Bug#783720: clamav-daemon does not honour Local* with systemd

I just pushed a fix for this.
It seems to work as intended, but additional testing would be nice. ;)

 now I see in /etc/systemd/system/clamav-daemon.socket.d/extend.conf:
 [Socket]
 ListenStream=
 SocketUser=clamav
 ListenStream=/var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl.change
 SocketGroup=nobody
 SocketMode=600

That's exactly what should be there.

 and ls gives me:
 ls -lah /var/run/clamav/
 total 0
 drwxr-xr-x 2 clamav clamav 80 May 1 22:59 .
 drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 560 May 1 21:28 ..
 srw-rw-rw- 1 clamav clamav 0 May 1 21:28 clamd.ctl
 srw--- 1 root root 0 May 1 22:59 clamd.ctl.change

which means the user group is wrong.

That's caused by the socket not being stopped before changing.
Running 'systemctl stop clamav-daemon.socket' followed by
'systemctl start clamav-daemon.socket' makes it work.

I just pushed a commit disabling the clamav-daemon.socket in prerm.
This makes above work without manual intervention and also avoids
the stale socket file.

The debian/clamav-daemon.postinst.in file adds ListenStream twice, so
the first (empty) one may leave. After that change I still don't see
systemd setting the permissions properly. Any ideas?

The first, empty ListenStream is intended: It tells systemd to ignore
the one provided by the main socket unit in /lib/systemd/system.
Otherwise it would open two sockets.

However while testing this, I noticed another issue:
The clamav-daemon.socket is not stopped during 'dpkg-reconfigure
 clamav-daemon'.
Thus after changing the name of the socket, a stale socket file is left
 behind.
I'm not sure if that's really a problem worth fixing though. Thoughts?

Leaving stale sockets isn't nice I guess. But it won't happen often I
guess. stop - change socket file - start would fix it and a reload
due to new options would be done anyway. Would that be a way to fix it?

That's how it's fixed now. ;)

Best regards,
Andreas

 i installed the launcher freespace2-launcher-wxlauncher
but not the recommended package freespace2 because i wanted to use the
latest binary version online from the FS2 website.

If you wanted to use the latest binary you could get it from unstable.
That includes freespace2 (wx)launcher too.

The wxlauncher segfault if the freespace2 package is not installed

No, you probably experience the following issue:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=770855

You can use an easy workaround for this problem as described in the above bug
report.
This bug was fixed in the later release that you can pull from unstable.

so make it a dependencies instead of recommended or fix wxlauncher to
not segfault if he cannot find what is missing at the start.

wxlauncher can be used without freespace2 package in exactly the way you
want -- with untrusted 3rd party binaries. This is the reason why wxlauncher
only Recommends freespace2 but not depend on it.

The options
LocalSocket /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl.change
LocalSocketGroup nobody
LocalSocketMode 600

in clamd.conf are not considered when used via systemd. It seems that
/lib/systemd/system/clamav-daemon.socket
has those options hardcoded. Not sure if this should be updated by
debconf or the clamd.conf should win over the service file but the way
it is now the options are silently ignored which means a regression from
Wheezy.
Feel free to correct the severity level but it mill break all setups
where a different group and socket path is used.

Bug#783899: liblog-any-perl, liblog-any-adapter-perl: File conflict when being installed together

2015-05-01 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Quoting gregor herrmann (2015-05-01 15:17:59)
 From liblog-any-perl/1.03-1 Changes (for 1.00):
 - Merged Log-Any and Log-Any-Adapter distributions; reduces code
duplication and ensures Log::Any and adapter framework stay in sync

So liblog-any-adapter-perl has been merged into liblog-any-perl.

 I guess we need:
 - a versioned Breaks+Replaces
 - a virtual dummy package (which will remove src:liblog-any-adapter-perl)
 - and then bugs/fixes in all rdeps (some unfortunately versioned, so
a Provides wouldn't buy us much):

 https://codesearch.debian.net/results/liblog-any-adapter-perl%20path%3Adebian%2Fcontrol/page_0
   where the fix probably is liblog-any-perl (= 1.00) |
 liblog-any-adapter-perl [(= 0.11)]

I now update libcatmandu-perl which simplifies dependencies (needs
liblog-any-* 1.03 now).

After that I will relax liblog-any-adapter-screencoloredlevel-perl to
have unversioned dependency: 0.11 is satisfied even in oldstable.

