Bug#498202: remove kolabd?

Bug#498202: remove kolabd?
Hi, 2008/10/1 Thomas Viehmann [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi, (...) Ugh. It really stinks to put in all the work in a timely fashion and then have it ignored until it's too late. :( I probably should have send a mail to debian-devel. But my experience of mentoring is not good (see package xinha in debian mentors). On the other hand, unless the release team wants to make a huge exception for kolabd and one of the maintainers actually can be bothered to upload the packages, removing these: Agree. So nevermind, in case you want to remove this mess, remove the following packages from lenny: kolab-filter kolab-freebusy kolab-resource-handlers kolab-webadmin kolabadmin kolabconf kolabd libkolab-perl and possibly providing backports after the release might be the more viable option to move things forward from here. Agree Kind regards T. P.S.: Depending on how long you have been involved in kolab-maintenance, asking the uploaders to enable you to upload via the Debian Maintainer process might be a good idea to prevent things like this in the future. I should start the Debian Maintainer process for ctdb also (I'm in the NM process too). -- Thomas Viehmann, http://thomas.viehmann.net/ Mathieu Parent -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. * Mathieu Parent [Wed, 01 Oct 2008 09:49:51 +0200]: Hi, Hello, On the other hand, unless the release team wants to make a huge exception for kolabd and one of the maintainers actually can be bothered to upload the packages, removing these: Agree. So nevermind, in case you want to remove this mess, remove the following packages from lenny: kolab-filter kolab-freebusy kolab-resource-handlers kolab-webadmin kolabadmin kolabconf kolabd libkolab-perl Okay, I've marked these packages for removal (except kolab-filter and kolab-freebusy, which were not in testing). Thanks, P.S.: I'm sorry that it was to be this way. Good luck with getting DM access, so that you can more usefully take good care of these packages! -- Adeodato Simó dato at net.com.org.es Debian Developer adeodato at debian.org - You look beaten. - I just caught Tara laughing with another man. - Are you sure they weren't just... kissing or something? - No, they were laughing. -- Denny Crane and Alan Shore -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#498202: remove kolabd?
Hi, Mathieu Parent wrote: tags 498202 + pending The corrected packages are ready since some month, but as I'm not DD, I can't upload. If you cannot upload and have not been able to sponsor these packages for months, it might not be as pending as setting the tag suggests. So if somebody want to upload the packages, and also if the release team agree to unfroze kolabd, libkolab-perl, kolab-webadmin,kolabconf and (new) php-kolab. The major problem is that it is another kolab version (2.2) but version 2.1 doesn't work with openldap 2.4 so this is the only way to get kolab in lenny. Are you quite sure that putting a completely different upstream version in lenny more than two months into the freeze amounts to a plan? In particular if you're in the if the release team agree state of affairs. In the end it might be advisable to target reinclusion of kolabd, libkolab-perl, kolab-webadmin, and kolabconf for squeeze. Hi, 2008/9/30 Thomas Viehmann [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi, Mathieu Parent wrote: tags 498202 + pending The corrected packages are ready since some month, but as I'm not DD, I can't upload. If you cannot upload and have not been able to sponsor these packages for months, it might not be as pending as setting the tag suggests. I mark the bug pending because it is fixed in svn. It was not uploaded because of lack of time from Peter and other members of the pkg-kolab team. That's why some of the 2.2 packages are already uploaded. Of course the packages need review and this step is not finished. Bug#498202: remove kolabd?
Hi, #49202 has been open for three weeks without maintainer response. AFAIUI, kolabd has been broken by the libkolab-perl upload two weeks before the freeze. It's popcon is ~30, so it might be a candidate for lenny removal unless the maintainers have a plan for fixing things.
