No, you should never send those mails to someone out of your domain. If you
don't want to expose this, don't send this mails.

This is entirely configurable and there is no useful option for amavis to
prevent this problem. Therefore I'll close this bug.

If you disagree feel free to reopen the bug, but imho this is a user
configuration problem and no software problem.

Package: seahorse
Version: 3.8.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
When I open seahorse from the Gnome menu via Passwords and Keys as a regular
user and select view by keyring, seahorse immediately exits. It will not start
again and immediately crashes. When started from the commandline, it just
displays the following:

ray@woodrabbit:~$ seahorse
** Message: init gpgme version 1.4.1
Segmentation fault

I can start seahorse as root from the commandline and don't get an immediate
crash, however when i select any different view, there is no change in the
actual view in the GUI and the following errors are given:

(seahorse:21216): dconf-WARNING **: failed to commit changes to dconf: The
connection is closed

(seahorse:21216): dconf-WARNING **: failed to commit changes to dconf: The
connection is closed

(seahorse:21216): dconf-WARNING **: failed to commit changes to dconf: The
connection is closed

Reverting to the package in stable (3.4.1-2), all functions operate properly.
I was unable to find the debugging symbols, and can provide a backtrace if
details can be provided how to go about obtaining one. Incidentally I was also
receiving the
same Glib-GIO-WARNING messages as the commenter to bug #644623 posted on 29 Jun
2013, but I'm unable to reproduce them now.

Bug#745798: Priority

2014-05-10 Thread Brian May
severity 745798 important
thanks

Severity serious is for serious policy violations. As this is not a Debian
policy violation, serious is not applicable.

The bug doesn't make the package unusable, cause data loss, or introduce a
security hole on the systems where it is installed. So neither grave or
critical are applicable either.

As per information available at https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer

Hence, changing this to important.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

Hi,

ruby-libvirt 0.5.1-1 FTBFS on all buildds. It seems that the test
suite attempts to connect to an existing libvirt daemon, and fails:

2014-05-10 Thread Laurent Bigonville
reopen 668890
thanks

Hi,

I'm reopening this bug as I also feel that an initscript shouldn't call
su at all and use start-stop-daemon instead.

Using su is starting a PAM session which can call a bunch a modules
including modules like pam_systemd or pam_ck_connector which can cause
issues like #727645.

Please switch to start-stop-daemon like proposed in the previous
message.

Cheers,

Laurent Bigonville

Bug#665720: iptables-persistent: unusable with systemd

Hi,

Well this is a little embarassing. I'll upload a fix shortly, so I'd
appreciate testing.

I couldn't actually reproduce the failure to boot in a freshly installed
system, so I suspect this is probably a combination of additional packages
you have installed. Downgrading a little for this reason.

Base class package Exporter::TypeTiny is empty.
(Perhaps you need to 'use' the module which defines that package first,
or make that module available in @INC (@INC contains:
 /tmp/buildd/libsql-abstract-more-perl-1.17/blib/lib
 /tmp/buildd/libsql-abstract-more-perl-1.17/blib/arch /etc/perl
 /usr/local/lib/perl/5.18.2 /usr/local/share/perl/5.18.2 /usr/lib/perl5
 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.18 /usr/share/perl/5.18
 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .).
  at /usr/share/perl5/Scalar/Does.pm line 72.

So, it looks like Scalar::Does (in libscalar-does-perl) needs
Exporter::TypeTiny, which _was_ in libtype-tiny-perl but is gone
since 0.042 there. (Or 0.039_01, according to the upstream changlog.)

And then we have
+0.029_01 2013-09-26
+
+ - Replace Exporter::TypeTiny with Exporter::Tiny (an external dependency).

And Scalar::Does says:

+0.201 2013-09-30
+ - Updated: Use Exporter::Tiny instead of Exporter::TypeTiny.

Unfortunately we still have 0.200 in Debian.
On the bright side, we know what to do :)

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#743141: system hangs when building gcc on kfreebsd-amd64

2014-05-10 Thread Christoph Egger
Hi!

Steven Chamberlain ste...@pyro.eu.org writes:
 Everything can be deleted from
 ~/gcc-4.7-4.7.3/src/gcc/testsuite/gcc.c-torture/compile/ except for
pr44686.c, which necessitates building tls_runtime, which triggers the
 bug immediately.

