Bug#800201: pgpgpg: Please migrate a supported debhelper compat level
Control: tags 800201 patch Control: tags 800201 pending Control: tags 439430 pending Hi, I uploaded a NMU to 10-day/delay queue. Feel free to cancel this upload if needed. The debian/changelog is: pgpgpg (0.13-9.1) unstable; urgency=medium . * Non-maintainer upload. * Migrated DH level to 9 to avoid a FTBFS. Thanks to Logan Rosen . (Closes: #800201) * debian/compat: added. * debian/control: - Added the ${misc:Depends} variable to provide the right install dependencies. - Bumped Standards-Version to 3.9.6. * debian/rules: - Added the --no-ddebs option to dh_strip to avoid the dbgsym creation. It would be a NEW binary (pgpgpg-dbgsym). - Added the dh_md5sums to generate a md5sums control file. Thanks to Ben Finney . (Closes: #439430) - Changed the binary-arch target to install files in right place. Thanks to Logan Rosen . (Closes: #800201) - Some actions to allow the package build twice: ~ Added a condition to execute '$(MAKE) distclean'. ~ Using dh_clean to clean the debian/ directory. * debian/watch: added. I attached a debdiff. Regards, Eriberto pgpgpg.debdiff Description: Binary data

Bug#808972: [Reportbug-maint] Processed: cloning 808384, reassign -1 to reportbug ...
control: severity -1 wishlist let's set the right severity here (it is pretty clear running reportbug that the information are store publicly "Note: bug reports are publicly archived (including the email address of the submitter)") and exists an option (--paranoid) exactly for those more careful about security and privacy. I think it is more a task for a bug script in tomcat8, but since debian-el calls with the --no-bug-scripts... not much can be done from that side. and even if we do something in reportbug, that will be ignored since debian-el is running all in automatic-mode, so all the warnings will be lost. As you may be aware, new upstream releases of ppp cause ABI breaks, so the version of your package currently in sid will stop working. A new upload of your package will be required in order for it to remain functional. With this release of ppp I am also including a new dh_ppp tool in the ppp-dev package. This will help to avoid having to make manual changes to packages in future by automatically generating the correct dependencies on binary packages. If your package build system also requires the path to the ppp plugins directory, the dh_ppp tool is able to provide that. This should allow future ABI transitions to be tracked using the release team's "ben" transition tracker, and packages should only require a binary-only NMU to build against the new ABI. I have prepared a patch for your package to enable to build against the new version of ppp currently in experimental. Bug#783297: [pkg-cryptsetup-devel] Bug#783297: breaks initramfs if BUSYBOX=n
Hi Michael, hi Ben, Am 26.04.2015 um 01:35 schrieb Michael Biebl: > On Sat, 25 Apr 2015 16:22:13 +0200 Michael Biebl wrote: >> if the cryptsetup package is installed, it also installed a >> initramfs-tools hook. >> >> I use BUSYBOX=no in initramfs.conf, but the cryptroot hook copies >> /bin/busybox to the initramfs nonetheless. >> >> As a result, the initramfs is unable to boot the system > > I looked into this in more detail, and the culprit seems to be > /usr/share/initramfs-tools/conf-hooks.d/cryptsetup > which forcefully set's > BUSYBOX=y. Yes, cryptsetup initramfs scripts do depend on busybox. At least this was the case some years ago. As cryptsetup can be used without initramfs (e.g. only home partition or removable storage encrypted), the cryptsetup package doesn't depend on "initramfs-tools, busybox" but merely recommends them. > /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/busybox will see the BUSYBOX=y setting > and copy the busybox binary. > > /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/zz-busybox sources > /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf, therefor BUSYBOX=n will be set > again, and the symlinks are not created. Honestly, this looks like a bug in busybox to me. What's the reason for the two busybox initramfs hook scripts at all? *) /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/busybox copies bin/busybox to the initramfs and links /bin/sh to it without sourcing initramfs.conf. *) /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/zz-busybox-initramfs sources initramfs.conf, removes busybox binary from initramfs if existent, and copies bin/busybox to initramfs and links all aliases provided by busybox to it. I don't understand the following: What's the purpose of /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/busybox at all, if changes are reverted by /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/zz-busybox-initramfs later on anyway and redone in a slightly different fashion? Why does /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/zz-busybox-initramfs source initramfs.conf? The BUSYBOY variable is exported by mkinitramfs anyway. The simplest fix to this bug would be to stop sourcing initramfs.conf in hooks/zz-busybox-initramfs. > The result is a broken initramfs. > > I'm not sure, what is supposed to take precedence in such a case: The > configuration in /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf or > /usr/share/initramfs-tools/conf-hooks.d/cryptsetup and if it's a bug in > cryptsetup which forcefully overrides BUSYBOX= or if it's a bug in > busybox, which sources /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf in > /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/zz-busybox and therefor doesn't respect > the settings which are set via conf-hooks.d. To my understanding, the purpose of /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks-conf.d is to provide a place where packages that include an initramfs hook script can overwrite settings to initramfs.conf without altering the config file itself. In other words, this directory is like an include directory for initramfs.conf. This implies, that every script which explicitly uses/sources initramfs.conf, needs to honour this include directory as well. In fact, we (Guilhem Moulin and me) discuss a related topic with the initramfs-tools maintainers in bugreport #807527[1] at the moment. In our eyes, initramfs-tools should provide a clear API or best practice for custom initramfs hook configuration. [1] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=807527 > If cryptsetup really requires busybox and forcefully sets BUSYBOX=y, why > does the cryptsetup package not depend on busybox? If there's no reason for sourcing initramfs.conf in hooks/zz-busybox, then this definitely is the way to go. > b/ /usr/share/initramfs-tools/conf-hooks.d/cryptsetup drops the > BUSYBOX=y line. And if this is not an option, because cryptsetup > requires busybox, then this should be reflected in the package > dependencies accordingly by making the Recommends a Depends. I have two cases where an 'apt-get dist-upgrade' from jessie to stretch calls 'systemd.postinst configure' differently: * a minimal jessie chroot (incorrect behavior) * a minimal jessie chroot + bash-completion (correct behavior) I noticed this while analyzing some strange piuparts failures in jessie to stretch upgrades. Unfortunately I neglected it for a long time since I assumed to have hit a strange bug in some systemd support scripts: 1m41.2s ERROR: FAIL: After purging files have disappeared: /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.machine1.conf.dpkg-remove not owned /etc/systemd/system/halt.target.wants/ not owned /etc/systemd/system/halt.target.wants/hwclock-save.service -> /lib/systemd/system/hwclock-save.service not owned /etc/systemd/system/poweroff.target.wants/ not owned /etc/systemd/system/poweroff.target.wants/hwclock-save.service -> /lib/systemd/system/hwclock-save.service not owned /etc/systemd/system/reboot.target.wants/ not owned /etc/systemd/system/reboot.target.wants/hwclock-save.service -> /lib/systemd/system/hwclock-save.service not owned Digging into this I found the systemd.postinst from stretch performing cleanup of hwclock-save.service and removal of that obsolete conffile - but strangely only sometimes: # Cleanup hwclock-save.service, which was shipped in jessie. if dpkg --compare-versions "$2" lt-nl "219-8"; then for t in reboot halt poweroff ; do rm -fv /etc/systemd/system/${t}.target.wants/hwclock-save.service rmdir --ignore-fail-on-non-empty /etc/systemd/system/${t}.target.wants 2> /dev/null || true done fi #DEBHELPER# (the #DEBHELPER# part gets several dkpm-maintscript-helper rm_conffile calls) not here, which is wrong: (Reading database ... 7446 files and directories currently installed.) Bug#808974: minitube: New upstream version 2.5 - please package if possible, or remove package
Package: minitube Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Bug #803716 mentions API changes which are fixed upstream. There is indeed a new upstream version. I tried to build it, but failed because it needs a Google API key at build time. I think this is not possible for Debian (and most others). If it is still possible to build the new upstream version, please do so. If it is not possible, please have the package removed from Debian, because the current version does not work either. As a note to upstream: NewPipe (https://github.com/theScrabi/NewPipe) has code that can access YouTube without any API key. Maybe upstream can borrow code from there, so we get a new upstream version that does not have this blocker? - -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.3.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/lksh Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages minitube depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.10.6-1 ii libc62.21-6 ii libgcc1 1:5.3.1-4 ii libphonon4 4:4.8.3-2 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libqt4-network 4:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libqt4-script4:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libqt4-sql 4:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libqt4-xml 4:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libqtgui44:4.8.7+dfsg-5 ii libstdc++6 5.3.1-4 ii phonon 4:4.8.3-2 ii phonon-backend-vlc [phonon-backend] 0.8.2-1 minitube recommends no packages. minitube suggests no packages. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1 iQJOBAEBCAA4BQJWfSPHMRpodHRwczovL3d3dy5kb21pbmlrLWdlb3JnZS5kZS9n cGctcG9saWN5LnR4dC5hc2MACgkQt5o8FqDE8pZUaA//ZCwACUXq4A8vGpymHwP4 k+UnGR8Z6ugr9hF094QRi80Vi9VMgxqOq2qwdigx0Ev8C89cBGmSUZEIwnzF2tmi Trq8wdj9jJcvzIvmhBHSFwReTRJ3PutsP7cI9z84sT2mFI6IkDqBsOQCEoZPoP1C qR3vgFPRg+OUkAEOocSgKVPEo6i7SUKOjNfIujmp2wvQTRo22I2iiEOyWkuFGn6f NovkZvbGCCfKsA8siLRc16gL9UBXtdlNNQlCnBqG+WqZjQkgI0kU6cfQ0YFdgFVV qlfzWypKmK0GdFaEaiwQHO5oEUNJpg9m3L2AK2mHxgBzL8A3S8lXle5ensvVqCzY xqGbI0OfnPUPMylMmrtx7G7qq5aZBgBuGV27RTrA7ovdIES+qT4IneiJt/5nk3qi 2o3O5gwunm0UQGJK7ynT8OFbht3f8N31PyLfnL6GGWXj68OW9xn25mvy78q7+1s6 /zjudl+Sl2C21ATEu0MBOthn6g04zxrtiBlTB3agv/FR64UgAqsQL8HTaRzFJtn1 mYZnKhQ1bWUHC2RZgtmwr4FGpXuvzwrvMOgeSxrJXWkDMFQruQAiSzVAnaRjtMyQ fAHvge/MyKnvUwGYMCpyn6BO5rN3CzQj3HvhLuJ2ODrS9g+hg415gCDCBWqW0CvJ QR7o1qbCLrfLTCxkwhujABc= =oeke -END PGP SIGNATURE-
