Bug#470066: cacti: Cacti reconfiguration hangs on ucf call
Package: cacti Version: 0.8.7b-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Cacti configuration hangs, with the last displayed line being 'dbconfig-common: flushing admin password'. Inserting diagnostic echos in /var/lib/dpkg/info/cacti.postinst reveals the following line to be the problem: ucf /usr/share/doc/cacti/cacti.apache.conf /etc/cacti/apache.conf Running that command by hand resulted in an immediate return with no errors, so I commented the line out and attempted to install again. The install completed with no errors. (I'm not positive this should be a 'grave' bug, but since it can't be installed it seemed to fit the criteria. Feel free to re-classify) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.19highmem Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages cacti depends on: ii apache [httpd]1.3.34-4.1 versatile, high-performance HTTP s ii apache2-mpm-prefork [httpd] 2.0.55-4 traditional model for Apache2 ii dbconfig-common 1.8.36 common framework for packaging dat ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.19 Debian configuration management sy ii libphp-adodb 4.96-1 The ADOdb database abstraction lay ii lighttpd [httpd] 1.4.15-1 A fast webserver with minimal memo ii logrotate 3.7.1-3Log rotation utility ii mysql-client-5.0 [virtual-mys 5.0.51a-3 MySQL database client binaries ii php4 4:4.4.2-1 server-side, HTML-embedded scripti ii php4-cli 6:4.4.4-9 command-line interpreter for the p ii php4-mysql6:4.4.4-9 MySQL module for php4 ii php4-snmp 6:4.4.4-9 SNMP module for php4 ii rrdtool 1.2.27-1 Time-series data storage and displ ii snmp 5.2.3-7NET SNMP (Simple Network Managemen ii ucf 3.005 Update Configuration File: preserv Versions of packages cacti recommends: pn iputils-ping none (no description available) ii mysql-server 5.0.51a-3 MySQL database server (meta packag ii mysql-server-5.0 [mysql-serve 5.0.51a-3 MySQL database server binaries -- debconf information: * cacti/webserver: Apache cacti/dbconfig-upgrade: true cacti/internal/skip-preseed: false cacti/dbconfig-remove: cacti/remote/port: cacti/dbconfig-reinstall: false cacti/db/app-user: cacti cacti/mysql/admin-user: root cacti/mysql/method: unix socket cacti/remote/host: cacti/upgrade-error: abort cacti/remote/newhost: cacti/purge: false cacti/missing-db-package-error: abort cacti/database-type: mysql cacti/remove-error: abort cacti/db/dbname: cacti cacti/upgrade-backup: true cacti/install-error: abort cacti/internal/reconfiguring: false cacti/passwords-do-not-match: * cacti/dbconfig-install: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#426425: sa-exim: sa-exim does not depend on a recent enough version of exim
Package: sa-exim Version: 4.2.1-8 Severity: grave When I upgraded my system yesterday, mail broke. After investigation, it turned out that sa-exim had been upgraded, but exim4 had not. The new version of sa-exim used the local_scan() version 1.1 ABI, but the old exim4 was compiled with the version 1.0 ABI. I don't know if the version difference was actually the result of the old version of exim4 (and, thus, sa-exim should depend on the first version of exim4 that provides 1.1), or if it's a matter of changed compile-time options (in which case sa-exim does not truly depend on the newer version). Either way, however, the dependencies should insure that sa-exim pulls in a version of exim4 that will work with it. As the problem broke email system-wide, I believe 'grave' is the appropriate severity level for this bug. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.19highmem Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages sa-exim depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.13 Debian configuration management sy ii exim4-daemon-heavy4.67-1 exim MTA (v4) daemon with extended ii libc6 2.5-9 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii spamc 3.2.0-2Client for SpamAssassin spam filte Versions of packages sa-exim recommends: ii perl 5.8.8-7Larry Wall's Practical Extraction -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