The tls_runtime exe survives a reboot if building on ufs mounted with -o
sync. But executing it manually (in the same cwd, with the same
LD_LIBRARY_PATH) doesn't trigger a crash, it just exits with status 0.

Running the testsuite under ktrace doesn't help because it does not seem
to flush any data to ktrace.out soon enough to survive the crash.

Running the testsuite under gdb it still crashes the whole system, and I
don't know how/where I could set a breakpoint in order to get more details.

Did you manage to figure something additional out? Do we know if this
also kills plain freebsd?

Thanks

  Christoph

Evidently (as it was built in amd64) testsuite no longer fails since the

Hi,

HAL has been deprecated and dead upstream for many years now so I'm
going to request its removal from Debian [1].

Your package build with HAL support on non-Linux plattforms.

Please disable HAL support on those plattforms.

Regards,
Michael

Bug#747535: Please don't make upgrades noisier than necessary

2014-05-10 Thread Carlos Alberto Lopez Perez
On 10/05/14 05:26, Josh Triplett wrote:
If the maintainers of the packages involved have done their jobs well
(and they have), upgrading should be an entirely smooth process. Much
like upgrading to a new version of the Linux kernel or a new bootloader,
you won't actually get the new version until you reboot, so there may be
value in a you need to reboot reminder after finishing the upgrade,
but that's true for just about every Debian major release upgrade.
However, adding a new prompt *before* the upgrade just makes the upgrade
process that much less pleasant for everyone who *doesn't* actually hold
religious opinions about init systems, which in practice is a far
greater chunk of Debian users than those who do. In practice, upgrading
from GNOME 2 to GNOME 3 will have a more noticeable impact on the user,
and we don't nag the user with a debconf prompt about that either, nor
 should we.

Upgrading from one Debian major release to another makes a large number
of substantial changes to the system; for example, it may replace
module-init-tools with the completely reimplemented kmod-based tools.
Those changes don't merit debconf noise either.

This makes sense when what is replaced not longer exists on Debian (that
are precisely you examples: GNOME2 or module-init-tools).

*But*, when you are replace something that will continue to be on Debian
and to be supported, then is a serious bug.

This bug is like if tomorrow Debian decides that default MTA should be
Postfix, and on upgrade you replace my MTA (Exim) with Postfix. I would
scream to you very loud.

The default has changed (systemd), but the previous default (sysvinit)
is *not* gone. So you can't replace it on upgrades without asking the
administrator first. Full period.

Hello,

When attempting to build autogen version from experimental, the build locks
in the

errors.test test.

From information supplied by Andreas, I have determined that the shell process
being run by autogen is trying to tell autogen to die with several kill signals.
It is not dying. It would be interesting to know exactly which platforms show
this problem. I saw an email of the issue on a Debian kfreebsd build. (What is
that? Is it Debian or FreeBSD?)

https://buildd.debian.org/fetch.cgi?pkg=autogenarch=kfreebsd-i386ver=1%3A5.18.3%7Epre34-1stamp=1399469529file=log

Anyway, the new die function will wait a full second and finally use kill -9,
if autogen hangs around through 3 kills (TERM, INT and HUP) and 3 seconds.

symlink in /usr/share, which made the game run. It did complain
about welltris.scores though, which probably needs a similar fix.

Bug#668890: Please use start-stop-daemon in initscript

2014-05-10 Thread Martin Steigerwald
Dear maintainer,

I agree with Maurizio and Laurent.

I tested using start-stop-daemon as in the following patch and hibernation
in KDE works nicely with it.

I used the patch of Maurizio, but splitted the call to start-stop-daemon into
mutiple lines and KMail should post this without wordwrap issues.

With this patch and systemd enabled, which just runs this init script as
there is no service file yet in dirmngr package, I get dirmngr running as

merkaba:~ ps aux | grep dirmngr | grep -v grep
dirmngr 1092 0.0 0.0 17412 1700 ?Ss 20:06 0:00
/usr/bin/dirmngr --daemon --sh

which seems to be correct to me.

Please apply either Maurizio´s or my variant of the patch. All credits go to
Maurizio of course.

