Bug#546505: Fails to start returning a segmentation fault error

2009-11-14 Thread Fathi Boudra
Hi,

IMHO, that's an issue caused by libqscintilla2-5.
A package rebuild should resolve the issue.

cheers,

Fathi

Hi Fathi,

After your suggestion I upgraded libqscintilla2-5 from testing
(libqscintilla2-5_2.3.2-1.1_i386.deb) to unstable
(libqscintilla2-5_2.4-4_i386.deb) and now everything works fine. Thanks!

If you need me to do more tests with the previous configuration just let
me know.

Have a nice weekend,

Paolo.

2009-11-12 Thread Ariel Garcia
Hi,

i can reproduce it, exactly the same behaviour and strace as in the initial
report. Didn't try to recompile though.

Strange: when calling the program without parameters it segfaults.

When calling it
universalindentgui MyFile.cpp # existing or not, same result
or even
universalindentgui -f MyFile.cpp
i get the dialog like Paolo described for --help.

Did you see the link in my mail? It has instructions how to rebuild
the package to get debug symbols.

Are you able to do that?

Best Regards,
Patrick

Hi,

I cannot confirm your problem. Does the problem still exists?
Could you please provide a backtrace with debugging symbols? [1]

Best Regards,

Hi Patrik,

Yes, the problem is still there.

I couldn't find any debugging symbols package for universalindentgui.
Please, let me know where I can find them and if I need to install
additional debug packages.

I tried to load them from /usr/bin/universalindentgui but I'm not sure
it worked. I attach here is the gdb output anyway, I guess it won't be
of much help.

Have a nice day,

Paolo.

Bug#546505: Fails to start returning a segmentation fault error

2009-09-13 Thread Paolo Scarabelli
Package: universalindentgui
Version: 1.1.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

universalindentgui fails to start and returns a segmentation fault error:

pa...@neptune:~$ universalindentgui
Segmentation fault

Using the -v 0 option has the same result (no additional information is
printed).

Trying with --help pops up a window warning that an invalid parameter has been
found and gives me a list of possible parametes. Clicking Ok (the only
option) just closes the window and types Invalid parameter found. Allowed
parameters are... in the console.

Reinstalling the package didn't help.

Regards,

Paolo.
