Bug#665476: libsasl2-2 - ABI change without changing ABI name

2012-10-14 Thread Ondřej Surý
Please revert, this will only break everything around and we don't
really want transition sasl right now.

The only thing which broke was openldap due some really deep internal
library symbols, which are not used anywhere else, and it's already
fixed, so I don't think this deserves transition.

Debian release might have different opinion though, but if not I
suggest to set this as wheezy-ignore.

And your patch is wrong, you have bumped soname, but left the package
name same, which is even more wrong the this subtle breakage in the
first place.

Ok, looks like its been canceled. If the real breakage has already
been dealt with, then wouldn't it be appropriate at this point to go
ahead and just downgrade the severity to important.

Best wishes,
Mike

2012-03-24 Thread Bastian Blank

Version: 2.1.25.dfsg1-4
Severity: serious

libsasl2-2 defines breaks relations for something that is most likely an
ABI change. This means it _must_ change the ABI name in the process.