Hi,

Your package seems to include some files that lack sources
in prefered forms of modification:

share/tools/web_config/jquery.js

According to Debian Free Software Guidelines [1] (DFSG) #2:
The program must include source code, and must allow distribution
in source code as well as compiled form..

This could also constitute a license violation for some copyleft licenses such
as the GNU GPL.

In order to solve this problem, you could:
1. repack the origin tarball adding the missing source to it.
2 add the source files to debian/missing-sources directory

Both way satisfies the requirement that we ship the source. Second option
might be preferable due to the following reasons [2]:
 - Upstream can do it too and you could even supply a patch to them, thus full
filling our social contract [3], see particularly §2.
 - If source and non-source are in different locations, ftpmasters may
miss the source and (needlessly) reject the package.
 - The source isn't duplicated in every .diff.gz/.debian.tar.* (though
this only really matters for larger sources).

You could also ask debian...@lists.debian.org or #debian-qa for more
guidance.

Bug#747666: Redefined macro messages scrolling by when compiling exhaust console backlog

2014-05-10 Thread Benny Baumann
Package: opensmtpd
Severity: serious
Tags: upstream patch
Justification: fails to build from source

When building this package a shitload of repeated warnings about a redefined
macro scroll by exhausting my precious console backlog unnecessarily.

The attached patch fixes this issue.

Kind regards,
Benny Baumann

Bug#747670: cryptsetup should depend on a version of cryptsetup-bin that support --type option

2014-05-10 Thread Nicolas de Pesloüan
Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.6.4-4
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Because cryptoroot (form cryptsetup) now use --type option of cryptsetup,
package cryptsetup should depend on a version of cryptsetup-bin that provide a
version of cryptsetup binary that support --type option.

Else, if cryptsetup happens to be updated without cryptsetup-bin being updated,
the system won't boot anymore.

I was able to boot with an older version of the kernel, so was able to update
cryptsetup-bin. This solved the problem.

By means of

test -x $DAEMON || exit 0

the initscript disables itself if /usr/sbin/dnsmasq is not installed. But
this binary belongs to another package, dnsmasq-base. So the initscript
disables itself if and only if that other package, dnsmasq-base, is not
installed.

Whereas Debian policy says (§9.3.2) that the initscript should disable
itself if the package that owns the initscript is not installed.

As a result of this error, someone who installs dnsmasq and later removes
dnsmasq and not dnsmasq-base still has a fully functional dnsmasq package.

A case of this was reported at

Bug#747673: Horrid default cipher settings without option to adjust them to sane values

2014-05-10 Thread Benny Baumann
Package: ejabberd
Version: 2.1.11-1
Severity: grave
Tags: security

When setting up ejabberd with a default configuration it allows only connections
with a weak SSL configuration - if this is even configured:

1. By default ejabberd allows SSLv3 which is broken in various ways
and thus should no longer be used.

2. By default ejabberd uses weak cipher suites that make use of weak primitives
like DES, RC2, RC4, MD5, export ciphers.

3. By default ejabberd does not provide ANY ciphers that make use of forward
secrecy and thus jeopardizes the communication of users that crossed this
server in case of a private key compromise.

4. Most importantly ejabberd does not provide any way to adjust the accepted
security parameters (acceptable protocol versions, cipher string, cipher
ordering, used ECC curves, used ECDHE/DHE parameters)

Please make sure that a default configuration can be configured to use strong
cryptography, using non-broken primitives and does so by default.

Kind regards,
Benny Baumann

Please take the time to take a look at some of the issues that lintian

Justification: FTBFS on amd64

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on
amd64.

Relevant part (hopefully):
checking whether to use NLS... yes
checking where the gettext function comes from... libc
 checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
 checking for TICABLES... yes
configure: error: Package requirements (ticalcs2 = 1.0.7) were not met

Package 'libarchive', required by 'tifiles2', not found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables TICALCS_CFLAGS
and TICALCS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

The full build log is available from:

http://aws-logs.debian.net/ftbfs-logs/2014/04/26/tiemu_3.03-nogdb+dfsg-2_unstable.log

A list of current common problems and possible solutions is available at
http://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS . You're welcome to contribute!

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on EC2 VM instances from
Amazon Web Services, using a clean, minimal and up-to-date chroot. Every
failed build was retried once to eliminate random failures.
