Hi,

Sorry, my mistake - set too old version in Replaces/Breaks field.
This commit might fix the problem:

Bug#789187: moarvm: FTBFS on mipsel

2015-06-20 Thread Daniel Dehennin
Arturo Borrero Gonzalez arturo.borrero.g...@gmail.com writes:

 Package: moarvm
 Severity: serious
 Tags: upstream
 Justification: fails to build from source

 Dear maintainer,

 as you can see at buildd [x], moarvm FTBFS on mipsel.
 I've contacted upstream [x], and they say there is no support for mipsel in
 dyncall.

Hello,

It looks like mipsel issue may not be fixed soon, a possible integration
of libffi or a new dyncall may render MoarVM usable on mipsel.

Should we exclude mipsel from Architecture for the moment?

NB: We have the same issue with S390.

The following mbox folder, when put in $HOME/mail, becomes corrupted after
trying to retrieve it with fetchmail.

The problem may be reproduced by using the same machine as server and client:

* Put inbox-b in $HOME/mail

* Put this in $HOME/.fetchmailrc

* Retrieve email using this command line:

fetchmail -a localhost --folder inbox-b -m true

Note: By looking at the true above it is clear that whatever
fetchmail does with the message is not important at all.

You will see something like this:

Affects

- keystonemiddleware: versions through 1.5.0

Description
~~~
Brant Knudson from IBM reported a vulnerability in keystonemiddleware
(formerly shipped as python-keystoneclient). When the 'insecure'
option is set in a S3Token paste configuration file its value is
effectively ignored and instead assumed to be true. As a result
certificate verification will be disabled, leaving TLS connections
open to MITM attacks. Note that it's unusual to explicitly add this
option and then set it to false, so the impact of this bug is thought
to be limited. All versions of s3_token middleware with TLS settings
configured are affected by this flaw.
 The mips* FTBFS are a recurring problem for the mapnik package, previous
 builds were no different. I'll try to get it to build on a porterbox,
 but I expect intervention from the buildd admins will be required like
 build mapnik.
 See: https://bugs.debian.org/742149
  https://bugs.debian.org/729121
 I'm not sure there are buildds with more RAM. Note that the package failed
 in
 the exact same way on kfreebsd-i386, which has 3GB of RAM + 4GB of swap.
 Since
 all these arches are 32bits, more memory is probably not going to help.
 Instead, perhaps you can make the build take less memory, e.g. by reducing
 the
 optimizations (-O1?) or using some flags such as the linker's
 --no-keep-memory.
 Mapnik 2.2 used to pass builds with some of those options, also with
 removing
 -ftemplate-depth-300.
 That last option i restored with mapnik 3.0, to see what would happen with
 upstream options,
 since so much has changed in that project.
 I'm preparing now an upload with that option removed.
The new uploaded didn't resolve the build failures, it still failed on
{hurd,kfreebsd}-i386  mips*.
Since it's a recurring problem on mips*, maybe exclude these
architectures and request removal of the package on mips*.
Kind Regards,
Bas
Bug#788716: listening_ip option causing parsing error
   parsing error file /etc/minidlna.conf line 70 :
  listening_ip=192.168.88.4
  and ignores this line, listening to the whole 'net.
  This means that it is impossible to bind it to particular
  (internal) ip address, even after using the only option for this
  which is documented and appears to be available.  Obviously this
  has security implications, due to both lack of the way to secure
  it and having too wide access when operator thinks it is secured.
  Mmm, this is not a bug in software anyway. And not a security issue.
  You're still free to protect yourself using iptables.
 This is a completely wrong approach.  First we make something open
 much wider than needed, next we say there's a way to block the open
 door by using other means.  The right approach is to not open the
 door in the first place where it isn't supposed to be open.
This is philosophy =) From other point one can say, that unix way is to
use many simple tools each solving it's simple task. Door to enter and
guard dog to bite strangers =)
I agree, that it would be better (in this particular case) to have
working solution in minidlna, but it's absence (if it really has a
place in) is not a security bug anyway.
  Is this a bug in documentation? - yes
  Is this bug closed in testing? - yes
  Should this bugreport be closed? - I think yes, feel free to prove
  your point.
  PS How do you see this report closed in right way?
 I think the functionality should be reimplemented.  I don't think this
 bug should be colsed, instead maybe keep it as a wishlist item wishing
 that real measures to be implemented instead of relying on external
 blocks.
 When I submitted this bugreport I did't know upstream dropped this
 functionality, I thought it is just some minor prob in parsing the
 options.  So ofcourse I didn't know it is just documentation bug in
 current package.  Anyway, I think removing this functionality is
 inacceptable, because it is the wrong approach as described above.
Look. There is a bug in 1.1.2: (Fixed in 1.1.4)
#756169 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=756169
