There are only 2 ways of dealing with this: There's a third way you refuse to consider that's being working for more than three months. I'll be glad to resume discussions (preferably out of this bug) if there's a chance to convince you or to actually improve the system. But opening RC bugs pointing to the obvious mess doesn't help neither our users nor my blood pressure. AFAIR should isn't RC, though some might not want to release an obvious mess. I hope the release team notices this is the only official solution currently available. ia32-libs maintainers: Please don't regard this message as an attack. You're doing a good job. I can't take advantage of it, but it's a good job nevertheless. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#484599: ia32-libs contains several sources and break policy 4.13
Package: ia32-libs Version: 2.5 Severity: serious Hi, ia32-libs contains several sources of software that are already packaged and available from the Debian archive. This is a clear breakage of point 2.13 of the Debian policy 3.8.0.0: « Debian packages should not make use of these convenience copies unless the included package is explicitly intended to be used in this way. » None of the software contained into ia32-libs are intended to be packaged this way.
