Bug#496922: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome: mouse cursor disappeared after upgrade

2008-08-28 Thread Paolo Cavallini
Package: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome
Version: 1:0.2.902+svn579-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After the last upgrade, the driver causes the mouse pointer to
disappear. The pointer is working, just not visible.
Going back to vesa cured the problem, but the package itself is useless.

Bug#399828: gpstrans: Segfault

2006-11-22 Thread Paolo Cavallini
Package: gpstrans
Version: 0.40-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

In our setting, gpstrans just segfaults, both when used from GRASS:
/usr/local/grass-6.2.1cvs/scripts/v.in.garmin: line 212: 8418 Segmentation
fault
gpstrans $GPSPORT -dw $TMP.gpst 2/dev/null
and when used alone.
This makes the package unusable. I already reported the bug, but apparently it
is still there.
We're ready for further testing.

Given apt-proxy is entirely broken it's perhaps worth mentioning that
apt-cacher does a similar job but it works in today's unstable.

I installed it today and once I added a sane path_map it worked fine and
in a similar way to apt-proxy.

Bug#365804: r-cran-rodbc: not loading (R 2.3?)

2006-05-02 Thread Paolo Cavallini
Subject: r-cran-rodbc: not loading (R 2.3?)
Package: r-cran-rodbc
Version: 1.1.5-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

*** Please type your report below this line ***
When loading library(RODBC), I get:
Error in lazyLoadDBfetch(key, datafile, compressed, envhook) :
ReadItem: type 241 unknown
Warning message:
package 'RODBC' was built under R version 2.3.0

Apparently this affects other packages also, and may be due to different R
mirrors being out of sync (see eg:
http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/05/12/16743.html)
Reverting to previous version (1.5) solves the problem.
I'm available for testing an updated experimental package, if necessary.

Bug#361827: libgdal1-grass: fails to read GRASS vectors

2006-04-10 Thread Paolo Cavallini
Package: libgdal1-grass
Version: 1.3.1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

When trying to read a grass vector, I get:

~$ ogrinfo
-ro /home/Documenti/datigrass/Mondo_LatLong/PERMANENT/vector/europa/head
Warning 1: GRASS warning: GISBASE enviroment variable was not set,
using:
/usr/lib/grass
ogrinfo: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/gdalplugins/ogr_GRASS.so:
undefined
symbol: Vect_set_fatal_error

Radim Blazek, the author, wrote that:
-lgrass_vect -lgrass_dig2 -lgrass_dgl -lgrass_rtree -lgrass_linkm
-lgrass_dbmiclient -lgrass_dbmibase

should be included in LIBS= in the Makefile

This apparently makes the package unusable for the vector part (the
raster is ok).