-a option and listening_ip config parameter were replaced with
 -i interface
 Network interface to listen on. Can be specified more than
 once.
network_interface
 Network interface(s) to bind to (e.g. eth0), comma
delimited. This option can be specified more than once. If
unspecified or empty, minidlnad binds to all the valid network
interfaces (except loopback).
But there are some questions with them. See #786929
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=786929
http://sourceforge.net/p/minidlna/bugs/218/
(Still open as wishlist)
In your bugreport you mix two different already reported problems. So I
merge your bugreport into first one.
 No problems unlocking.
Yeah, the problem only occurs with a gnome-shell which is already
running during the upgrade.
However, the problem also occurs when only locking the session after the
upgrade has completed.
One possible workaround after the upgrade is
killall -HUP gnome-shell gnome-settings-daemon
Sending SIGHUP to gnome-shell only is enough to be able to unlock the
session, but gnome-settings-daemon also needs to be restarted, or some
things such as keyboard shortcuts don't work properly in the new
gnome-shell.
Upgrading the gjs package to the version in experimental (as you can see
Marking severity to serious to prevent the package to migrate, before
the problem is fixed (mainly, upstream).
Cheers.
Bug#789404: pbuilder: insecure use of /tmp
2015-06-20 Thread Jakub Wilk
Source: pbuilder
Version: 0.215+nmu3
Severity: grave
Tags: security
pbuilder builds the package in $BUILDPLACE/tmp/buildd.
But $BUILDPLACE/tmp is normally world-writable, and pbuilder doesn't
fail if the buildd direcory already exists:
   mkdir -p $BUILDPLACE/tmp/buildd
There's a race window between unpacking base.tgz and the mkdir call when
malicious local user could create their own $BUILDPLACE/tmp/buildd.
Owning the buildd directory would let them tamper with the build process.
Alternatively, the attacker could exploit #789401 to plant tmp/buildd
directly in base.tgz.
 Hi,
 I was looking at the libgnome-media-profiles rdeps, and your package is
 the last one using it. So I looked a bit into the package, and it seems
 to be dead:
 - Last upload in 2011.
 - Homepage is 404.
 - The gnome.org page has been moved to projects-old:
   https://projects-old.gnome.org/gnomeradio/
 - The package has been removed from Fedora:
 http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/gnomeradio.git/commit/?id=0c14ab04849ab167909ce302eeb6d7615c18f3d9
 Due to all this, I was thinking that the package should probably be
 removed from Debian. If you agree, please reassign this to
 ftp.debian.org and retitle it properly. If you disagree, please say
 so. Note that if we keep this, it needs to be ported to GStreamer 1.0
 and away from libgnome-media-profiles.
 If I don't hear anything from you in a while, I'll reassign
 and request the removal myself.
 Regards,
 Emilio
Hi,
libnb-platform18-java fails to build from source in sid. This is
mainly due to the recents updates of the Felix and OSGi
build-dependencies. The build already fails in the dh_auto_clean
override step.
I will try to update this package.
Bug#789400: gucharmap: needs update for unicode-data 8.0-1 and Built-Using field
2015-06-20 Thread Paul Wise
Source: gucharmap
Severity: serious
Usertags: static built-using
According to the Build-Depends and build logs, gucharmap takes files
from unicode-data, converts them to C headers using a Perl script and
statically compiles them into the library.
A new version of unicode-data was just uploaded (8.0-1), so gucharmap
needs an update from upstream to build with the new version.
Since files from unicode-data therefore form part of the source of
gucharmap, unicode-data should be present in the Built-Using field,
which is documented in this section of policy:
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-built-using
The package currently FTBFS due to this issue:
Dear maintainer(s),
I plan to upload cmake 3.2 to unstable soon.
Your package provides a find module in /usr/share/cmake-3.0.
cmake 3.2 will not look for modules in that path anymore.
Find modules work by guessing the location of libraries and include
files.
Libraries shouldn't ship find modules at all since they know where
the library has been installed to.
There are a couple of solutions:
1) Ship a config-file package instead. [1]
   cmake looks for these packages in an unversioned path:
   prefix/(lib/arch|lib|share)/cmake/name*/
   and a couple of others [2]
2) Push the find module upstream. [4]
   Upstream is usually very responsive.
   Once it has been accepted upstream I can cherry-pick it in the
   cmake package.
3) cmake supports reading pkg-config files. [3]
   This needs changes in the reverse-dependencies though.
As a short term solution you can provide the find module in
/usr/share/cmake-3.2 as well as /usr/share/cmake-3.0.
This is only a temporary workaround though.
Cheers,
Felix
Package: asciidoctor
Version: 1.5.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Hi,
The asciidoctor program aborts on start-up with the following error:
/usr/lib/ruby/2.1.0/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:55:in `require': cannot
load such file -- /usr/bin/../lib/asciidoctor (LoadError)
from /usr/lib/ruby/2.1.0/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:55:in
