Bug#934188: s3cmd: move to contrib. Depends on a non-free service with no free implementations

2019-08-07 Thread Shawn Landden
Package: s3cmd
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 2.2.1

Hi,

This package depends on a non-free service (Amazon S3), but is in the main
section of the archive.
This is a violation of 2.2.1:
must not require or recommend a package outside of main for compilation or
execution

This program is useless without Amazon S3, and thus should be moved to the
contrib section of the archive.

>From 2.2.2:

Examples of packages which would be included in contrib are:
 - wrapper packages or other sorts of free accessories for non-free programs.

The lone "nullptr" was introduced in the gcc-7 NMU patch. When I get up and
running again
(no longer MIA) I will upload this.

Bug#729080: software-center: uninstallable in sid, broken by python-gi

2013-11-23 Thread Shawn Landden
Package: software-center
Followup-For: Bug #729080

Just ran across this too.
Gnome 3.10 just released software which looks alot like software-center,
so if its too much to keep maintained that could be a replacement.

hmm, after just running apt-get upgrade, this bug is not present
(however I cannot change alternatives with galternatives, the bubble
wont change even with manual mode)
so this bug is seeming somewhat of a heisenbug.

Bug#695739: ghc: FTBFS on armhf: braindead rebase of patch that duplicates upstream fix

2012-12-11 Thread Shawn Landden
Source: ghc
Version: 7.6.1-3
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

The patch armhf_llvm_abi appears to have been mindlessly quilt refreshed
against head, rather than noticing that a fix in the same place,
for the same bug, was applied upstream (Bug #5914
commit:
http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/changeset/3144f85661da176e3d80f28d652b42245becde09
 ,
as even noted in the patch).

When I build this package tomarrow successfully for armhf,
by removing this patch, I will upload to mentors, and post the debdiff patch.
