Bug#719208: file conflicts in mediawiki / mediawiki-extensions

2013-12-31 Thread Thorsten Glaser
Hi *,

I’ve had a look at this again. Helmut had suggested that I split
the installed trees between core and extensions into two separate
directories (instead of combining them into one directory with
entries being sometimes symlinks, sometimes directories, under
/var/lib/mediawiki/extensions), but this would be futile: hundreds
of files (in core, core-extensions and extra-extensions) hardcode
the path.

I shall be trying something else.

bye,
//mirabilos

Hi

To have this issues tracked: Upstream announced new security releases
for mediawiki:

http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2013-November/073115.html

for mediawiki these are:

* Kevin Israel (Wikipedia user PleaseStand) identified and reported two
vectors for injecting Javascript in CSS that bypassed MediaWiki's blacklist
(CVE-2013-4567, CVE-2013-4568).
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55332

* Internal review while debugging a site issue discovered that MediaWiki
and the CentralNotice extension were incorrectly setting cache headers when
a user was autocreated, causing the user's session cookies to be cached,
and returned to other users (CVE-2013-4572).

/var/lib/mediawiki/extensions/Renameuser/Renameuser.alias.php
/var/lib/mediawiki/extensions/Renameuser/Renameuser.i18n.php
/var/lib/mediawiki/extensions/Renameuser/Renameuser_body.php

If I do 'apt-get install --reinstall mediawiki', then it will complain that
the following files are incorrect:

/usr/share/mediawiki-extensions/base/Renameuser/Renameuser.alias.php
/usr/share/mediawiki-extensions/base/Renameuser/Renameuser.i18n.php
/usr/share/mediawiki-extensions/base/Renameuser/Renameuser_body.php

And if I do 'apt-get install --reinstall mediawiki-extensions-base', then
it will complain about the /var/lib/mediawiki files... Is there any way to fix
this?

Package: mpv
Version: 0.3.0-1
Severity: serious

Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

mpv fails to build from source on mips/mipsel/powerpc/sparc with the
following error message:

| [243/243] linking - build/mpv
| common/msg.c.10.o: In function `mp_msg_update_msglevels':
| /«PKGBUILDDIR»/build/../common/msg.c:243: undefined reference to
`__sync_add_and_fetch_8'
| collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
| Waf: Leaving directory `/«PKGBUILDDIR»/build'
| Build failed

The problem is that the new version of mpv tries to uses 64-bit GCC
legacy atomic builtins [1], which are not all available on all
architectures.

The solution to this problem is to use the new GCC atomics, similar
to the C11 ones [2]. For that you need GCC 4.8, which is unfortunately
not the default on all architectures, and to link with libatomic. The
later library provides a fallback implementation if a given atomic bultin
is not available natively, which is usually the case for 64-bit atomics
on 32-bit platforms.

The patch below implements that and should fix the problem, though I
have only tested it on mips so far.

Package: libghc-pandoc-dev
Version: 1.11.1-5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

I'm trying to install libghc-xmonad-dev and libghc-xmonad-contrib-dev so many of
the packages I use in my xmonad.hs file will work without generating errors.
Both of these packages depend on libghc-pandoc-dev, which cannot be installed
because it depends on libghc-citeproc-hs-dev-0.3.8-3a7e2. At this time, it
appears that I can only install libghc-citeproc-hs-dev-0.3.9-1 with the command
aptitude install libghc-citeproc-hs-dev. There appears to be no candidate
version of 0.3.8-3a7e2 in my standard repository (http.debian.net).

I cannot recompile my XMonad configuration because of this, so I must live with
any
logic or usability errors I have until this gets corrected.

Bug#733184: libmicrohttpd: FTBFS on kfreebsd-* (symbol errors)

2013-12-31 Thread Bertrand Marc
Hi,

Thank you for reporting this FTBS. It seems that EXPORT.sym was ignored
due to a misconfiguration upstream. This was easily fixed after
contacting the main upstream coder.

