 As far as I understand, at this point you are expected to build your own
 linux-kbuild package. Closing this bug, but CC -kernel in case they want
 to comment.

Why would a user be expected to build its own packages to satisfy a
dependency? Why not provide the appropriate package in experimental?

Bug#752927: llvm-gcc-4.7 and llvm-gcc: error when trying to install together

2014-06-28 Thread Ralf Treinen
Hi,

 (resending, free.fr rejected my first e-mail)

that was an omission in my local exim setup, should be fixed now.

 The package llvm-gcc-4.7 isn't known to the BTS, the PTS, rmadison or
 NEW. Normally I would just leave this bug as is, because it is assigned
 against an existing package (llvm-gcc), but given the nature of the bug
 I have to ask: where does the llvm-gcc-4.7 package come from?

From the dragonegg source package, in sid/main/amd64:

Package: llvm-gcc-4.7
Source: dragonegg
Version: 3.3-2

SHA256: 07c848d08873e433aadc65be82ffcea1a950c0f539ec301216684d3433bd98d5

note the source version 3.3-2. A new version 3.4-1 of the dragonegg package
was upload on 2014-06-26, maybe that is why.

 Andrei (looking after bugs filed against unknown packages)

Thanks for your effort looking after these ! Cheers -Ralf.

The pylab import is required by most matplotlib based programs.
I would expect the import to succeed without error.

Example:

$ python3 -c import matplotlib.pylab
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File string, line 1, in module
  File /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/pylab.py, line 269, in
module
from matplotlib.pyplot import *
  File /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/pyplot.py, line 98, in

pylab_setup()
  File /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/backends/__init__.py, line

import matplotlib.backends.tkagg as tkagg
  File /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/backends/tkagg.py, line 2,
in module
from matplotlib.backends import _tkagg
ImportError: cannot import name '_tkagg'
$

The error does not occur with the python2 based package python-matplotlib on my
system:
$ python -c import matplotlib.pylab
$

This bug is probably related to #750630, which however addresses the package
python-matplotlib.

The workaround that is mentioned in #750630 works with the GTK3Cairo backend
but not with the GTK backend even though I do not see what dependency (i.e.
what Debian package) is missing:

$ python3 -c import matplotlib;matplotlib.use('GTK3Cairo');import
matplotlib.pyplot as plt
$

$ python3 -c import matplotlib;matplotlib.use('GTK');import matplotlib.pyplot
as plt
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/matplotlib/backends/backend_gtk.py,
line 12, in module
import gobject

During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:

Bug#752762: load-module module-alsa-sink freezes display

2014-06-28 Thread Michael Meskes
  Jun 26 12:54:57 feivel pulseaudio[3128]: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to
  load module module-alsa-sink (argument: ): initialization failed.

 Yes, this is expected, because that module needs the card details to

Wouldn't it be better than to have the line look like this?

#load-module module-alsa-sink card-details

 load. Is this message shown only once, or repeatedly? Does the log say
 afterwards:

Only once.

 [pulseaudio] main.c: Module load failed.
 [pulseaudio] main.c: Failed to initialize daemon.

Yes, it did.

 What DE/WM are you using? Were there sounds being played at the moment?

gnome-shell, everything up-to-date sid, no sounds being displayed.

 This error is weird, because the module load failure should just cause
 pulseaudio to exit. Perhaps something caused PA to respawn repeatedly?

Does it do that if it's, like, killed at the beginning of a session?

  I tried using this module in an attempt to figure out why my sound doesn't
  work
  correctly, or in other words, not at all when using the defaults.

 For this, try using pavucontrol. There you can see if your card is
 actually being picked up.

I tried that before to no avail as there appeared to be something wrong with
pulseaudio in general. Since then I found the problem, a misconfigured default
sink in client.conf. I don't remember editing this file at all, but maybe that
was an old config from back when.

OK, I understood only later that the bug was reported against an unknown
package. I suppose that the original submitter did try to install kernel
headers some time after installing the kernel package itself.

Meantime, I have reassigned to src:linux with the appropriate version in
experimental. I have left the severity to grave but it seems a bit
excessive since it only affects experimental.