If someone does same for liblog-any-adapter-callback-perl I believe no
other versioned build-dependencies are left, and we can have
liblog-any-perl provide liblog-any-adapter-perl.

Thats not the bug. Piuparts need for the upgrade test first install the
last version of libsane-dev. And this fails with the missing
 libgphoto2-2-dev.

Sorry but I don't see how that makes it a libgphoto bug.

 libgphoto2-2-dev wasn't in libgphoto2??

Which isn't a bug, but an intended change.

You have to update your dependency to the new package name...

Bug#783907: upgrade-reports: apt-get upgrade ends up in an dist-upgrade from wheezy to, jessie

2015-05-01 Thread Werner Scharinger

Package: upgrade-reports
Severity: critical
Tags: d-i
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

sorry - forgot to add the sources.list file in the first bug-report.
Here are the entries of the sources.list file:

deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-updates main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free

deb http://http.debian.net/debian wheezy-backports main

Maybe the whezzy-backports entry at the end of the list caused the
problem?

   * What led up to the situation?

Try to update a wheezy system (7.8).

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

I made a apt-get update and then apt-get upgrade
Programm asked to download about 250 MB of data and to proceed.
Confirmed with Y

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Download was proceeded and but instead of apt-get upgrade apt-get
dist-upgrade

was done. System was jessie (8) after ending.
System was bootable and a bunch of packages where not updated.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I expected a normal upgrade of wheezy.

In /etc/apt/sources.list all entries are still for wheezy.

I marked this bug-report critical because if there is something
serios about wheezy/jessie-repos it maybe affect many people by
dist-upgrading unexpecely.

If this can not be confirmed please downgrade this report to normal.

Regards,
Werner

[Re-sending; The debian mail system _still_ rejects mail from mail@ addresses]

Hi,

it seems as if during the invocation of the postinst script, the shares
libraries (which are in the package, and referenced via rpath) are not
available. Do we need to run ld.update or something like that? I'm not
an expert on linker issues and their interactions with dpkg.

Greetings, Joachim

No, they're not. The first entry in your list (quoted above) clearly

wheezy is not stable; jessie is.

Package: debhelper
Version: 9.20140228
Severity: important

Hi Joey,

The potential bug referred to in #676777, namely that the strictly
versioned dependency introduced by dh_installdocs --link-doc can cause
packages to no longer be installable, is occurring with my
gcc-mingw-w64 packages.

Admittedly the way I'm using versions is a bit unconventional, but I
don't think it goes against policy... I have a simple, native source
version (12 currently in unstable, 13 in the package I'm working on),
but all the binary packages are built using my package source along
with gcc-4.8-source (gcc-4.9-source in the version I'm working on),
and use binary version of the form ${gcc:Version}+${source:Version},
e.g. 4.9.0-2+13.

My package correctly handled the documentation link with a strictly
versioned dependency on the binary version. With the fix for #676777,
dh_installdocs also introduces a strict dependency on the source
version, which can't be satisfied...

I'm afraid my perl-fu isn't up to fixing this quickly. In any case I'm
not sure what the correct fix should be; I guess the right thing to do
would be to determine the binary version of the packages being linked
to and use that, but I don't know how to go about that within
debhelper.

Regards,

Stephen

is not detected and listed in GNOME sound settings. But I can see it listed

Please do the following:

Modify /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to set:

log-level = debug
log-time = true
log-target = file:/tmp/pulselog

Then restart the machine. After login, please attach the generated log

Also please attach the output of `pactl list` while pulseaudio has no sound.

piuparts isn't the problem. piuparts is just telling you that there is a

The problem isn't in libgphoto2 either.

And it was nice to have a transitional package[1] also in sid/stretch.

Transitional packages are used to ease upgrades in stable, NOT for
papering over cracks in libraries in sid.

This is pointless because 783909 is bogus. It would be better to merge them

Bug#773768: jenkins reproduces this issue

I confirm. I tried apt-get install debbindiff --install-recommends,
which should be equivalent, in a pbuilder --login and it did not
reproduce the issue either.

I also tried installing ghc and its depends in two steps to see whether
a missing ldconfig invocation after ghc unpack could be a cause. From my
pbuilder --login this succeeded without issue.

Now I tried again from a fresh debootstrap sid. First install all of
ghc's depends. Then install ghc:

January 2013. This bug is to prevent migration to Stretch.

