Hi,

persalys FTBFS against openturns/1.22-1 which is in experimental, waiting for a
transition. I am almost sure updating persalys to newest upstream version will
solve this. I will care for it soon.

Packages (build) depending on libyojson-ocaml-dev and users upgrading
to trixie might see breakage when depending on or installing
libyojson-ocaml-dev no longer provides the ydump tool.

There is likely no good reason against libyojson-ocaml-dev depending
on yojson-tools.

Hello, new yojson 2.2.1-1 created a new yojson-tools package, making this
package fail
it's own autopkgtests due to missing tools (ydump)

I think the best way to move forward is to update the dependency of your package

  * Depend on yojson-tools instead of old libyojson-ocaml-dev
to fix missing ydump tool (split from libyojson-ocaml-dev)
This fixes autopkgtests

Thanks for considering the patch.

[This bug is targeted to the upcoming trixie release]

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least arm64 with
cython 3.0.5, but succeeds to build with cython 0.29.36. Please
update the package to build with cython 3.0.5 (available in experimental).

If the package cannot be built with cython 3.0.5, please change the
build dependency from cython3 to cython3-legacy (available now in
unstable). There is no replacement for cython3-dbg.

Build logs building with cython 3.0.5 can be found at
https://people.debian.org/~stefanor/cython3/cython-3.0.5/

mythtv-status fails to build from source when built with the nocheck
build profile and option. Since trixie such a failure is considered
release critical, because the autoremover relies on correct nocheck
annotations. A build log looks like it actually runs tests despite the
nocheck option and fails doing so as relevant test dependencies have
been annotated . A very simple workaround for this bug is
dropping all annotations from debian/control, but actually
skipping tests and thus supporting nocheck would be a better solution.

Package: ausweisapp
Version: 2.1.1-1+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

ausweisapp doesn't start the gui, because qml6-module-qtquick-effects
is not installed. It should depend on that package.
Installing qml6-module-qtquick-effects solves the problem.

Dear maintainer(s),

The Release Team considers packages that are out-of-sync between testing
and unstable for more than 30 days as having a Release Critical bug in
testing [1]. Your package src:python-arrow has been trying to migrate
for 52 days [2]. Hence, I am filing this bug.

If a package is out of sync between unstable and testing for a longer
period, this usually means that bugs in the package in testing cannot be
fixed via unstable. Additionally, blocked packages can have impact on
other packages, which makes preparing for the release more difficult.
Finally, it often exposes issues with the package and/or
its (reverse-)dependencies. We expect maintainers to fix issues that
hamper the migration of their package in a timely manner.

This bug will trigger auto-removal when appropriate. As with all new
bugs, there will be at least 30 days before the package is auto-removed.

I have immediately closed this bug with the version in unstable, so if
that version or a later version migrates, this bug will no longer affect
testing. I have also tagged this bug to only affect sid and trixie, so
it doesn't affect (old-)stable.

Your package is only blocked because the arch:all binary package(s)
aren't built on a buildd. Unfortunately the Debian infrastructure
doesn't allow arch:all packages to be properly binNMU'ed. Hence, I will
shortly do a no-changes source-only upload to DELAYED/15, closing this
bug. Please let me know if I should delay or cancel that upload.

Paul

Package: python3-datalad
Version: 0.19.6-2
Severity: serious

Debian Policy § 2.2 says that packages in main (like python3-datalad)
are not allowed to have Recommends on packages that are not in main
(unless it is only a non-default alternative for a package in main).

python3-datalad Recommends: python3-boto but python3-boto has been
removed from Testing and will likely be removed from Unstable soon.
See https://bugs.debian.org/1058652

The replacement is python3-boto3 but the package will likely need
changes to upstream code to work with the new version.

Thank you,
Jeremy Bícha

Changes:
 datalad (1.1.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * debian/control
 - *depends on 7zip as preferred to p7zip-full. I do not think there
are any changes to upstream needed (Closes: #1063611)
 - replace python3-boto with python3-boto3 (Closes: #1070186)
 - add python3-boto3 to build-depends -- testing seems require it
   * debian/patches
 - refreshed
 - deb_setup_no_msgpack_and_duecredit is removed since not needed
since deb_loosenup_setup_requires just makes it depend on "core" set
   of packages only anyways

Dear maintainer(s),

With a recent upload of puredata the autopkgtest of pd-iemmatrix fails
in testing when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of
puredata from unstable. What's worse, where the test normally passes
within 10s of seconds to 2 minutes, it now times out after 2:47 hours.
It passes when run with only packages from testing. In tabular form:

   passfail
puredata from testing0.55.0+ds-1
pd-iemmatrix from testing0.4.0-1
all others from testingfrom testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. Unfortunately
there's isn't much to see.

Currently this regression is blocking the migration of puredata to
testing [1]. Due to the nature of this issue, I filed this bug report
against both packages. Can you please investigate the situation and
reassign the bug to the right package?

Dear maintainer(s),

Your package has an autopkgtest, great. However, it failed to fail
nicely on s390x today, triggered by an upload of puredata. The s390x
host that we use for ci.d.n was running out of disk space multiple times
today and I debugged it down that the culprit is pd-iemmatrix.