I prepared a new package fixing the list of exported symbols and
therefore the build failure on kfreebsd-* and uploaded it on mentors [1].

My sponsor is not responsive these days, would you consider sponsoring
my upload ?

Regards,
Bertrand

Hi,

tcos-standalone uses depends on python-eggtrayicon, which is going to be removed
from the archive as soon as wheezy is released. tcos-standalone should either
switch to gtk.StatusIcon and depend on python-gtk2 (which is a better and well
maintained tray icon implementation) or make the tray icon use optional.

Hi,

tcosmonitor-common uses depends on python-eggtrayicon, which is going to be
removed from the archive as soon as wheezy is released. tcosmonitor-common
should either switch to gtk.StatusIcon and depend on python-gtk2 (which is a
better and well maintained tray icon implementation) or make the tray icon use
optional.

Looks like this has been fixed an other way,

Also, the patch makes libupsclient export new symbols (from libcommon),
that's probably not wanted.

Bug#733742: rpcbind: cannot get uid of '': Transport endpoint is not connected

2013-12-31 Thread cameron
I can confirm that this bug causes rpcbind to not start, including on
my Upstart system. This is obviously caused by the Tue, 31 Dec upload
by anibal. I suspect that it is either due to the init script patch by
Andersson or the no fork mode that came with the new upstream version.

Bug#730685: wheezy-only backporting bug; does not affect jessie or sid

2013-12-31 Thread tony mancill
Hello Release Team:

I am contacting you for guidance on this bug. It affects backporting
this package to wheezy, but not jessie or sid. Therefore, I don't think
it should be considered RC (and don't want to see the package removed
from testing), although it's obviously helpful to have the bug report in
the BTS to alert users to the issue with backporting the package.

Is the right thing to do to reduce the severity? Would the release team
consider tagging it jessie-ignore?

Cheers,
tony

Hello, Golangers,

(Thanks for maintaining go, I'm wearing my `go' shit art we speak!)

It appears there are binaries in the source tarball. Those will need to
be removed - I understand they're just for the test suite; yes, this
isn't great, but it's needed to comply with the DFSG.

In adition, re-generating src/pkg/compress/flate/fixedhuff.go at
build-time would be good as well.

In addition, y'all should be aware debian/* is licensed GPL. Since you
patch the source, this may not be doing what you intend.

Thanks!
  Paul

I am contacting you for guidance on this bug. It affects backporting
this package to wheezy, but not jessie or sid. Therefore, I don't think
it should be considered RC (and don't want to see the package removed
from testing), although it's obviously helpful to have the bug report in
the BTS to alert users to the issue with backporting the package.

Is the right thing to do to reduce the severity? Would the release team
 consider tagging it jessie-ignore?

 Cheers,
 tony

I think reducing it to important would be reasonable in this case,
provided it does not affect testing or sid. That said, the bug is
currently not affecting testing nor sid (due to the wheezy tag), so it
would not have been auto-removed.

Bug#733771: trinity: FTBFS on most architectures: wants linux-headers(-amd64)

2013-12-31 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: trinity
Version: 1.2-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Trinity's build dependencies are unsatisfiable on most architectures
because they include

  linux-headers-amd64 | linux-headers-generic | linux-headers

but linux-headers-amd64 is naturally amd64-specific and the
alternatives don't exist at all these days, per #724569. (Even if
they did, the autobuilders would still ignore them in the absence of
explicit architecture restrictions, for the sake of reproducibility.)

That said, it's not clear what good this build dependency does anyway
-- the only kernel headers that wind up in the default include path
are from linux-libc-dev, which is already an explicit build
dependency (not to mention transitively build-essential on Linux).
Could you please try removing it altogether?

Thanks!

Builds of bear on several architectures, including i386, failed
because the run_exec_anatomy test encountered an error:

   5: Test command: /«PKGBUILDDIR»/obj-*/test/exec_anatomy/run.sh
5: Test timeout computed to be: 9.99988e+06

The error occurs on every 32 bit architecture. But it never built there
before so it's not a regression. Lowering the severity to important.

