Bug#1064094: setuptools-scm-git-archive shouldn't be in trixie

2024-02-16 Thread Esa Peuha
Source: setuptools-scm-git-archive
Severity: serious

setuptools-scm-git-archive shouldn't be released as part of trixie.
It's broken with setuptools-scm 8 [1] and redundant starting with
setuptools-scm 7 [2], there is a removal request from unstable [3],
and apparently all the remaining source packages that still have
a build-dependency on it will remove it in future uploads.

Bug#1064086: Acknowledgement (/usr/share/doc/libapache2-mod-netcgi-apache/changelog.gz: libapache2-mod-netcgi-apache break apache)

2024-02-16 Thread Frédéric Loyer
We can fix it changing the /etc/apache2/mods-available/netcgi_apache.load

Simply changing the first line

LoadModule netcgi_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_netcgi_apache.so

(netcgi_module instead of netcgi_apache_module)

—
However, I had a new error:

[Sat Feb 17 05:05:36 2024] [Netcgi_apache_mod] error loading shared library:
Sys_error("/usr/lib/ocaml/netcgi2-apache/netcgi_apache.cma: No such file or
directory")

Curiously the netcgi_apache.load has the line

NetcgiRequire netcgi2-apache

And it search a netcgi_apache.cma file.

Package: cloud-initramfs-growroot

Dear Maintainer,

cloud-initramfs-growroot was working for our custom Debian 11 system,
but when we created the Debian 12 system, the following errors were
observed during booting:

GROWROOT: /sbin/growpart: 824: /sbin/growpart: grep: not found
/sbin/growpart: 853: /sbin/growpart: sed: not found
WARN: unknown label
/sbin/growpart: 354: /sbin/growpart: sed: not found
FAILED: sed failed on dump output
/sbin/growpart: 83: /sbin/growpart: rm: not found

Needless to say the root partition was not grown. We had to add
following lines to get it working again:

# in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/growroot:
copy_exec /usr/bin/grep /bin
copy_exec /usr/bin/sed /bin
copy_exec /usr/bin/rm /bin
copy_exec /usr/bin/awk /bin

Bug#1064088: gutenprint: FTBFS in unstable

2024-02-16 Thread Steve Langasek
Source: gutenprint
Version: 5.3.4.20220624T01008808d602-1
Severity: serious
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu noble

Dear maintainers,

gutenprint now fails to build from source in unstable. Initially, it fails
to build because debian/libgutenprintui2-2.symbols expects symbols to be
present that are not part of this library's API but only a result of using
yacc internally. Marking these symbols optional gets past this issue:

 (optional)yy_create_buffer@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_delete_buffer@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_flex_debug@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_flush_buffer@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_scan_buffer@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_scan_bytes@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_scan_string@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yy_switch_to_buffer@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yyalloc@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yychar@Base 5.3.0~pre1
 (optional)yydebug@Base 5.3.1
[...]

But then the package fails because dh_missing complains about files
installed into debian/tmp not being included in any package:

While detecting missing files, dh_missing noted some files with a

As an example, you might want to replace:
 * doc/developer/reference-html/a2128.html
with:
 * usr/share/gutenprint/doc/reference-html/a2128.html
in a file in debian/ or as argument to one of the dh_* tools called
from debian/rules.

Followup-For: Bug #1060898

Hi,

attached you can find an overhaul of the package installation that also
fixes the missing version.h

Having the Debian revision included in the dkms module version is very
unusual, now this only uses the upstream version.

The Vcs-* URLs in the package point to an empty repository ... otherwise
you could have gotten a MR with a sequence of commits.

Package: gsettings-desktop-schemas
Version: 46~beta-1
Severity: normal

Dear Debian GNOME Maintainers,

upgrading from version 45.0-2 to this version introduces a regression:
with LC_TIME=en_GB.utf8 now a 12-hour time format (instead of 24-hour)
is used, for example, in thunderbird.

Is it intended? If so, is there a reason?

Regards,
Jörg.

Package: openbox-gnome-session
Version: 3.6.1-11
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

To reproduce

* Start from a basic non-GUI virtual machine (I used autopkgtest-build-qemu)
* Ensure that a user account exists
* # apt install lightdm xorg openbox-gnome-session
* # reboot
* Log in as the user account, selecting "GNOME/Openbox" from the menu of
  possible X11 sessions

Expected result
===

A basic GNOME-Flashback-like session with Openbox as window manager

Actual result
=

Aug 31 16:55:58 host gnome-session-binary[1795]: WARNING: Unable to find
required component 'org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.A11ySettings'
...
Aug 31 16:55:58 host gnome-session-binary[1795]: WARNING: Unable to find
required component 'org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.XSettings'
Aug 31 16:55:58 host gnome-session-binary[1795]: WARNING: Unable to find
required component 'gnome-panel'
Aug 31 16:55:58 host gnome-session-binary[1795]: WARNING: Unable to find
required component 'nautilus-classic'
Aug 31 16:55:58 host gnome-session-binary[1795]: WARNING: Unable to find
required component 'gnome-flashback-services'

and the session fails with the GNOME Session "something went wrong"
full-screen dialog.

