Bug#806391: gcc-arm-none-eabi needs an update for isl-0.15
Package: gcc-arm-none-eabi Version: 15:4.9.3+svn227297-1 Severity: serious Tags: sid stretch gcc-arm-none-eabi needs an update for isl-0.15. While it probably won't fail to build with a binNMU, it will disable the graphite support. Updating the package to the current gcc-4.9 branch should be good enough, also I'm wondering why you don't base the package on the current gcc-5.
Bug#788708: Bug#799632: iceweasel: SIGSEGV when playing videos via gstreamer
I just crashed Iceweasel on jessie right after finishing a YouTube video. This happened to me a couple of times in the past, but it's rather rare; anyway, I'm running in gdb now, so I'll also send a backtrace as soon as I have one. I'm just reporting this to confirm that there is a crash issue in jessie which is probably gstreamer-related.

Bug#806387: menu tests paradoxical

You're supposed to remove the whole stanza (and in many cases the whole file), not just one little bit of it. The referenced TC decision says: 2. In addition to those changes, the Technical Committee resolves that packages providing a .desktop file shall not also provide a menu file for the same application. I'm not clear how one gets from "shall not also provide a menu file for the same application" to "can also provide a menu file for the same application as long as there's no command= in it". At worst the wording of the tag needs improving; the above description doesn't indicate any kind of functionality bug in the checks, just a misunderstanding of the intended action. Regards, Adam

As expected, downgrading the package back to 3.2.68-1+deb7u3 resolved the issue NB: I set the severity as critical considering it renders the system unusable (you have to ssh in if enabled; possibly booting up in text mode might work too) and the update replaces the old, working, kernel so that you can't just pick an older version in Grub. That problem might explain some of those issues: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=apt-cacher-ng+hashsum >From current linux git, master branch: commit 0ff28d9f4674d781e492bcff6f32f0fe48cf0fed Author: Christophe Leroy Date: Wed May 6 17:26:47 2015 +0200 splice: sendfile() at once fails for big files Using sendfile with below small program to get MD5 sums of some files, it appear that big files (over 64kbytes with 4k pages system) get a wrong MD5 sum while small files get the correct sum. This program uses sendfile() to send a file to an AF_ALG socket for hashing. ... After investivation, it appears that sendfile() sends the files by blocks of 64kbytes (16 times PAGE_SIZE). The problem is that at the end of each block, the SPLICE_F_MORE flag is missing, therefore the hashing operation is reset as if it was the end of the file. This patch adds SPLICE_F_MORE to the flags when more data is pending. Interestingly, the header file was essentially empty (at least in sigc++ version 2.4.1). Since it does not appear that this header served any useful function, the easiest solution seems to be to remove it. I was able to compile libwfut successfully without this line. Bug#806258: s-nail: Cannot start "/usr/bin/sendmail": executable not found
Hello! Salvatore Bonaccorso wrote: |Package: s-nail |Version: 14.8.5-1 |Severity: serious |Justification: Policy 11.6. Mail transport, delivery and user agents | |Hi | |Filling this as serious, as per Policy 11.6 sendmail is from |/usr/sbin/sendmail. s-nail though has the problem that during build |configures SENDMAIL to '/usr/bin/sendmail'. | |$ echo test | /usr/bin/s-nail -s 'test' root |Cannot start "/usr/bin/sendmail": executable not found (adjust *sendm\ |ail* variable) Thanks for the reference, i have adjusted the S-nail build system to use /usr/sbin as the fallback path when no sendmail(1) binary can be found. This change is on the [master] branch. I have just returned to work regulary (also) in the Linux world, and on *BSD there is a default sendmail(1); which is why we tested /usr/sbin first, not taking into account the possibility that there is no sendmail(1) at all, while keeping that standard path fallback. (I.e., i see this issue as a follow-up to [bda59aa] (MTA execv(2) failure: improve error message (Dominic Meskys).., 2015-03-09) that shouldn't have been necessary.) (And the next release of S-nail will also improve the error message so that it's clear who generated it when run in a pipe.) Ciao, --steffen

Bug#800135: This is a bug in the mayavi2 package, or deeper
I can reproduce the problem without mne-python. It's a problem in the python-vtk package, and maybe even in the libvtk package. The following code reproduces the problem: python -c "import vtk; vtk.vtkWindBladeReader()"

Hi, thanks, for the info I am remembering more about the original faad issue and failure was indeed really inmediate when entering some pages. Not what is hapening in this box. > Do you have a way to reproduce the crash you're > observing here? Unfortunately not, I could not find a reproducible path to the problem, once happened with facebook (at that time it looked reproducible, but when looking next day at the entries apparently problmatic, everything went fine), sometimes happens when accesing online journals, but is by far not as inmediate as it happened with the faad issue. When this problem happens I am already browsing the page after entering it. I will open a new bug report if I can find a reproducibility path. In the mean time I think original gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad can be left for natural archiving. Regards, amd thaks again for all the feedback. -- Agustin

Yes, I will not upload mupen64plus-core to architectures which are known to be completely unsupported by mupen64plus and not working (like powerpc). So the mupen64plus-qt package has to be fixed to not build on architectures with missing runtime dependencies. But my offer to add Mathieu Malaterre and/or Sérgio Benjamim when they want to maintain the "not officially supported" armhf architecture in Debian is still open. I've just uploaded the mupen64plus* packages to the pkg-games (Debian Games Team) git repositories to have everything under the same team umbrella. Just tell me and I merge the branch armhf_test in all repositories and add the voluntaril(y|ies) to the uploaders. Btw. Bug#797793: Test failure of python-htseq on 32bit arches
Hi again Simon, I wonder whether you noticed this report. The issue keeps htseq out of Debian and as far as I can see it might be a non-issue. The difference between the Expected and the actual result does not look critical to me at all and I wonder whether it is just a matter of adjusting the comparison a bit. If you confirm that my suspicion is correct I could volunteer to take over this but your confirmation would be really helpful here. Thanks Andreas.