You can find the full logs at

Could you please take a look?

Already reported upstream yesterday.

Bug#567210: libsaxonb-java: doc-available always returns false without network

2013-12-31 Thread tony mancill
Control: -1 tag +help

Hello,

The patch/different arguments for invoking saxonb-xslt attached to this
bug report doesn't appear to work with the test case provided by Brian
Carlson and current version of libsaxonb-java in the archive in
jessie/sid. Or at least it's not working for me; it hangs after the
first Requested document is file:/path/to/index.xhtml and I can
confirm via wireshark that it is phoning home to www.w3.org.

I also tried specifying the Apache resolver (as in [0], but with the
paths updated to match Debian's libxml-commons-resolver1.1-java JAR,
etc.), and it hangs in the same way.

Can someone demonstrate test cases that show that this bug is addressed?

Thank you,
tony

Bug#733825: apt-listchanges: missing dependency on dpkg-dev

2013-12-31 Thread Ben Armstrong
Package: apt-listchanges
Version: 2.85.12
Severity: serious

apt-listchanges now needs a dependency on dpkg-dev. If you don't have
dpkg-dev installed, when apt-listchanges attempts to execute
dpkg-architecture it results in this traceback and error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File /usr/bin/apt-listchanges, line 250, in module

File /usr/bin/apt-listchanges, line 148, in main

config.reverse)
  File /usr/share/apt-listchanges/DebianFiles.py, line 143, in extract_changes

'-qDEB_HOST_ARCH']).rstrip()

  File /usr/lib/python2.7/subprocess.py, line 1326, in _execute_child

Installing dpkg-dev solves the problem. So does downgrading to 2.85.11.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As
per definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for
a release, thus the severity.

This was observed while testing the installation of redmine-mysql with
installation of Recommends being enabled.

Bug#733831: wiggle: FTBFS on big endian (mips, powerpc, s390x sparc) but built previously

2013-12-31 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
Package: wiggle
Severity: serious
Version: 0.9.1-1
Tags: jessie sid powerpc mips s390x sparc
Justification: FTBFS

Dear Maintainer,

I have noticed that wiggle did not enter testing, since the upload in
may. It appears that test-suite fails on big endian architectures, yet
package used to built on those. [1,2]

I've also tried building current git snapshot of wiggle, and that fails
test-suite as well.

One option is to ask ftp-master to decruft (remove big-endian packages
of wiggle from testing) such that wiggle can migrate to testing for all
little-endian ports.

Another option is to fix the big-endian build-failures and close this
bug report by uploading wiggle that passes test-suite on big-endian
machines. Unless the package is little-endian only, in that case simply
stick with the first option.

I'm also CC'ing upstream author of wiggle, to look into big-endian
test-failures. Maybe it's something obvious for Neil =)

Click on Build-Attempted for view full build log.

There have been a lot of fixes since the 0.9.1 version currently in Debian
 and v1.0 has been released.
I would suggest trying v1.0 and see if the test failures are fixed there or
 not.

I don't have access to a big-endian so I cannot easily perform the tests and
 find the cause directly.

I have access to a debian porter-box big-endian (powerpc) and the
latest git clone also fails in similar fashion. I'll try to get the
logs over. I'm not sure what's the procedure for non-debian-developers
to gain access to those machines. But I guess I can act as a proxy.

Dimitri.

Bug#733848: pandas: FTBFS with matplotlib 1.3

2013-12-31 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
Source: pandas

Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Dear Maintainer,

Two tests in pandas testsuite fail with new matplotlib versions:

ERROR: test_gaps (pandas.tseries.tests.test_plotting.TestTSPlot)

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

On the new 2.5 version the headers are located at
'/usr/include/freetype2/ftglyph.h' instead of
'/usr/include/freetype2/freetype/ftglyph.h' like in previous versions.

thanks for the analysis... I believe upstream is about to come up with a
new release, or if not there is at least a RC -- I might simply upload
that one to unstable some time soon and making sure this problem is gone
(will update my sid buildbot used by the project's CI)
