Bug#918916: Unicorn not reporting proper version for gemfile?

2019-01-12 Thread Julian Calaby
Package: unicorn
Version: 5.4.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #918916

For reference:

As a workaround, changing _both_ versions in the shipped gemspec and the
version in the filename from 0 to 5.4.1 fixes packages which depend on
this, e.g. gitlab.

Detailed steps:

1. Edit /usr/share/rubygems-integration/2.5.0/specifications/unicorn-0.gemspec
2. On line 2, change 0 to 5.4.1 so it reads: # stub: unicorn 5.4.1 ruby lib
3. On line 7, change 0 to 5.4.1 so it reads: s.version = "5.4.1"
4. Rename the file to unicorn-5.4.1.gemspec

Bug#816801: Info from 817039

2016-03-07 Thread Julian Calaby
Hi,

Just to re-iterate the info I added in 817039 as it's kinda hidden by
the merging process:

An alternate fix would be to remove the erroneous version check
altogether as the version of python-dbus is managed by dpkg, making
this check redundant.

As to why I've upgraded this to grave: this failed assersion makes the
main "volti" command fail on startup rendering the main part of the
package, the systray icon, unusable.

Thanks,

Bug#817039: volti: Fails to start due to incorrect python-dbus version check

2016-03-07 Thread Julian Calaby
Package: volti
Version: 0.2.3-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

The python-dbus version check on line 27 of /usr/lib/volti/volti.run is
incorrect due to recent changes to how the version of python-dbus is stored.

> assert dbus.version >= (0, 80, 0)

Alternatively, as the version of python-dbus is managed by Debian, this check
is redundant and the line could be removed.

This failed assersion makes the main "volti" command fail on startup rendering
the main part of the package, the systray icon, unusable.

I'd propose a patch, however I don't know enough Python to be certain that
it'd be correct. That said this should be rapidly fixable by anyone fluent in
Python.

Thanks,

Julian Calaby

Not the response I was expecting, if I'm honest.

Thanks for keeping the packages, I hope making them ready for PHP 7
isn't too much trouble.

Hi Maintainer,

I'm sorry if I'm late to the party on this, however I must point out
that phploc is a useful tool to analyse PHP codebases.

While sloccount is also capable of counting lines of code, it's report
isn't as detailed as phploc's and it does not provide all of the same
statistics. (phploc focuses on the complexity of the codebase,
sloccount focuses on estimates of developer manhours and cost)

I marked it as Grave because mjpegtools isn't available through the

Bug#389579: Apache2.2 and mod auth mysql

On 10/01/07, Sean Lowry <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

I assume you mean my patched version.

The package and the patches for the source are attached.

You'll need to apply both patches to the original source from Debian.

Compiling the package with those packages will then produce the
package attached.

(and this time I'll be sensible enough to cc the bug)

Bug#389579: Apache2.2 and mod auth mysql

I notice in the Debian Bugs Use Group that you have been working on a
patch for libapache2-mod-auth-mysql. It appears that the package has
been removed out of the repository also, which is a problem for me since
I use it in a production system at the moment (yeah I know, using
testing for production system).

If you're inquiring about my mod-auth-mysql => mod-authn-mysql patch,
I discovered how to use the original module with minimal changes in
Apache 2.2, and for my purposes, this is the optimal solution. I have
a partial conversion to the authn infrastructure if you really want
that.

My initial patch to do this was posted to the bug tracker, but my
mailer screwed it up. I don't have a copy handy as I'm away from my
devel box at the moment, however I'll post it to you when I get a
chance.

Do you have any Debian packages I could try out?

I have a hacked debian package, again on my devel box, and I'll send
that to you too.

Note that configuring this beast is a little difficult. I'll post you
a small commented config file to point you in the right direction.

Also is there any
chance that it will be included in the Etch release?

I am not involved with and have no idea what is going on with an etch
release of this package, and as far as I can tell, it's been abandoned
upstream and will soon be dropped from Debian. (Though this is purely
hearsay and I cannot confirm any of this.) If you are looking for real
information on this, email the maintainer of this package.

Also, the functionality of this package may be included in one of the
standard auth modules included with Apache 2.2 however I am yet to
investigate this.

Bug#389579: request for help

2006-12-04 Thread Julian Calaby

Matt,

I'm running Apache 2.2 on a Debian Etch machine with
libapache2-mod-auth-mysql modified as per my patch in an (almost)
production environment with no hassles or issues to report.

To make the package work properly for Apache 2.2, you will also need
to modify the documentation (USAGE) as follows:

=== ORIGINAL ===
Create a .htaccess file in the directory you want to protect (or put the
directives inside a Directory section in httpd.conf) with something like the
following:

AuthName "My Company's Financial Information - Top Secret"
AuthType Basic
require valid-user
=== NEW ===
Create a .htaccess file in the directory you want to protect (or put the
directives inside a Directory section in httpd.conf) with something like the
following:

AuthName "My Company's Financial Information - Top Secret"
AuthType Basic
AuthBasicAuthoritative off
require valid-user
=== END ===

(I'm certain that there are better ways to do this, but this is a one
line fix which works.)

Otherwise you'll constantly end up getting "Cannot open password file"
and MySQL won't even be tried.

I also have a version of mod-auth-mysql which is partly converted to
the auth{n|z} system, but due to getting the current module working
with minor patching and the config line, this is stalled until further
interest is generated. I have user authentication working and need to
do group auth. Note that these changes will not break Apache 1.3
support.

Thanks,
