I also find it ridiculous that it takes two weeks to build a package on
the powerpc arch.  It is in the queue.  There is nothing more that I can
do about it.

unfortunately, alsa-base is still uninstallable on powerpc because the new
alsa-utils ppc package is not in sid even tough the x86 one is (and alsa-base
as well as alsa-utils in fact is installable on x86).

Trying to install alsa-base on ppc fails with:

  alsa-base: Depends: alsa-utils (= 1.0.8-1) but 1.0.7-2 is to be installed
