Bug#750813: pyzmq: FTBFS on kfreebsd* and mips*

2014-06-07 Thread Scott Kitterman
Source: pyzmq
Version: 14.3.0-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

The current pymzq upload FTBFS on the mentioned architectures. The mips*
failures are different than the kfreebsd* failures. This package is part
of the transition to remove python3.3 from the archive.

Issue seems unrelated to python3.3 transition:
/usr/lib/jvm/default-java/include/jni.h:52:20: fatal error: jni_md.h: No
such file or directory
 #include jni_md.h

My understanding is that the file should come from gcj-4.*-jdk which we
like to pull in via build-dep default-jdk. However, on kfreebsd* that is
rather a low version. I have no knowledge of java at all, but I expect
the default-jdk to be so low for a reason. /do we need to explicitly add
the gcj package for kfreebsd*?

Bug#750816: xnetcardconfig: not installable in sid

2014-06-07 Thread Ralf Treinen
Package: xnetcardconfig
Version: 0.2.1-1
Severity: grave
User: trei...@debian.org
Usertags: edos-uninstallable

xnetcardconfig depends on libgtk2-ruby, which does not exist in sid.
Hence, xnetcardconfig is not installable in sid on any architecture.
This problem exists at least since 2014-04-05.

-Ralf.

Bug#750340: Recompilation of CastleStringUtils

2014-06-07 Thread Michalis Kamburelis
In case of recursive unit dependencies, FPC sometimes wants to recompile
the units even though nothing changed. See e.g.
http://bugs.freepascal.org/view.php?id=12223 .

Possibly this is the reason of problems mentioned here. As Castle Game
Engine sources are not available anymore (only the compiled .ppu) when
compiling view3dscene.

Try compiling the Castle Game Engine sources with -Ur to avoid this.

Michalis

Bug#750805: libpcap: Makes Wireshark FTBFS on kfreebsd-any

2014-06-07 Thread Romain Francoise
Thanks for the report. The real error is in config.log:

| conftest.c: In function 'main':
| conftest.c:70:1: warning: old-style function definition
[-Wold-style-definition]
| /usr/lib/x86_64-kfreebsd-gnu/libpcap.so: undefined reference to
`__compiler_membar'
| collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

so I guess libpcap is completely broken on kfreebsd. This symbol
actually matches a dpkg-shlibdeps warning that appeared with the last
build, but as I didn't change anything to the kfreebsd code I didn't
investigate.

This must be a toolchain issue, I'll ask on the kfreebsd mailing list.

Actually there's no need, this looks like a plain bug in
kfreebsd-kernel-headers, it was updated to the FreeBSD 10 versions which
include this change:

  http://svnweb.freebsd.org/base?view=revisionrevision=241374

but the version of sys/cdefs.h shipped by libc0.1-dev doesn't define
the macro...

Control: severity -1 wishlist

Hi,

This bug is about problems with the upgrade to the dash version in squeeze. As
we don't support upgrades over multiple versions, this is no longer a grave
issue for wheezy or later, so I'm downgrading this bug.

Please note that #538822 was also downgraded.

Cheers,

Neither of the Python bindings packages have any python interpreter depends,
which they require to work. This is due to missing subsitution variables in

Bug#750833: hardcodes shared libraries in Depends

2014-06-07 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
Source: charybdis
Severity: serious
Control: block 749880 by -1

Your package has in debian/control:

Depends: ${shlibs:Depends},
 ${misc:Depends},
 libgnutls28,
 libz1,
 libsqlite3-0,
 adduser

This is wrong and leads to things like in the last binnmu:

Depends: libc6 (= 2.15), libgcrypt11 (= 1.5.1), libgnutls-deb0-28 (=
3.2.10-0), libsqlite3-0 (= 3.5.9), zlib1g (= 1:1.1.4), libgnutls28, libz1,
adduser

Please drop the unnecessary lib* dependencies and let shlibs:Depends do its job.