Root cause
==

/usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/openbox-gnome.session declares the
following as required components of a GNOME/Openbox session:

openbox;
org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.A11ySettings;
[some more pieces of gnome-settings-daemon]
org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.XSettings;
gnome-panel;
nautilus-classic;
gnome-flashback-services

but openbox-gnome-session does not have Depends or even Recommends on the
necessary packages to provide those components.

As a minimum, I think it needs to depend on gnome-settings-daemon,
gnome-panel and gnome-flashback, but I tried installing those packages
and that did not fix the failure to start.

gnome-settings-daemon no longer has Clipboard or Mouse plugins according
to gnome-flashback commits

and
.

nautilus-classic hasn't existed for 5
years according to gnome-flashback commit
.

I don't know what gnome-flashback-services is/was, but
gnome-session-flashback lists gnome-flashback as a required component
instead.

Thanks,
smcv

Dear Maintainer,

Trying to renew multiple domains on several servers results in the following:

Exception: Linode api error: [{'ERRORMESSAGE': 'Linode API v3 is no longer
active. Please use Linode API v4: https://www.linode.com/docs/api',
'ERRORCODE': 16}]

This began about a week ago but I just noticed it this morning.

Bug#1053944: q2-types: test failure with pandas 2.1 (Was: Bug#1044068: q2templates: FTBFS with pandas 2.0)

Control: tags -1 help

Hi again,

thanks again for your great help. I admit I need some help for q2-types as
well. While log in the bug report vanished you will easily find things like

TypeError: read_csv() got an unexpected keyword argument 'squeeze'

when trying to build the package.

I've found an issue at pandas upstream[1] which inspired me to the patch

which is obviously wrong since it leads to

Probably a better solution can be found at stackoverflow[2] to use
DataFrame.squeeze('columns') but I'm simply lacking an example how to use
this.

Finally this is not the only error and I would appreciate any helping hint
(patch?) to get the package ported to recent pandas.

Kind regards
Andreas.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install
because it tries to overwrite other packages files.

Why does the package have to ship its own Ifeffit.pm ? Anyway, the
Replaces against libifeffit-perl are missing corresponding Breaks.
But I'm not convinced that Breaks+Replaces is the correct solution here.

cheers,

Andreas

Bug#1061341: Some headers are still unusable

2024-02-16 Thread Adrien Nader
Hi,

I am trying to update the time_t analysis and I'm seeing a couple issues
in headers. Note that I may also be doing something wrong and/or stupid
since I'm approaching this through a-c-c rather than as a regular user.

The two issues:
- at least auth.h (IIRC) refers to lib/strarray.h but the headers might
  rather be cyrus/strarray.h,
- cyrus/bitvector.h uses config.h which isn't shipped.

I was able to analyze the library after modifying auth.h (actually
cyrus/*.h) to use cyrus/strarray.h and skipping bitvector.h. The
analysis returns that the library is both time_t and LFS sensitive. I
will publish a report soon (hopefully this evening but I can't
guarantee it).

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/680701792/buildlog_ubuntu-mantic-amd64.q2templates_2022.11.1+ds-2_BUILDING.txt.gz

Autopkgtest log:
https://ci.debian.net/data/autopkgtest/unstable/amd64/q/q2templates/36575889/log.gz

A common source of failures is that pandas.util.testing has been renamed
to pandas.testing. Both names were available in all 1.x versions (and
hence in Debian stable and oldstable), so Debian packages that were
using this can immediately switch unconditionally.

Bug#1064067: libdemeter-perl: ships perl modules already packaged separately as libxray-scattering-perl, libxray-absorption-perl

2024-02-16 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: libdemeter-perl
Version: 0.9.27+ds6-1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install
because it tries to overwrite other packages files.

>From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  Preparing to unpack .../libdemeter-perl_0.9.27+ds6-1_amd64.deb ...
  Unpacking libdemeter-perl (0.9.27+ds6-1) ...
  dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/libdemeter-perl_0.9.27+ds6-1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/share/perl5/Xray/Absorption/CL.pm', which is also
in package libxray-absorption-perl 3.0.1-4
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   /var/cache/apt/archives/libdemeter-perl_0.9.27+ds6-1_amd64.deb

Why does the package have to ship its own Ifeffit.pm ? Anyway, the
Replaces against libifeffit-perl are missing corresponding Breaks.
But I'm not convinced that Breaks+Replaces is the correct solution here.

cheers,

Andreas

Hi,

The following vulnerability was published for iwd.

CVE-2023-52161[0]:
https://www.top10vpn.com/research/wifi-vulnerabilities/

While this mentions a patch for wpasupplication, it's not obvious
if this was reported/fixed in iwd.

If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry.