I have tried to build linux-kbuild-3.15 but this is not that easy.

npapi-vlc build-depends on xulrunner-dev, which is no longer built by
src:iceweasel. If you use it for libxul or mozilla-plugin, that is
now in iceweasel-dev. If you were using mozilla-js, you may want to

Bug#752920: libyaml-perl: YAML::Any does not define $YAML::Any::VERSION

On upstream side, YAML::Any is now deprecated. Only YAML module has an

Since YAML::Any is going out, I'm going to update upstream
Config::Model::Backend::YAML
to use directly YAML (without version requirement).

In Debian, only libtest-apocalypse-perl is likely to fail:

$ ack 'use\s+YAML::Any\s+\d' --type=perl
libconfig-model-perl/lib/Config/Model/Backend/Yaml.pm
24:use YAML::Any 0.303 ;

libconfig-model-perl/t/yaml_backend.t
11:use YAML::Any 0.303;

libtest-apocalypse-perl/lib/Test/Apocalypse/Dependencies.pm
22:use YAML::Any 0.72;

May be we should patch libtest-apocalypse-perl to use YAML directly and be
done with it.

All the best

Bug#752920: libyaml-perl: YAML::Any does not define $YAML::Any::VERSION

 Config::Model::Backend::YAML
 to use directly YAML (without version requirement).

Ah, ok.

 In Debian, only libtest-apocalypse-perl is likely to fail:

 May be we should patch libtest-apocalypse-perl to use YAML directly and be
 done with it.

Or finally remove it.
Buggy, only one upload, no rdeps, waiting for tons of newer stuff.

Bug#752845: recent libnet-dns-perl upgrade has broken policyd-weight.

2014-06-28 Thread James Cloos
 WD == Werner Detter wer...@aloah-from-hell.de writes:

WD I've prepared a new package, please test:
WD wget http://www.werner-detter.de/policyd-weight_0.1.15.2-8_all.deb

It works.

Your patch matches what I tried after sending my last note.

It is slow for un-cached senders, but those tend to be more rare than
repeat senders. And I'd have to bring up a test box to see whether
using the XS version, as it used to, also was slow for un-cached.

I guess ship it is the idiom of the day. ;^)

Package: src:taglib
Version: 1.9.1-2
Severity: important
Tags: sid jessie
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: ftbfs-gcc-4.9

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.9/g++-4.9, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.8/g++-4.8. The
severity of this report may be raised before the jessie release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/failed-gcc49/taglib_1.9.1-2_unstable_gcc49.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 4.9, either set CC=gcc-4.9 CXX=g++-4.9 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures
with -Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols
files. For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide
at http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.9/porting_to.html

Bug#750661: uninstallable

2014-06-28 Thread Vincent Bernat
 ❦ 28 juin 2014 15:02 +0200, maximilian attems m...@stro.at :

 OK, I understood only later that the bug was reported against an unknown
 package. I suppose that the original submitter did try to install kernel
 headers some time after installing the kernel package itself.

 read ml for why not provided, in any case OOT modules are not
 recommended.

I suppose the answer is in this message:
 https://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2014/06/msg00255.html

It doesn't say much why the package is not in experimental while this
was the case in the past. It seems that this bug is recurrent so I
understand why you are scarce on details. There are several bugs about
this, like #573483 and its merged neighbors. So far, none of them seem
to tell why the package doesn't exist in experimental.

I tried to build it:

apt-get source linux-kbuild-3.14
cd linux-tools-3.14
uscan --report
(nothing)

debian/rules get-orig-source
(no such rule)

./debian/bin/genorig.py -V 3.15-1 ~/download/linux-3.15.1.tar.xz
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File ./debian/bin/genorig.py, line 202, in module

version = VersionLinux('%s-undef' % override_version)
  File debian/lib/python/debian_linux/debian.py, line 148, in __init__
raise RuntimeError(uInvalid debian linux version)
RuntimeError: Invalid debian linux version
(removing this undef on line 60)

Untar the tarball, copy debian/ and modify debian/changelog to tell
3.15.

One build failure about libudev missing, another one about usbip.h not
being here. I suppose I could dig a bit more but I am unsure of what to
do from here. I really don't know why usbip is the only stuff still in
drivers/ directory. I suppose this is on purpose since there is a patch
for that. I also suppose I could patch it to use kernel header instead
of uapi one.

