The fact that Audio Capture Allowed is set to yes, and that both the
extension and the shared module are marked as “enabled” are definitely
 bothering me.

Same here. I did delete the extension path but somehow Chromium seems to
think it's still here (I have the same output as you except Shared
Module Platforms). You can check if it is running using the task
manager: from various bug reports, it is not hidden here. You can also
disable it in chrome://settings in the Search section: Enable Ok
Google to start a voice search. Various bug reports exist to say that
it may not prevent the extension from running.

If it is not possible to disable it by default and make it appear in
chrome://extensions, it would be better to not ship at all this
extension (only the shared module seems to be downloaded, the remaining
of the code seems to be still here).

Bug#785627: Mayavi2 maintenance [python-mne is marked for autoremoval from testing]

2015-05-27 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Alexandre,

On Wed, May 27, 2015 at 09:32:39AM +0200, Alexandre Gramfort wrote:

I don't know what I can do about mayavi2 packaging.

That's simple: Maintain the package which is currently unmaintained. :-)

 To avoid removing
 python-mne from debian-science

To clarify the terminology: python-mne is not removed from Debian
Science. The package is removed from Debian testing to ensure that
testing remains in an always releasable state. I expect mayavi2 to be
fixed in a decent time frame before the next freeze which will be not
before one year (to my naïve estimation).

one option is to remove it from depends
 as mayavi2 is a weak dependency of python-mne. 95% of python-mne
 works fine without mayavi.

 what do you think?

I think the problem is the Build-Depends. If python-mne does not
need this Build-Dependency than it should be removed in any case.

Otherwise it might not harm to widen your scope and try to help fixing
the problem in mayavi2. I honestly think that we should behave as
better team players and not work on single packages only (which is a
general statement and not directly addressed to you Alexandre).

To prove my point I have made the according team metrics graph. See
here for Debian Med

   http://blends.debian.net/liststats/maintainer_per_package_debian-med.png

which could be better and Debian Science

   http://blends.debian.net/liststats/maintainer_per_package_debian-science.png

which *should* be way better.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

Note that the binary blob is executed throught native client, which is
not enabled by default, so I /think/ you need explicit action from the
user (although if you enable NaCl for something else, then you might
enable stuff you actually don't want).

Having /home noexec won't help, since it's not run directly by the
system but by chromium.

 Dear Maintainer,

Even worse, that extension:

That's definitely not the stuff we'd like installed by default, without

Your package ships the not FHS compliant directory /usr/locale and a
whole bunch of subdirectories under it. This is annoying since it
disturbs shell completion for /usr/local.

Yeah. I'm not sure what the workflow Christoph has. I have submitted
some patches for kpartx, and haven't had any response.

I just pinged Hannes on the mailing list, in case he has some time
to check/acknowledge it, so we may have an idea if that's eventually
going upstream or requires more changes, before including in Debian.

 Thanks!

OKay!! THanks. I'll put this one on hold then. The other one, is already
ready for Unstable. And as I write, I'm also preparing the same for

Bug#782400: multipath-tools: libmultipath: fix discovery of devices with empty rev sysfs attribute

Thanks!
Do you think it would be a problem to include the patch?

As explained the commit message, I think it's an obvious fix for the
regression introduced (with 'chomp', or similar name) for the case
when the sysfs attribute 'rev' contains only spaces -- because the
'chomp' (or similarly named) function will remove all spaces from the
string, so its size will be zero (so, the check for size greater than,
but not 'or equal to', will surely fail).

Kind regards,
Mauricio

Package: python3-mockldap
Version: 0.2.2-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

Even accoriding to the main description of the mockldap project on
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/mockldap the inention is to provide mock
replacements for the stuff normally provided by python-ldap.

The python-ldap in Debian is packaged from upstream project
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-ldap/2.4.19. The problem with that is it
still seem to be compatible only with Python 2.

The python3-ldap3 is Debian package based on upstream project
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/ldap3/0.9.8.2 which has totally incompatible API
with the above and it's based on different principles.

This bug is against the incorrect dependency of python3-mockldap on
python3-ldpa3, while it should depend on non-existing python3-ldap or doesn't
exist at all. Such dependency confuses potential users of these tools as causes
installation of incompatible Python 3 modules on the system.

The only possible option to solve this problem is (quick solution) remove the
package python3-mockldap as not very useful while there is no respective
python3-ldap or spent some effort on porting upstream python-ldap to Python 3.
The latter is not easy task as the Python 3 API to external libraries (openldap
in this case) is different that in Python 2.