Thanks
Emilio

Bug#750836: machine/atomic.h broken, missing __compiler_membar macro

2014-06-07 Thread Romain Francoise
Package: kfreebsd-kernel-headers
Version: 10.0~5
Severity: serious

libpcap is broken on kfreebsd since kfreebsd-kernel-headers was updated
to the FreeBSD 10 headers, which apparently include this change:

 http://svnweb.freebsd.org/base?view=revisionrevision=241374

The sys/cdefs.h file shipped in libc0.1-dev doesn't include the
__compiler_membar macro, so anything that uses the atomic functions will
get a spurious undefined reference. Here's a quick test program:

| #include sys/types.h
| #include sys/cdefs.h
| #include machine/atomic.h
|
| int main(int argc, char **argv)
| {
|   unsigned int p, v = 0;
|   atomic_store_rel_int(p, v);
|   return 0;
| }

this gives:

| rfrancoise@falla ~ % gcc -Wall -o test test.c
| /tmp/cczzxYAr.o: In function `atomic_store_rel_int':
| test.c:(.text+0x15): undefined reference to `__compiler_membar'
| collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
| rfrancoise@falla ~ %

The rpcbind SysV init script though depends on $network itself. This leads
to a dependency loop.

Under systemd, where those dependencies are evaluated during runtime this
results in a dead lock.

Since systemd has builtin support for mounting remote files systems, we
simply skip this hook during early.

Eventually, we should make rpcbind socket activate to break this
dependency loop, but for now this workaround will do.

As this currently breaks setups where systemd is used in combination
with NFS, we would appreciate if you can apply the attached patch in
your next upload as soon as possible.

Hi,

Currently mate-menus fails to build from source due to usage of
MAXSYMLINKS, which is not defined on GNU/Hurd. The attached patch
solves this problem by using the runtime function sysconf with argument
_SC_SYMLOOP_MAX to resolve that number.

Thanks!

Bug#750845: python-biopython: FTBFS on non-X86 due to missing build-dep raxml

2014-06-07 Thread Scott Kitterman
Source: python-biopython
Version: 1.63+dfsg-5

Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

python-biopython either needs to limit itself to being built on X86
architectures or built without raxml on the other archs. I did not check
if the latter was feasible or not. This has blocked transition to testing
for a month now. It also blocks completion of the rebuilds for dropping
python3.3 support.

Unless someone plan to maintain this software I will probably orphan

So xnetcardconfig is looking for upstream developers
so please hack the sources at :

A bug in one of the makefiles of gnustep-make causes SOGo to FTBFS
with make 4.0. The problem is that in two places there is a '/'
appended to a directory target and apparently that isn't allowed
anymore. This has already been fixed upstream with this commit:

http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/gnustep?view=revisionrevision=36185

The fix is included in the latest upstream release, so packaging the
latest version will fix the bug.

Hi.

As far as I can see on the upstream website, dcraw would build as well
against lcms2.
Could you please use that instead of lcms1, since the newer v2 supports much
more (e.g. ICC v4 profiles).

Cheers,
Chris.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.9/g++-4.9, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.8/g++-4.8. The
severity of this report may be raised before the jessie release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/failed-gcc49/libraw_0.16.0-2_unstable_gcc49.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 4.9, either set CC=gcc-4.9 CXX=g++-4.9 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures
with -Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols
files. For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide
at http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.9/porting_to.html

Hi,

The file /usr/lib/kde4/kio_sftp.so links against libssh which in turn links
against openssl. Since the sftp code whichs links to libssh is licensed under

Alternatively you could prod bug #676650 which would provide an alternate libssh
built against gnutls.

Bug#750868: lldb-3.4: no shlibs or symbols file

2014-06-07 Thread James Cowgill
Package: lldb-3.4
Version: 1:3.4.1-4

Justification: Policy 8.6

Hi,

The lldb-3.4 package provides the following shared library in a public
directory:
 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/liblldb.so

However it does not contain a symbols or shlibs file for that shared library.
This wasn't done automatically by dh_makeshlibs because shlibs files cannot be
generated for libraries without versioned sonames.

See:

Looks good, but why is this deliberate -lc needed? Is it because
lintian reports library-not-linked-with-libc? For the adaptor bundles
probably? If so, this is a lintian false positive that should be
filed as a bug against lintian; you can ignore the error.

Bug#749888: gnome-terminal: FTBFS on kfreebsd hurd archs

We can't ship unusable software in Jessie. As per -release mandate kfreebsd-*
is no exception anymore.