It doesn't seem so easy to get such a package. While writing this email,
I noticed this was documented in this wiki page:

https://wiki.debian.org/HowToRebuildAnOfficialDebianKernelPackage#How_to_build_linux-kbuild-2.6_yourself

But no clue on the specific problem I get. So, not that easy.

Bug#752946: #752946: libssl changed default ASN global mask

2014-06-28 Thread Christian Hofstaedtler
It would appear the ASN1 default mask was changed from anything to
UTF8 only in 1.0.1h; explicitly calling
  ASN1_STRING_set_default_mask(0xL)
stops the racoon test from failing.

I have no idea what the implications of the OpenSSL change are, and
what they would mean for racoon.

Thanks,
Christian

  read ml for why not provided, in any case OOT modules are not
  recommended.

 I suppose the answer is in this message:
  https://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2014/06/msg00255.html

 It doesn't say much why the package is not in experimental while this
 was the case in the past. It seems that this bug is recurrent so I

yes it is, please go back later in time with messages from waldi too.
In any case it is experimental and OOT modules are severly discouraged.

We might soon jump to 2.16-rcX, don't assume experimental stays on 2.15.

Closes: 752946
Changes:
 ipsec-tools (1:0.8.2-3) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * Update patch gcc-4.8.diff.
 As per NetBSD CVS, the memset is unneeded after (racoon_)calloc().
   * Support building with automake 1.14.
 Set required options to restore old automake behavior, and run
 autoreconf during build. Removed patches to configure, removed
 explicit rpath setting and chrpath. Dropped superfluous symbols
 files, as we are not a library package and these were probably
 added by accident.
   * Only use UTF8 encoding in ASN.1 strings.
 This is recommended by RFC2459 (2004), and has been made the default in
 OpenSSL 1.0.1h. Fixes the FTBFS caused by the OpenSSL change.

Bug#752807: Not reproducible anymore

2014-06-28 Thread Sven Bartscher
Control: severity -1 minor
Control: tag -1 + unreproducible

I noticed that I can now install both packages again. Reinstalling
libopenal1 fixed the problem.
But it's a fact that llibopenal1 and libopenal-dev contain the same
symlink? Is this intended? Should the symlink be removed from
libopenal-dev?

Regards
Sven

Bug#753053: missing dependency on python-keybinder

2014-06-28 Thread Bdale Garbee
Package: pithos
Version: 0.3.17-2
Severity: grave

Installing pithos on my notebook running xfce4 resulted in odd errors about
gstreamer not finding resources. A quick web search led me to this bug
report in launchpad:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/pithos/+bug/1007065

Manually installing python-keybinder fixed pithos, it works fine for me now
as long as I avoid mp3-hifi (bug #696496). This suggests to me that pithos
needs a dependency on python-keybinder or something else that depends on it
for it to work ok on systems where that isn't already being pulled in by
some GNOME-related stuff?

Bug#752725: zatacka: FTBFS - malformed patch 0001-kfreebsd.patch

2014-06-28 Thread Alexandre Dantas

Hello Michael, thanks for reporting this issue!
As a matter of fact all of the 3 patches had this same newline problem.

I've just fixed it, but it can't be applied because I have to solve some
issues with my gpg key.

For now it's located at the Git VCS repository[0].

Cheers,
Alexandre Dantas

Bug#750270: readahead-fedora: FTBFS: Makefile:533: *** missing separator (did you mean TAB instead of 8 spaces?)

2014-06-28 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Control: tags -1 + patch

I tried to reproduce the problem in sid, and I see it too. The makefile
in question contain this fragment, and the typo is in the lines starting
with 'dnl':

#AM_CFLAGS = -fsigned-char

dnl sysconfrcdir = $(sysconfdir)/rc.d/init.d
dnl dist_sysconfrc_SCRIPTS = readahead_early readahead_later

dnl initdir = $(sysconfdir)/init
dnl dist_init_DATA = readahead-collector.conf readahead-disable-services.conf
readahead.conf

# Tell versions [3.59,3.63) of GNU make to not export all variables.

The source of these lines is the scripts/Makefile.am file. I guess
automake changed the last few years, and no longer accept m4 comments in
the Makefile.am files.