In my case an attempt to use mockldap as part of the unit test executed in
Python 3 end up in error of missing piece:

ImportError: No module named 'ldap.cidict'

Bug#787018: src:xbmc: xbmc does not build on unstable

2015-05-27 Thread Bálint Réczey
Control: tags -1 wontfix

Hi Loong Jin,

2015-05-27 22:06 GMT+02:00 Chow Loong Jin hyper...@debian.org:
 Package: src:xbmc
Version: FTBFS on unstable (libcec changes?)
 Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

 Dear Maintainer,

sbuild does not manage to rebuild xbmc in unstable. Attached is the build log.

 Specifically, here's the error:

 PeripheralCecAdapter.cpp: In member function 'void
 PERIPHERALS::CPeripheralCecAdapter::SetConfigurationFromSettings()':
 PeripheralCecAdapter.cpp:1347:19: error: 'CEC::libcec_configuration' has no
 member named 'iDoubleTapTimeoutMs'
m_configuration.iDoubleTapTimeoutMs =
 GetSettingInt(double_tap_timeout_ms);
^

I believe that changes in libcec-dev have resulted in this FTBFS.
XBMC has been renamed to Kodi and I have already packaged it. It is
waiting for FTP Master approval in the NEW queue for some time.
I don't plan updating xbmc, just once, with an empty content to get
rid of the epoch while transitioning to kodi.

Cheers,
Balint

When I try to starup banshee, it just crashes. I looked at the other banshee
crashes on startup type bugs and I am pretty sure, but not 100% sure this is
yet another way of it crashing.

Looks like it's related to some USB device. Could you try unplugging them and
seeing if Banshee launches? If that works, please try identifying which USB
device causes the issue.

Bug#786601: sbcl: ftbfs when locales-all is installed but not locales

 Hi,

While working on the “reproducible builds” effort [1], we have noticed
that sbcl fails to build from source, when when locales-all is installed but
 not locales:
 [...]

I'm not really sure atm how to this should be expressed, as build-conflicts
 does not exist.

Hmm. What do you mean by build-conflicts does not exist?
It does!

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-sourcebinarydeps

So, in this case,

Build-Conflicts: locales-all

would probably fix the FTBFS bug the easy way.

However, I wonder why locales-all has a Provides: locales at all if
it is not a complete drop-in replacement for locales.

Thanks.

Agreed that we should really try to get this fixed for 8.1.

I've just uploaded 2.2.18. I will try to do a stable update as well, but
am unfortunately low on Debian time. Help welcome.

Bug#786565: iceweasel: breaks xul-ext-requestpolicy

2015-05-27 Thread Martin Kimmerle
Hi David!

I am the current maintainer/developer of RequestPolicy, in the name of
the „RequestPolicyContinued“ project [1]. I wanted to let you know that
I've forked the 0.5.x branch a few days ago. Previously our project only
had releases for the (still in beta) 1.0 branch. So the new release has
version 0.5.29, release notes can be found on github [2]. It's also on
AMO [3], but still awaiting review and therefore you can't find it via
AMO's search.

Now about RP in the Debian repos: I see you migrated the 1.0 branch to
sid, but I think the 1.0 beta is not yet ready for the masses. Instead,
I strongly advise to use the 0.5.x branch *at least* for Debian Jessie.
As soon as I release 1.0.0 stable you can reconsider. Fyi, there's an
issue [4] for the 1.0 milestone.

I suppose Iceweasel 38 will migrate to Jessie soon, as Firefox's
new/next ESR release is version 38.

By the way, the diff between 0.5.28 and 0.5.29 (the RPC release) is
quite small [5]. The main difference is the changed extension ID. Is
that a problem for continuity in the debian repo?

Regards
Martin

Package: lastpass-cli
Version: 0.3.0-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

With the current version of the package in Debian, no actions can be performed
anymore, because the included CA certificate is invalid.

For example:

$ lpass show some site
Error: Could not find decryption key. Perhaps you need to login with `lpass
login`.

$ lpass login my email address
Error: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates.

This was fixed upstream in version 0.5.1:
https://github.com/lastpass/lastpass-cli/issues/88

I have verified that building and using version 0.5.1 on my system fixes the
issue.

Package: fai-setup-storage
Version: 4.3.1
Severity: grave

When FAI uses a disk_config that tries to preserve a partition, data
will be lost because of new parted command. This happens when FAI uses
a jessie nfsroot. When using a wheezy nfsroot you are not affected by
this bug.

