Bug#672444: About file conflict

2012-05-12 Thread Tatsuki Sugiura
Hello,

I'm sorry, I uploaded new html-ext package before checking
new rdtool pakcagte.

I'd like to ask maintainer of ruby-rd to make transition
packages for ruby-rd-html-ext and librd-html-ext-ruby from
ruby-rd source package.

I'll request remove ruby-rd-html-ext.

I prepared patched package and sent mail to security team,

I guess that #550399 affects on many build process.

Bug#565836: libfilesystem-ruby1.9: Please drop the dependency on ruby 1.9.0

 Hi,

 Ruby 1.9.0 is going away in Squeeze, replaced by Ruby 1.9.1. This
 transition is made mandatory by API changes upstream.

 Your package currently ships some files in /usr/lib/ruby/1.9.0. This
 will no longer work with 1.9.1.

 You can either:
 - port your package to Ruby 1.9.1
 - drop the Ruby 1.9.X binary package

 There is (or will be) more information on
 http://wiki.debian.org/Ruby191Transition

 Thanks

 Although I understand from the bug report that there are reasons for this
 change, it does have quite a large size impact:

 idA  liblocale-ruby1.8-61.4kB  0.1-6  0.1-6

 piA  libreadline-ruby1.8   +299kB  none 1.8.6.114-

 So, from a very nice 126kB we suddenly go to a whopping 4MB, a factor 32!

Thanks, also I think so...
First of all, I'll move libegettext-ruby-date from recommends to suggests.

 Could you please check again if this is all really necessary or that there
 are other alternatives?

If file size is important problem, we should back to use locale.so.

Bug#469493: gettext issue on apt-listbugs

2008-03-22 Thread Tatsuki Sugiura
Hello,

Now, upstream author of libgettext-ruby replaces liblocale-ruby
by his module intentionally. I didn't check that before upload
new version. That's my fault. I should to notice and discuss and
before uploading.

Anyway,
libgettex-ruby provides locale support in pure ruby. Therefor
you can run as before by rewriting just;
  require 'locale'
to
  require 'locale.so'
.

However I think, it's better that we transit to use ruby-gettext
from liblocale-ruby + libintl-gettext-ruby.
Because setlocale in C layer provides some bad side-effect on
ruby (breaks Mershal and probably another). But unfortunally,
ruby-gettext can NOT support full-feature of locale at present.
It just loads gettext catalog (no support for date and number format).

If you agree with my suggestion, please see the patch attached.
Thant is fixes to transit ruby-gettext from locale.so + intl.
# The patch includes changes to rename Config class. Because it
# conflicts with ruby built-in class name provided by rbconfig.

Regards,

 Uninstalling the fcgid module allows apache to start without issue.

 Related package versions
 libc6 2.3.6.dsl-13

I think, this is a issue of dependency.

libapache2-mod-fcgid 1:2.1-1 has been compiled with libc6 2.5-9+b1.
Then, the package (1:2.1-1) do not work under old libc, and do NOT
compat with etch.

I need to add dependency field for new libc6.

 soon as they start. This started happening when I upgraded from Apache 2.0.x.
 Here's a snippet from the Apache error log, just for fun:
 [Wed Dec 06 16:48:11 2006] [notice] SIGUSR1 received. Doing graceful restart
 [Wed Dec 06 16:48:12 2006] [notice] Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) mod_auth_kerb/5.3

 [Wed Dec 06 16:48:17 2006] [notice] child pid 10020 exit signal Segmentation

Hmmm... Would you show me stack dump?

You can get core by setting CoreDumpDirectory in config of apache;
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mpm_common.html#coredumpdirectory

and, do that;

$ su
# ulimit -c unlimited
# /etc/init.d/apache2 stop
# /etc/init.d/apache2 start

You'll get message like bellow in error.log.

[Sun Dec 10 11:41:05 2006] [notice] child pid 15919 exit signal Segmentation
fault (11), possible coredump in /tmp

And please get backtrace with bt command
under gdb -c /tmp/core /usr/sbin/apache2.

Bug#317244: libapache-mod-fastcgi: assumes (?) webserver runs as nobody:nogroup and fails to start

2005-07-14 Thread Tatsuki Sugiura
Hello,

 In Message Bug#317244: libapache-mod-fastcgi: assumes (?) webserver runs
 as nobody:nogroup and fails to start
[EMAIL PROTECTED],
 Chris Wage [EMAIL PROTECTED]  said;
 It would appear that perhaps the module was compiled expecting the server to
 be
 running as nobody:nogroup rather than www-data:www-data, which is the case in
 Debian. You can of course simply make the /var/lib/apache/fastcgi folder
 writeable by the nobody user, or the nogroup group, which allows apache to
 start, but fastcgi scripts still fail because the webserver cannot write to
 the
 fastcgi folder (it creates the dynamic/ folder owned by nobody and mode 0700)

FastCGI module don't expect apache is running as nobody.
When root is going to start apache, the module will get uid/gid from
Apache API (ap_user_id/ap_group_id).

You can check it with minimal config file like following;

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~% cat fcgitest-apache.conf
User www-data
Group www-data
LoadModule fastcgi_module /usr/lib/apache/1.3/mod_fastcgi.so
FastCgiIpcDir /home/sugi/fcgiipctest

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~% ls -ld fcgiipctest
d-  2 sugi sugi 48 2005-07-15 12:34 fcgiipctest/

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~% id www-data
uid=33(www-data) gid=33(www-data) groups=33(www-data)

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~% sudo apache -f /home/sugi/fcgitest-apache.conf -T
Syntax error on line 4 of /home/sugi/fcgitest-apache.conf:
FastCgiIpcDir /home/sugi/fcgiipctest: access for server (uid 33, gid 33)
failed: read not allowed

If correct server uid/gid are shown, it works well.

 FastCgiIpcDir /var/lib/apache/fastcgi: access for server (uid 65534, gid
 65534)
 failed: write not allowed

I think... perhapse, the setting User nobody was written in your apache
config.
Please check your all config files listed as

strace /usr/sbin/apache -T 21 | grep open \
  | egrep -v /(usr|lib|dev)/ | grep -v No such \
  | egrep -v /etc/(hosts|group|passwd|ld\.so|resolv\.conf|nsswitch\.conf)