The attached patch fixes the issue by changing 'dnl' to '#' in the
makefile, thus not depending m4 for commenting out the lines, but
instead telling make to ignore them.

Should I NMU to fix it, or will you handle it yourself? This bug will
cause readahead-fedora to disappear from Jessie in a few days, so it is
a bit urgent to fix it.

The log looks really strange. No prolog packages are built at all. It
just prints the header and stops:

I can't reproduce this bug in current sid chroot with cowbuilder (amd64).
Do you have any idea why it ignores all packages in your build?
Was the source archive unpacked correctly?

No, this is a binary package, even though it contains source. The
Debian kernel configurations are still building; the fact that your
configuration didn't work is irrelevant.

This won't be fixed unless you do provide a patch.

Bug#752926: libminizip-dev and libkml-dev: error when trying to install together

2014-06-28 Thread Michael Gilbert
 Since the libminizip from libkml is used specifically for its KMZ
 support, the bet course of action may be to rename the libkml library to
 libkmlminizip and patch gdal and osgearth accordingly.

 If the libraries are compatible (they both seem the be extracted from
 zlib), it may be wisest to drop the libminizip from libkml.

They're not compatible. ibkml adds various libkml_ methods directly
in their embedded minizip source. That's sort of the wrong way to do
it, and it would be nice to get that fixed, but it's unlikely to
happen any time soon.

The best solution for now is to add appropriate conflicts between the packages.

Best wishes,
Mike

This is a serious bug as it makes installation fail, and violates
sections 7.6.1 and 10.1 of the policy. An optimal solution would
consist in only one of the packages installing that file, and renaming
or removing the file in the other package. Depending on the
circumstances you might also consider Replace relations or file
diversions. If the conflicting situation cannot be resolved then, as a
last resort, the two packages have to declare a mutual
Conflict. Please take into account that Replaces, Conflicts and
diversions should only be used when packages provide different
implementations for the same functionality.

Here is a list of files that are known to be shared by both packages
(according to the Contents file for sid/amd64, which may be
slightly out of sync):

  /usr/include/minizip/crypt.h
  /usr/include/minizip/ioapi.h
  /usr/include/minizip/mztools.h
  /usr/include/minizip/unzip.h
  /usr/include/minizip/zip.h
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libminizip.a
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libminizip.so

This bug has been filed against both packages. If you, the maintainers of
the two packages in question, have agreed on which of the packages will
resolve the problem please reassign the bug to that package. You may then
also register in the BTS that the other package is affected by the bug.

Bug#753081: gpx: FTBFS: python: Command not found

2014-06-28 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: gpx
Version: 0~20140109+git3570fc9-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Builds of gpx in minimal environments (as on Debian's autobuilders)
have been failing when trying to run tests:

  python scripts/s3g-decompiler.py examples/lint.x3g
  make[1]: python: Command not found
  make[1]: *** [test] Error 127
  Makefile:60: recipe for target 'test' failed
  make[1]: Leaving directory '/«BUILDDIR»/gpx-0~20140109+git3570fc9'
  dh_auto_test: make -j1 test returned exit code 2
  make: *** [build-arch] Error 2

Please declare a build dependency on python and confirm with pbuilder
or the like that you haven't missed anything else.

Thanks!

Bug#753027: libesmtp6: does not ship libesmtp.so.6

2014-06-28 Thread Salvatore Bonaccorso
Hi Jeremy,

With the conversion to Debhelper compat level 9, multiarch directories
are passed when running dh_auto_configure for --libdir and
--libexecdir, so the paths used to install the files needs some
adjustment.

Attached is proposed debdiff.

Regards,
Salvatore

Package: alien-arena

Severity: serious

During a rebuild of all Debian packages in a clean sid chroot (using cowbuilder
and pbuilder) the build failed with the following error.

[...]
configure:6354: checking for X11
configure:6422: result: no
configure:6424: error: in
`/srv/jenkins-slave/workspace/sid-goto-cc-alien-arena/alien-arena-7.66+dfsg':

Make sure it
is in your PATH or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable to the full
path to pkg-config.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables X11_CFLAGS
and X11_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

To get pkg-config, see http://pkg-config.freedesktop.org/.
See `config.log' for more details

The full build log is attached.

Best,
Michael
