Bug#1021672: udev: No USB (no keyboard nor FIDO token!) at boot after update from udev 251.5-1 to 252.5-2
How can I instruct the kernel to save the logs to a file? The rootfs is not mounted (so the logs cannot be persisted by journald), and I have no keyboard to be dropped to a init shell and save e.g. /run/initramfs/rdsosreport.txt or the output of any log in RAM to an unencrypted partition. I don't seem able to find a relevant option in the man page, apologies. After an upgrade to udev 251.5-2, keyboard, mouse, and FIDO token (all three USB devices) are not primed during boot. This is easy to see by just attempting to hit BlockNum on the keyboard (the light does not come on). Hence, there is no way anymore for me to unlock the root filesystem, which renders the whole system unusable. Note: I use dracut, although I do not think it is to blame here. Booting from a USB pendrive, and downgrading to udev 251.5-1 (along with systemd) fixes the issue. Let me know how I can provider better information to you. Please remove "debug" from the kernel command line and capture the log messages OpenPGP_signature Description: OpenPGP digital signature