It's already been stablished that GDM3 is unportable, and why. If you can't
find a way to make gnome-terminal work without GDM3, then please make it
Linux-only until you can.

I'm afraid you can't rely on porter teams to fix this. gnome-terminal dependency
on GDM3 has nothing to do with porting.

Are you sure you are using the new script? What kind of error do you still
encounter?

Unfortunately the new version of initscripts (2.88dsf-53.1)

The patch in an earlier post had fixed it. I don't know
enough to be able to patch the new script so i hope
somebody here will be able to come up with something.

Bug#746358: Boot hangs if fstab contains NFS entries

2014-06-07 Thread Jason Alavaliant

I've just tested the latest initscripts package (2.88dsf-53.1)

Unfortunately the lines in adds to /etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs ;

--
# Skip the mountnfs hook when being triggered by the networking SysV init
# script and instead use the systemd built-in mechanisms to mount remote
# file systems.
# This avoids a deadlock caused by the rpcbind SysV init script depending
# on $network and the $network LSB facility being provided by the networking
# SysV init script.
if [ -d /run/systemd/system ]; then
  systemctl list-jobs | grep -q network.target exit 0
fi
-

Do not fix the problem for me and my boot started sitting on configuring
network interfaces again
(I only waited 5minutes before giving up, so I'm unsure if it was just being
very slow or if it would never have completed)

I ended up swapping out the above lines for
---
if [ -d /run/systemd/system ] ; then
   systemctl status network.target  /dev/null || exit 0
fi
---
the same as I'd been using after a previous suggestion in this bug, they
continues to work and my system now finishes
configuring network interfaces and boots successfully again.

Yeah, sorry.
Messed up the formatting pretty badly. 2.88dsf-53.2, which I just
uploaded, should work better

I've uploaded a fix for unstable and experimental to DELAYED/1.
 Debdiffs are attached.

Grr, seems I somehow managed to mess up the formatting and turned a tab
character into U+21A6. Did a follow-up upload to fix that.

Updated debdiffs attached.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.9/g++-4.9, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.8/g++-4.8. The
severity of this report may be raised before the jessie release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/failed-gcc49/sdcc_3.3.0+dfsg-1_unstable_gcc49.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 4.9, either set CC=gcc-4.9 CXX=g++-4.9 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures
with -Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols
files. For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide

Dear maintainer,

We're aiming to migrate the archive to using wxwidgets3.0 instead of
wxwidgets2.8.

I've built and done some simple testing of xmlcopyeditor with the
attached patch (no changes to the upstream code were needed) and it all
looks good.

I'm happy to NMU this change if you wish me to - just let me know.

Cheers,
Olly

Dear maintainer,

We're aiming to migrate the archive to using wxwidgets3.0 instead of
wxwidgets2.8.

I've rebuilt your package using the attached patch (a tiny patch to
the upstream Makefile to turn off wxWidgets' debug mode was all that was
required), and did some simple testing. Everything looks good to me.

I'm happy to NMU this change if you wish me to - just let me know.

Cheers,
Olly

thanks

Aaron M. Ucko u...@debian.org writes:

The problem is that python-wrapt lists python-sphinx only in
Build-Depends-Indep but unconditionally runs dh --with sphinxdoc.

Thanks for the prompt fix! However, it looks like you'll also need to
move python(3)-pytest:

set -ex for pyvers in 2.7 3.4; do \
  PYTHONPATH=. py.test-$pyvers -v tests ; \
  done
  + PYTHONPATH=. py.test-2.7 -v tests
  /bin/sh: 2: py.test-2.7: not found
  make[1]: *** [override_dh_auto_test] Error 127

I expect you'll also need to do the same for python(3)-six, which should
moreover go to Depends, since I see the installed modules import six.

Hello,

xapian-bindings build depends on ruby2.0 but it will not be shipped in
jessie. Please drop that build dependency.

To always build for the supported Ruby versions, you should probably
just drop `ruby, ruby2.0-dev, ruby2.1-dev, ruby2.0, ruby2.1` in the
Build-Depends field since `ruby-all-dev` will already pull in the right
packages at all times.
