally
converts from ffmpeg to avconv (from libav-tools) and changes the
parameters used to do the conversions to what avconv expects.

Cheers

 Please add Depends: python-samba

No, the problem is related to #705908, the libsmbclient package is
missing a dependency on samba-common-bin (!?) for the private
libraries therein.

 $ objdump -p /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libsmbclient.so.0 | \
   grep 'NEEDED.*libmsrpc3.so'
 $ dpkg -S libmsrpc3.so
 samba-common-bin: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba/libmsrpc3.so

I suspect there might be other samba packages missing intradependencies
on their packages providing private libraries, that will need review.

Thanks,
Guillem

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/lib/pion/plugins/AllowNothingService.so
  /usr/lib/pion/plugins/CookieService.so

The package is probably not needed now, but I'm interested in
maintaining it as it could be useful for a future package. I just need
someone to move it under pkg-java on alioth (I don't think I have commit
 rights on pkg-eucalyptus).

Hi Emmanuel,

thanks a lot for the help.

Once you have transferred the package to the Java team, please delete it from
the pkg-eucalyptus repository.

Have a nice day,

Bug#724465: editra: Includes base64-encoded exe file without source code

2013-09-23 Thread Olly Betts
Package: editra
Version: 0.7.20-2
Severity: serious
Justification: contains binary without corresponding source code

src/ebmlib/_winrecycle.py (present in both the source and binary
packages) contains a base64 encoded .exe file - there's no source code
supplied for this file anywhere I can find in the package.

You can extract the exe like so:

$ cd src/ebmlib
$ python -c 'import _winrecycle; open(recycle.exe,
wb).write(_winrecycle.recycle)'
$ ls -l recycle.exe
-rw-r--r-- 1 olly olly 17587 Sep 24 16:05 recycle.exe

Cheers,
Olly

Hi,

a test with piuparts revealed that your package uses files from
/usr/share/doc in its maintainer scripts which is a violation of
Policy 12.3: Packages must not require the existence of any files in
/usr/share/doc/ in order to function.
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html#s12.3

These files must be moved to /usr/share/$PACKAGE and may be symlinked
from /usr/share/doc/$PACKAGE.

This piuparts test prevents the installation of (most) files into
/usr/share/doc with 'dpkg --path-exclude=...'.

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

 .
   * Team upload.
   * Adjust the packaging for the new Apache 2.4 web server.
 - Rename apache2 to cortado.conf and install the server configuration with
   cortado.install to /etc/apache2/conf-available.
 - Convert cortado.postinst and cortado.postrm to use
apache2-maintscript-helper. Do not rely on files in
/usr/share/doc/cortado anymore. Thanks to Andreas Beckmann for the
report.
   (Closes: #710263)
 - Add cortado.maintscript to ensure the old web server configuration is
preserved during an upgrade from Wheezy to Jessie and moved to the
   new conf-available directory.
   * Bump compat level to 9 and require debhelper = 9.
   * debian/control:
 - Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.4, no changes.
 - Use canonical VCS-URI.
 - Use a different short description for libcortado-java.
 - Remove alternative apache2-mpm-worker dependency because it is obsolete.
 - Remove ucf dependency, not needed.
 - Downgrade dependency on apache2 | httpd to Recommends because web
applications should not depend unconditionally on apache2.
 - cortado: Relax dependency on libcortado-java to (= ${source:Version})
 - Remove obsolete Replaces field for libcortado-java.
   * Fix lintian warning copyright-refers-to-symlink-license.
   * Remove destdir.diff patch. It was not applied anyway.

Bug#724465: editra: Includes base64-encoded exe file without source code

2013-09-23 Thread Olly Betts
Source: wxwidgets2.8
Version: 2.8.12.1-16
Severity: serious
Justification: contains binary without corresponding source code

wxwidgets2.8 contains an embedded copy of editra (only in the source
package - we deliberately don't package this as there's a separate
package for editra), and editra contains a python script with a base64
encoded .exe file - there's no source code supplied for this .exe file
anywhere I can find in the package:

wxPython/wx/tools/Editra/src/ebmlib/_winrecycle.py

I've already reported bug #724465 against editra for this issue in
the editra package, but wxwidgets2.8's orig source tarball will need
another repack. I'm working on this already - just filing this bug as
a public note of the issue.

Cheers,
Olly