Here's the log:

Starting setup-storage 1.7
Using config file: /var/lib/fai/config/disk_config/xfcehost
DEGRADED MODE. Incomplete RAID LVs will be processed.
Creating directory /run/lock/lvm
Finding all volume groups
  No volume groups found
Preserved partition /dev/vda6 does not end at a cylinder boundary, parted may
fail to restore the partition!
/dev/vda6 will be preserved
/dev/vda2 will be resized
Executing: wipefs -a /dev/vda1
Executing: wipefs -a /dev/vda5
Executing: wipefs -a /dev/vda7
Executing: parted -s /dev/vda mklabel msdos
Executing: parted -s /dev/vda mkpart extended 14309602304B 120034123775B
Executing: parted -s /dev/vda mkpart logical 17705784832B 104546809343B
Executing: parted -s /dev/vda resize 1 14308868096B 126022057983B
Command had non-zero exit code

parted 3.0 does not have the resize command any more. Since this
fails, FAI does not created a correct partition table, and so
the data on all remaining partitions is lost.

setup-storage needs to support the new resizepart command of parted.

Package: webgui

Dear maintainer,

your package webgui is a web application which supports the Apache2
web server. We're upgrading Apache to the new upstream version 2.4 [1]
(tracked as transition bug #661958). This requires some changes in your
package about how to interface to our package. You can test your package
against our package available in experimental [2] which is soon to be
uploaded to Sid. Please note, chances are that for the time being, third
party modules (e.g. mod_php, mod_perl and such) are not yet available in
a version capable to run with the Apache 2.4 web server. You can use
their (Fast-)CGI counter parts, e.g. php5-fpm to test your packages. You
can see an up to date state of modules being in the transition to
Apache2 2.4 at [3]. We have written packaging guidelines for our reverse
dependencies [4]. Please read this document carefully, it should be able
to answer most of your questions. Do also look at dh_apache2 (available
through the dh-apache2 package) which can simplify shipping of Apache2
configuration files.

In short, we want to highlight these changes you need to be aware of:

* Do NOT declare a strong relation against apache2.2-common (or
apache2-common as its natural successor). Instead recommend apache2 |
 httpd in your package relationships.

* Do NOT install any files to /etc/apache2/conf.d/. This directory is
obsolete. Its successor is /etc/apache2/conf-available/ which can be
 interfaced through a2enconf/a2disconf

* Do NOT call a2enconf/a2disconf in your maintainer scripts. Use our
apache2-maintscript-helper [4] instead. This is required to get a
uniform and stateful handling of all web applications interfacing with
 Apache2.

I just came across an issue with journald being unable to start up when
snoopy is enabled that prevents a Jessie/systemd installation to boot up
which i reported to upstream at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90364 .

This is to let you know about the issue. Maybe we need to stick a

Bug#785627: Mayavi2 maintenance [python-mne is marked for autoremoval from testing]

2015-05-27 Thread Alexandre Gramfort
Hi Andreas,

I don't know what I can do about mayavi2 packaging. To avoid removing
python-mne from debian-science one option is to remove it from depends
as mayavi2 is a weak dependency of python-mne. 95% of python-mne
works fine without mayavi.

what do you think?

let me know

Best,
Alex

 Hi,

the RC bug #785627 did not received any response and according to its
rdepends mayavi2 affects several packages in Debian science which should
be hit by the same autoremoval.

There are other open bugs against mayavi2 which seem not hard to fix and
it is lagging begin upstream. Do we want to starte a Debian Science
effort to upgrade this package? (I'm personally not available for such
thing for about four weeks - otherwise I would have done something
myself.) We should check whether python-apps team has ACLs set to
enable commits of non-team members. Otherwise it might be sensible to
move the package to Debian Science Git.

 Kind regards

Andreas.

Hi Laszlo

ntfs-3g in jessie and above is similarly affected by CVE-2015-3202
since ntfs-3g since 1:2013.1.13AR.3-2 builds with internal fuse copy.

The patch I have used to prepare the updates for jessie is attached.

ntfs-3g though should try to use the system fuse and not the embedded
copy, could you check to switch this back?

Regards,
Salvatore

I hope the problem will be fixed in the next update of stable.

Hi Laszlo

ntfs-3g in jessie and above is similarly affected by CVE-2015-3202
since ntfs-3g since 1:2013.1.13AR.3-2 builds with internal fuse copy.

The patch I have used to prepare the updates for jessie is attached.

ntfs-3g though should try to use the system fuse and not the embedded
copy, could you check to switch this back?

Regards,
Salvatore