For further information see:

Thanks for the report. Could this be another arch-specific valgrind
behaviour change causing FTBFS?

It seems that at some point valgrind on armhf did not raise this error
message, so building gss worked fine. Then valgrind on armhf changed
that lead to the error message above when building the old gss.

You use valgrind version 1:3.20.0-2.1 and the last successful build of
gss used valgrind version 1:3.18.1-1.1 see log:

https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=gss=armhf=1.0.4-1=1659802402=0

Given that gss builds use valgrind on other architectures successfully,
and has succeeded on this architecture before, I don't feel convinced
that valgrind has found a genuine gss/shishi problem here. So I think
this bug can be reassigned to valgrind for analysis.

Some possible relevant links:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1057693
https://tracker.debian.org/news/1482474/accepted-valgrind-13200-2-source-into-unstable/
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=928224

Maybe valgrind should do a debci/autopkgtest test run on new valgrind on
gss or gsasl which has triggered similar bugs before?

/Simon

Dear Maintainer,

since python-reportlab 4.0.1-1, xhtml2pdf cannot pass automatic tests:
see for example,
https://ci.debian.net/packages/x/xhtml2pdf/testing/amd64/43022906/

 from reportlab.platypus.frames import Frame, ShowBoundaryValue
E ImportError: cannot import name 'ShowBoundaryValue' from
'reportlab.platypus.frames' (/usr/lib/python3/dist-
packages/reportlab/platypus/frames.py)

I patched the file xhtml2pdf/context.py to fix this error.

Best regards, Georges.

Hi,

The following vulnerability was published for azure-uamqp-python.

CVE-2024-25110[0]:
| The UAMQP is a general purpose C library for AMQP 1.0. During a call
| to open_get_offered_capabilities, a memory allocation may fail
| causing a use-after-free issue and if a client called it during
| connection communication it may cause a remote code execution. Users
| are advised to update the submodule with commit `30865c9c`. There
| are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

azure-uamqp-python appears bundle azure-uamqp-c, so presumably it's
also affected?

I don't know that I'd call this fixed upstream, since the package is not
directly using rsync, but the fact that he's now rsyncing from sanesecurity
and running his own mirror is progress (that only person he can DoS is
himself) is progress.

If we update to 1.8.0, I don't think we should mark this bug done, but it
might be reasonable to change the severity to Important. What do you think?

Dear maintainer(s),

Dose [1] is reporting a build issue with your package, it's missing a
build dependency. Obviously your build dependencies shouldn't be
removed from testing, but unfortunately there are multiple scenarios
where that can happen nevertheless. To uphold our social contract,
Debian requires that packages can be rebuild from source in the suite
we are shipping them, so currently this is a serious issue with your
package in testing.

Can you please investigate the situation and figure out how to resolve
it? Regularly, if the build dependency is available in unstable,
helping the maintainer of your Build-Depends to enable migration to
testing is a great way to solve the issue. If your build dependency is
gone from unstable and testing, you'll have to fix the build process
in some other way.

Paul

Note: this bug report was sent after some quick manual checks using a
template. Please reach out to me if you believe I made a mistake in my
process.

php-imagick and php-bacon-qr-code transitioned back to testing last
night, so I believe this bug can be closed.

Dear Maintainer,

Python 3.12 dropped support in unittest.TestCase for assertRaisesRegexp and
assertEquals. These two functions were provided as a compability layer
since their deprecation in Python 3.2.

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * Replace obsolete assert* calls (dropped from Python 3.12) with their
correct alternative to fix FTBFS.
 - debian/patches/python312-support.patch

Thanks for considering the patch.

Bug#1044068: q2templates: FTBFS with pandas 2.0

2024-02-16 Thread s3v
Dear Maintainer,

According to [1][2]|

Support for negative integer for :attr:`pd.options.display.max_colwidth`
is deprecated in favor of using ``None`` (:issue:`31532`)|

I guess this line:

 with pd.option_context('display.max_colwidth', -1):

should be changed in:

 with pd.option_context('display.max_colwidth', None):

in [3].

I've not tested #1053942[4] disappears after this bug is fixed.

Kind Regards

Bug#1064037: xhtml2pdf: the new version of python-reportlab breaks xhtml2pdf/context.py

2024-02-16 Thread Georges Khaznadar
Source: xhtml2pdf
Version: 0.2.5-3
Severity: serious
Tags: patch upstream

Dear Maintainer,

since python-reportlab 4.0.1-1, xhtml2pdf cannot pass automatic tests:
see for example,
https://ci.debian.net/packages/x/xhtml2pdf/testing/amd64/43022906/
at line 480,
 from reportlab.platypus.frames import Frame, ShowBoundaryValue
E ImportError: cannot import name 'ShowBoundaryValue' from
'reportlab.platypus.frames' (/usr/lib/python3/dist-
packages/reportlab/platypus/frames.py)

I patched the file xhtml2pdf/context.py to fix this error.

Best regards, Georges.