If it remains open past 1st June 2015 I will request removal from sid as well

Package: upgrade-reports
Severity: critical
Tags: d-i
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

sorry - forgot to add the sources.list file in the first bug-report.
Here are the entries of the sources.list file:

deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-updates main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main contrib non-free

deb http://http.debian.net/debian wheezy-backports main

Maybe the whezzy-backports entry at the end of the list caused the
problem?

   * What led up to the situation?

Try to update a wheezy system (7.8).

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

I made a apt-get update and then apt-get upgrade
Programm asked to download about 250 MB of data and to proceed.
Confirmed with Y

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Download was proceeded and but instead of apt-get upgrade apt-get
dist-upgrade

was done. System was jessie (8) after ending.
System was bootable and a bunch of packages where not updated.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

I expected a normal upgrade of wheezy.

In /etc/apt/sources.list all entries are still for wheezy.

I marked this bug-report critical because if there is something
serios about wheezy/jessie-repos it maybe affect many people by
dist-upgrading unexpecely.

If this can not be confirmed please downgrade this report to normal.

Regards,
Werner

Bug#773768: jenkins reproduces this issue

unfortunately i don't have that knowledge too...

I tweaked the job to output the apt invocation, and as you can see here

https://jenkins.debian.net/view/reproducible/job/reproducible_setup_schroot_unstable_debbindiff/79/console
the call is a really simple
sudo chroot
/chroots/schroot-install-reproducible-unstable-debbindiff-QS40 apt-get
install -y debbindiff locales-all

I'm not able to reproduce the issue in my notebook, but while trying
to resurrect the broken environment i was able to reproduce it in
jenkins. a relevant difference i noted is that the chroot in jenkins
does not have anything mounted, while at least here i have /dev,
/proc, /dev/pts, etc, but i didn't find the time to check for that.

Thanks for your support!

migrate to testing before the deep freeze just before Jessie's release.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As
per definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for
a release, thus the severity.

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  Preparing to unpack .../xemacs21-support_21.4.22-12_all.deb ...
  Unpacking xemacs21-support (21.4.22-12) ...
  Setting up xemacs21-support (21.4.22-12) ...
ln: failed to create symbolic link '/usr/lib/xemacs-21.4.22/etc': No such
file or directory
dpkg: error processing package xemacs21-support (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   xemacs21-support

xemacs21-support needs to ship the empty directory /usr/lib/xemacs-21.4.22
Ship, don't mkdir!

The maintainer scripts could probably be simplified regarding these symlinks,
but right now I don't have the time to look into this.
Or are the compat symlinks in /usr/lib/xemacs-21.4.22 now obsolete?

I'm curious that this didn't show up in my earlier tests I did with my
patch you applied recently. Did something else change in the meantime?

cheers,

Andreas

Bug#783946: kamailio: Recompile needed due to sid's openssl uprade.

2015-05-01 Thread James Cloos
After some further research, I've discoverred that adding:

  modparam(tls, tls_force_run, 1)

to kamailio.cfg allows kama to start, so the bug probably is a bit less
severe than grave. Testing shows that such an addition does allow kam
to not only start, but actually use tls.

That being said, recomilation still is required.

SocketUser=clamav
ListenStream=/var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl.change
SocketGroup=nobody
SocketMode=600

and ls gives me:
ls -lah /var/run/clamav/

drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 560 May 1 21:28 ..

srw--- 1 root root 0 May 1 22:59 clamd.ctl.change

which means the user group is wrong.

The debian/clamav-daemon.postinst.in file adds ListenStream twice, so
the first (empty) one may leave. After that change I still don't see
systemd setting the permissions properly. Any ideas?

I've also run this through piuparts, which didn't complain.
good.

 Best regards,
 Andreas

discussed in other places, and from my point of view it was agreed not to just
continue the builds as done with 4.9. It is unfortunate that packages for 5

uploaded without giving any notice and without addressing these things first.

I suggest that you put your disagreement with the methodology into rc
bugs against the packages that did not arrive in the archive yet. As far
as I can tell this has worked well for the 4.9 series as indeed none of
them migrated.

The current conflicts block the supported cross build method from being
useful. Please stop the madness. Play your war in a different field.

Bug#783936: FTBFS: build-depends on gone/uninstallable python-uno

2015-05-01 Thread Rene Engelhard
Package: src:libswe-doc
Version: 1.80.00.0001-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

sorry, it seems I forgot libswe-doc when I filed bugs against stuff
depending on python-uno long before jessies release.

