Bug#708298: [Pkg-net-snmp-devel] Bug#708298: libsnmp30: unversioned file in shared library package
Hi, libsnmp15 package has same file, so its bug is not introduced by me... ;) jokeWhat a relief!/joke On Wed, 15 May 2013 08:42:24 +0200 Vincent Bernat ber...@debian.org wrote: net-snmp-config is also used to create SNMPv3 users. Or how about moves to libsnmp-base package? (with /etc/snmp/snmp.conf) Adjusting package dependency maybe necessary but -base sounds suitable for users needs. -- Regards, Hideki Yamane henrich @ debian.or.jp/org http://wiki.debian.org/HidekiYamane -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#708298: libsnmp30: unversioned file in shared library package
❦ 19 mai 2013 14:54 CEST, Hideki Yamane henr...@debian.or.jp : net-snmp-config is also used to create SNMPv3 users. This is quite unfortunate but this means it needs to be moved into libsnmp-bin or something like this. Okay, then we'd introduce libsnmp-bin package sounds reasonable for me. Or how about moves to libsnmp-base package? (with /etc/snmp/snmp.conf) Yes, this seems more sensible than adding a new package. -- Make your program read from top to bottom. - The Elements of Programming Style (Kernighan Plauger) pgp6zZcQeBm7e.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#708298: libsnmp30: unversioned file in shared library package
Package: libsnmp30 Version: 5.7.2~dfsg-3 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 8.2 libsnmp30 ships this file: /usr/bin/net-snmp-config This is serious violation of Policy §8.2: If your package contains files whose names do not change with each change in the library shared object version, you must not put them in the shared library package. I think this file should be moved into libsnmp-dev. -- Jakub Wilk -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