When I manually start the test on testing with
"""
root@ci-worker-s390x-01:~# /usr/bin/autopkgtest --no-built-binaries
--timeout=30600 --user debci --apt-upgrade

non-free-firmwaredeb http://deb.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib
non-free non-free-firmware' pd-iemmatrix -- lxc --sudo --name elbrus
autopkgtest-testing-s390x

"""
I see a file appearing in
/tmp/autopkgtest-lxc.3gwldww1/downtmp/build.sYI/src/tests/ called
runtests.log.20240612-1935.1678 which keeps on growing until I kill the
test (currently at 27 GB), it ends with seemingly endless repeats of:

regression-test: 301 tests passed
regression-test: 0 tests failed
error: quit already called with exit code 0

I'll file a bug report with puredata shortly as a pure testing run is
still fine.

Dear maintainer(s),

With a recent upload of puredata the autopkgtest of pd-iemmatrix fails
in testing when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of
puredata from unstable. What's worse, where the test normally passes
within 10s of seconds to 2 minutes, it now times out after 2:47 hours.
It passes when run with only packages from testing. In tabular form:

   passfail
puredata from testing0.55.0+ds-1
pd-iemmatrix from testing0.4.0-1
all others from testingfrom testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. Unfortunately
there's isn't much to see.

Currently this regression is blocking the migration of puredata to
testing [1]. Due to the nature of this issue, I filed this bug report
against both packages. Can you please investigate the situation and
reassign the bug to the right package?

Dear maintainer(s),

Your package has an autopkgtest, great. However, it failed to fail
nicely on s390x today, triggered by an upload of puredata. The s390x
host that we use for ci.d.n was running out of disk space multiple times
today and I debugged it down that the culprit is pd-iemmatrix.

When I manually start the test on testing with
"""

I see a file appearing in
/tmp/autopkgtest-lxc.3gwldww1/downtmp/build.sYI/src/tests/ called
runtests.log.20240612-1935.1678 which keeps on growing until I kill the
test (currently at 27 GB), it ends with seemingly endless repeats of:

regression-test: 301 tests passed
regression-test: 0 tests failed
error: quit already called with exit code 0

I'll file a bug report with puredata shortly as a pure testing run is
still fine.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build
on amd64.

This is most likely caused by a change in dpkg 1.22.6, that enabled
-Werror=implicit-function-declaration. For more information, see

Dear maintainer(s),

I looked at the results of the autopkgtest of your package. I noticed
that it regularly fails. I'm seeing a pattern that it happens more often
on our amd64 host ci-worker13 and often on our s390x which are rather
powerful hosts. The test fails in different locations, but as far as I
saw always on a line that asserts capture_pane (see example below).
Could it be that the code (either the real code or the test code) should
wait a bit until the "pane" has been substantiated? Or maybe that
comment earlier is of interest: Give slow shells some time to settle as
otherwise tests might fail.

Because the unstable-to-testing migration software now blocks on
regressions in testing, flaky tests, i.e. tests that flip between
passing and failing without changes to the list of installed packages,
are causing people unrelated to your package to spend time on these
tests.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help and some more information
from our infrastructure.

Your package build-depends on markdown. Per bug #1063645, markdown is not
maintained upstream or in Debian and should be removed.
Drop-in alternatives, for examples the suggested `discount` or
`python3-markdown` or `libtext-markdown-perl`.

`discount` and `libtext-markdown-perl` provide a `markdown` program if your
package needs that.

Your package build-depends on markdown. Per bug #1063645, markdown is not
maintained upstream or in Debian and should be removed.
Drop-in alternatives, for examples the suggested `discount` or
`python3-markdown` or `libtext-markdown-perl`.

`discount` and `libtext-markdown-perl` provide a `markdown` program if your
package needs that.

Package: apt-listbugs
Version: 0.1.42
Severity: grave

Hi,

Since the upgrade to version 0.1.42, apt-listbugs doesn't work anymore.

As examplen the command
apt-listbugs list apt-lisbugs
gave the error:

Retrieving bug reports... 0% Fail
Error retrieving bug reports from the server with the following error message:
E: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0
peeraddr=[2605:bc80:3010:b00:0:deb:166:212]:443 state=error: certificate verify
failed (unable to get local issuer certificate)
It could be because your network is down, or because of broken proxy servers,
or the BTS server itself is down. Check network configuration and try again

I downgrade apt-listbugs to the version 0.1.41-nmu1, it works just fine.

System: debian/sid

apt-listbugs depends on:

apt (2.9.4)
ruby (any, installed version 1:3.1+nmu1)
ruby-debian (0.3.10+b10)
ruby-gettex (3.3.3-2)
ruby-soap4r (2.0.5-6)
ruby-unicode (0.4.4.4-1+b6)
ruby-xmlparser (0.7.3-4+b5)

recommends:
ruby-httpclient (2.8.3+git20211122.4658227-1)

I don't figure out why this issue occurs.