See e.g. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=707342

Now, though, the time came when python-uno is dead:

LO 4.4.2 uploaded to sid after the jessie release already disabled python-uno,
as announced:

$ rmadison -s unstable python3-uno,python-uno
debian:
 python-uno | 1:4.3.3-2 | sid | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, kfreebsd-amd6
+4, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, ppc64el, s390x, sparc
 python3-uno | 1:4.3.3-2 | sid | sparc
 python3-uno | 1:4.4.2-1 | sid | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386, kfreebsd-amd6
+4, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, ppc64el, s390x

And thus everything build-depending on python-uno is now even unbuildable, as:

# apt-get install python-uno
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 python-uno : Depends: libreoffice-core (= 1:4.3.3-2) but 1:4.4.2-1 is to be
installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

So libswe-doc either
 - needs to be fixed to use python3-uno
 - needs to stop using python-uno for whatever it is needed
 - needs to get removef

Again, sorry for the missed pre-warning...

Regards,

Rene

Bug#783937: FTBFS: build-depends on gone/uninstallable python-uno

2015-05-01 Thread Rene Engelhard
Source: sqlkit
Version: 0.9.6.1-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

In https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=707342 I already filed
a bug for python-uno to go away. That unfortunately was only for the Suggests
because I somehow completely missed that sqlkit also build-depends on it.

As I wrote in that bug in
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=707342#36 python-uno is now
gone:

$ rmadison -s unstable python3-uno,python-uno
debian:
 python-uno | 1:4.3.3-2 | sid | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, ppc64el, s390x, sparc
 python3-uno | 1:4.3.3-2 | sid | sparc
 python3-uno | 1:4.4.2-1 | sid | amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, ppc64el, s390x

Thus sqlkit now also FTBFSes.

So sqlkit now either
 - needs to be fixed to use python3-uno
 - needs to stop using python-uno for whatever it is needed
 - needs to get removed

Regards,

Rene

Package: numdiff
Version: 5.8.1-1
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 4.5

Hello and thanks for maintaining this interesting package in Debian!

After taking a look at bug #709492, I noticed that the debian/copyright
file for numdiff/5.8.1-1 [1] seems to be incomplete, as it does not
mention the GFDL-licensed files. There are at least some files
under the GFDL [2].

[1] https://tracker.debian.org/media/packages/n/numdiff/copyright-5.8.1-1
[2] for instance:
https://sources.debian.net/src/numdiff/5.8.1-1/docs/numdiff.txi/

Please update the debian/copyright file to correctly document the
licensing status of the package.

Or, even better, could the upstream developer(s) be persuaded to
re-license the documentation under the same terms as the rest
of the package (GPL)?
This would be an optimal solution, since, for example, it would
allow any contributor to use material copied from the program
source code, when improving the documentation.
Moreover, it would simplify the debian/copyright file! ;-)

Bye and thanks for your time.

 Hi,

the libgphoto2-2-dev package was deleted too early.

So the upgrade test from puiparts runs always in errors.

 [...]
If you just switch your dependency from libgphoto2-2-dev to libgphoto2-dev,
 as I
said on #783822, that will get fixed. Just like you did in experimental:

* debian/control:
  - On package libsane-dev change Depends from libgphoto2-2-dev to
libgphoto2-dev (auto-libgphoto2 transition).

Thats not the bug. Piuparts need for the upgrade test first install the
last version of libsane-dev. And this fails with the missing
 libgphoto2-2-dev.

Sorry but I don't see how that makes it a libgphoto bug.

Emilio

Bug#783908: new cpp conflicts break architecture bootstrap

The new cpp conflicts break architecture bootstrap. See for instance:

 https://jenkins.debian.net/job/rebootstrap_mips_gcc5_supported/9/console

The collateral damage induced by these conflicts simply is too much.
 Please revert.

there is no package inside the distribution where this would break anything. For
the bootstrap you certainly can work around this by ignoring the conflicts. This
may be inconvenient, but I don't think this should be the reason for another RC
issue. How to build the cross compilers matching the native compilers is
discussed in other places, and from my point of view it was agreed not to just
continue the builds as done with 4.9. It is unfortunate that packages for 5 are
uploaded without giving any notice and without addressing these things first.

When trying to install liblog-any-perl/0.15-1 and

 Unpacking liblog-any-perl (1.03-1) over (0.15-1) ...

Oops.

Thats not the bug. Piuparts need for the upgrade test first install the
last version of libsane-dev. And this fails with the missing
  libgphoto2-2-dev.

Sorry but I don't see how that makes it a libgphoto bug.

libgphoto2-2-dev wasn't in libgphoto2??

 Emilio