`require'
from /usr/bin/asciidoctor:5:in `main'
It looks like the program tries to load the asciidoctor module from a directory
that does not exist.  The offending line in /usr/bin/asciidoctor is:
  require File.join File.dirname(__FILE__), '../lib/asciidoctor'
Changing that line to the following fixes the problem:
  require 'asciidoctor'
Thanks,
lambdabot no longer builds from source. Someone™ should upgrade it to
the latest version, where upstream has decided to split it up into
several smaller packages.
Or we should drop it and all its weird dependencies from Debian. Do we
actually have users?
Thanks,
Joachim
Bug#779324: van.pydeb causing several FTBFS bugs - bump up to RC
 This bug is causing FTBFS in several source packages.
As the original author of van.pydeb I would not be sad to see it be
removed from Debian. The latest dh_python is an almost complete
replacement and most packages could/should be converted to it.
Unfortunately, my day job and 2 little tadpoles running around mean that
I definitely won't get around to it for a long time to come.
 For example, from my
 pbuilder build log for zope.i18n:
Bug#789445: bandwidthd-pgsql: fails to install: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 10
2015-06-20 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: bandwidthd-pgsql
Version: 2.0.1+cvs20090917-7
Severity: serious
Tags: stretch sid
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts
Hi,
during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As
per definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for
a release, thus the severity.
From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):
  Selecting previously unselected package bandwidthd-pgsql.
  Processing triggers for systemd (215-18) ...
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   bandwidthd-pgsql
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
exit status 10 very much looks like a debconf return code ...
This bug is reproducible in stretch and sid, but not in jessie,
one notable difference is that sid and stretch have a newer
version of dbconfig-common than jessie.
Since I don#t see similar failures in sid in other packages using
dbconfig-common, this is
* either a bug in bandwidthd-pgsql that has been exposed by the
  new dbconfig-common
* or a bug in dbconfig-common that is only exposed by
  bandwidthd-pgsql
please investigate and maybe reassign to dbconfig-common.
Installing the package manually in a sid chroot with
BANDWIDTHD_PACKAGE_DEBUG=1 and DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive
spews a lot of output ending with
[...]
so this seems to be dbc related
Dear Maintainer,
The package fails to build on a builder without networking.
It attempts to download some code from a 3rd party service.
I believe this is a serious violation of Debian policy.
Dear Maintainer,
When I try to install gcc-arm-linux-gnueabihf, neither apt-get, nor aptitude,
are able to do it, because gcc-4.9-arm-linux-gnueabihf depends on version
4.9.2-18 of libgcc-4.9-dev, but only 4.9.2-21 is available. The same for
gcc-4.9-arm-linux-gnueabi.
Thanks.
Bug#789452: python-qt4-dbg: unhandled symlink to directory conversion: /usr/share/doc/PACKAGE
2015-06-20 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: python-qt4-dbg
Version: 4.11.3+dfsg-2
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts
Hi,
an upgrade test with piuparts revealed that your package installs files
over existing symlinks and possibly overwrites files owned by other
packages. This usually means an old version of the package shipped a
symlink but that was later replaced by a real (and non-empty)
directory. This kind of overwriting another package's files cannot be
detected by dpkg.
This was observed on the following upgrade paths:
  lenny - squeeze - wheezy - jessie - stretch
For /usr/share/doc/PACKAGE this may not be problematic as long as both
packages are installed, ship byte-for-byte identical files and are
upgraded in lockstep. But once one of the involved packages gets
removed, the other one will lose its documentation files, too,
including the copyright file, which is a violation of Policy 12.5:
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html#s-copyrightfile
For other overwritten locations anything interesting may happen.
Note that dpkg intentionally does not replace directories with symlinks
and vice versa, you need the maintainer scripts to do this.
See in particular the end of point 4 in
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-unpackphase
It is recommended to use the dpkg-maintscript-helper commands
'dir_to_symlink' and 'symlink_to_dir' (available since dpkg 1.17.14)
to perform the conversion, ideally using d/$PACKAGE.mainstscript.
Do not forget to add 'Pre-Depends: ${misc:Pre-Depends}' in d/control.
See dpkg-maintscript-helper(1) and dh_installdeb(1) for details.
From the attached log (usually somewhere in the middle...):
12m44.3s INFO: dirname part contains a symlink:
  /usr/share/doc/python-sip4-dbg/changelog.Debian.gz (python-sip4-dbg) !=
  /usr/share/doc/python-sip4-dbg/copyright (python-sip4-dbg) !=
/usr/share/doc/python-sip4/copyright (?)
/usr/share/doc/python-sip4-dbg - python-sip4
12m46.1s ERROR: FAIL: debsums reports modifications inside the chroot:
