Hi,

geary depends on libwebkitgtk-3.0-0, which is deprecated in favor of
libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 (provided in Debian by webkit2gtk). geary
should be ported to the new webkitgtk version so
we can remove the old, unmaintained one.

Please try to do soon as we're going to try to remove the old webkitgtk soon.

I am filing this bug as "serious" since the old webkitgtk will not be
available in the next major stable release of Debian (codenamed
"buster").

In Ubuntu, I packaged a git snapshot of geary which has been ported to
webkit2gtk.

If you have any question don't hesitate to ask.

On behalf of the Debian WebKit Maintainers,
Jeremy Bicha

LGTM.

I think you are right.

Question is how to coordinate with other anthy users and the latest
ibus.

If you have time to go over all the dependency package coordination,
please go ahead start uploading patched packages. I am a bit short on
time. I have not updated ibus to Debian. Also, I think anthy should
have bumped library version to prevent this breakage in unstable.

But I haven't checked details. You are welcomed to lead this task and
upload as long as you will take responsibility.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'stable'.
It installed fine in 'stable', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

See policy 7.6 at
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-replaces

This test intentionally skips 'testing' to find file overwrite problems
before packages migrate from 'unstable' to 'testing'.

The mipsel build of plplot 5.13 failed because one ocaml test crashed
and another encountered a (generous) timeout, presumably due to
hanging or spinning. I don't have details beyond

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=plplot=mipsel=5.13.0%2Bdfsg-1=1506091509=0

but perhaps you can reproduce this misbehavior on a porter box. Could
you please take a look?

Thanks!

Package: libqsastime-dev
Version: 5.13.0+dfsg-1~exp1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

an upgrade test with piuparts revealed that your package installs files
over existing symlinks and possibly overwrites files owned by other
packages. This usually means an old version of the package shipped a
symlink but that was later replaced by a real (and non-empty)
directory. This kind of overwriting another package's files cannot be
detected by dpkg.

This was observed on the following upgrade paths:

  sid -> experimental

For /usr/share/doc/PACKAGE this may not be problematic as long as both
packages are installed, ship byte-for-byte identical files and are
upgraded in lockstep. But once one of the involved packages gets
removed, the other one will lose its documentation files, too,
including the copyright file, which is a violation of Policy 12.5:
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-docs.html#s-copyrightfile

For other overwritten locations anything interesting may happen.

Note that dpkg intentionally does not replace directories with symlinks
and vice versa, you need the maintainer scripts to do this.
See in particular the end of point 4 in
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-unpackphase

It is recommended to use the dpkg-maintscript-helper commands
'dir_to_symlink' and 'symlink_to_dir' (available since dpkg 1.17.14)
to perform the conversion, ideally using d/$PACKAGE.maintscript.
Do not forget to add 'Pre-Depends: ${misc:Pre-Depends}' in d/control.
See dpkg-maintscript-helper(1) and dh_installdeb(1) for details.

Unfortunately SFCGAL 1.3.2 has the same issue. I've forwarded it upstream.

The severity of this issue is important as long as CGAL 4.11 is in
experimental, the severity should be raised to serious once the
transition starts.

If the issue is still unresolved at that time, I'll disable the SFCGAL
support in PostGIS to keep the latter in testing.

Kind Regards,

Bas

Hi,

mono-tools-gui and monodoc-browser depends on libwebkit1.1-cil, which
is deprecated in favor of libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 (provided in Debian by
webkit2gtk). These should be ported to the new webkitgtk version so we
can remove the old, unmaintained one.

Please try to do soon as we're going to try to remove the old webkitgtk soon.

I am filing this bug as "serious" since the old webkitgtk will not be
available in the next major stable release of Debian (codenamed
"buster").

I am attaching a patch in my next email to drop the dependency. This
means that the ilcontrast tool will not be available, but I think it
may be better than losing the whole package!

If you have any question don't hesitate to ask.

Bug#876564: monodoc-gmime2.6-manual: Depends on nbs monodoc-browser

2017-09-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Package: monodoc-gmime2.6-manual
Version: 2.6.23+dfsg1-1
Severity: serious

monodoc-gmime2.6-manual depends on monodoc-browser | monodoc-viewer
but monodoc-browser is being removed now because it depends on the old
webkit1.
See https://bugs.debian.org/871831

Maybe you should make monodoc-gmime2.6-manual a transitional package
depending on libgmime-2.6-doc ?

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

But the other way round.

Openssl should by default support >= 1.0, and the individual packages
should be the ones to limit it to 1.2 or later.

That limit should be run-time and the config files which do it should
have comments explaining exactly how to undo it.

And packages like MTAs and web servers should have those configs
commented out so that they work by default with 1.0+.

Bug#876537: otags FTBFS with OCaml 4.05.0

2017-09-23 Thread Hendrik Tews
Yesterday, I prepared a new otags package that builds fine with
4.05, see
https://lists.debian.org/debian-ocaml-maint/2017/09/msg00079.html
and
https://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-ocaml-maint/packages/otags.git .
The only thing that is missing now is somebody who sponsors an
upload.

Hendrik

Bug#876533: hol-light FTBFS with OCaml 4.05.0

2017-09-23 Thread Hendrik Tews
I have a look at it, hopefully a new upstream version will fix
the problem.

You can find the command at the beginning of the logfile (in the initial
bug report).

It seems that libextractor uses outdated versions of autoconf macros,
especially m4/ax_create_pkgconfig_info.m4. You could try to replace it
with the version from the autoconf-archive package, which should have
fixed the issue according to [1].

Cheers,
   Sven

1.20.4-1 has been uploade, but needs to pass though NEW processing since
there are new components.

Package: gnat
Version: 7
Severity: serious
Justification: migration to testing would make some Ada packages FTBFS

This RC bug should prevent migration of gnat/7 to testing
until all reverse dependencies are ready to build with it
(because of the versioned -dev packages, most of them require more
than a bin-NMU).

No Ada package depends on gnat-6 anymore.--- End Message ---