Cheers.

This is great news, I am glad that you found where the issue was.
I am therefore closing this bug report as a non-bug.

Don't worry about that: you legitimately reported an issue that could
potentially affect other users too, it's just that it was later found
out that the issue was not in apt-listbugs! ;-)

You're welcome! :-)

Your package build-depends on markdown. Per bug #1063645, markdown is not
maintained upstream or in Debian and should be removed.
Drop-in alternatives, for examples the suggested `discount` or
`python3-markdown` or `libtext-markdown-perl`.

`discount` and `libtext-markdown-perl` provide a `markdown` program if your
package needs that.

Package: lacme
Version: 0.8.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Let's Encrypt has recently rotated its intermediate certificates [0].
The previous intermediate certificates (lets-encrypt-r[34].pem and
lets-encrypt-e[12].pem) are concatenated along side the roots
(isrgrootx1.pem and isrg-root-x2.pem) and used as trust anchors for
validation of the issued X.509 certificate before its deployment.

The new intermediates means the validation step now fails. A quick fix
is to add R1[0-4].pem and E[5-9].pem to the certificate bundle, however
that will cease to work once Let's Encrypt rotates its intermediates
again.

A proper fix would be to use the intermediate(s) provided during the
issuance step as -untrusted (for chain building).

Changes:
 lacme (0.8.3-1) unstable; urgency=high
 .
   * New upstream bugfix release.
+ Fix post-issuance validation logic. We avoid pining the intermediate
certificates in the bundle and instead validate the leaf certificate
with intermediates supplied during issuance as untrusted (used for chain
building only). Only the root certificates are used as trust anchor.
Not pining intermediate certificates is in line with Let's Encrypt's
   latest recommendations.
   Closes: #1072847
+ Pass `-in /dev/stdin` option to openssl(1) to avoid warning with OpenSSL
   3.2 or later.
+ Fix test suite to account for Let's Encrypt's (staging) ACME server
   changes.

Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)
X-Debbugs-Cc: u20230731report...@projektzentrisch.de

Dear Maintainer,

earlier today, an attempted rebuild of "libzstd" in a debootstrap/schroot
environment failed with the following error:

[...]
d=6
steps=40
split=100
Save dictionary of size 112640 into file dictionary
make[3]: Leaving directory '/build/packages/libzstd-1.5.5+dfsg2/tests'

make: *** [debian/rules:34: binary] Error 2
dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules binary subprocess returned exit status 2

Steps to reproduce this:

# debootstrap --arch=amd64 sid debian-sid-amd64
[...]
# schroot -c debian-sid-amd64 -u root -d /build/packages -s /bin/bash
(debian-sid-amd64)root@vserver19:/build/packages# cat << EOF >
/etc/apt/sources.list
> deb https://deb.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free non-free-firmware
deb-src https://deb.debian.org/debian sid main contrib non-free
non-free-firmware
EOF
(debian-sid-amd64)root@vserver19:/build/packages# apt update; apt upgrade -y
(debian-sid-amd64)root@vserver19:/build/packages# export EDITOR=nano; apt
install -y build-essential devscripts lintian diffutils patch patchutils quilt
ca-certificates git equivs less nano
(debian-sid-amd64)root@vserver19:/build/packages# dget
http://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libz/libzstd/libzstd_1.5.5+dfsg2-1.dsc
(debian-sid-amd64)root@vserver19:/build/packages# cd libzstd-1.5.5+dfsg2;
mk-build-deps; apt install -y
/tmp/user/0/libzstd-build-deps_1.5.5+dfsg2-1_all.deb
(debian-sid-amd64)root@vserver19:/build/packages/libzstd-1.5.5+dfsg2#
dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -ui -F

The above problem is currently reproducible for a non-root user, an
arm64/aarch64
host (using kernel 5.15 w/ Ubuntu "jammy"), and downstream repositories (namely
Ubuntu "mantic") as well--all combinations have been tried to no avail.

It's my understanding that the above call to "dpkg-buildpackage" should never
fail
in a current debootstrap/schroot environment on x86_64 hosts if all
dependencies are
met (in the absence of DEB_xxx environment variables).

Your package build-depends on markdown. Per bug #1063645, markdown is not
maintained upstream or in Debian and should be removed.
Drop-in alternatives, for examples the suggested `discount` or
`python3-markdown` or `libtext-markdown-perl`.

`discount` and `libtext-markdown-perl` provide a `markdown` program if your
package needs that.

Hi,

The following vulnerability was published for composer.

CVE-2024-35241[0]:
| Composer is a dependency manager for PHP. On the 2.x branch prior to
| versions 2.2.24 and 2.7.7, the `status`, `reinstall` and `remove`
| commands with packages installed from source via git containing
| specially crafted branch names in the repository can be used to
| execute code. Patches for this issue are available in version 2.2.24
| for 2.2 LTS or 2.7.7 for mainline. As a workaround, avoid installing
| dependencies via git by using `--prefer-dist` or the `preferred-
| install: dist` config setting.

If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry.

Please adjust the affected versions in the BTS as needed.
