Bug#722479: Doesn't contain license full text in source package

2013-09-24 Thread Eriberto
Updating the situation...

I sent a mail to upstream at 20130909. I will wait up to first week of
the octuber to resend the mail.

Searching in my mail, I found a message that I sent to upstream,
saying about the problem, in march 2010. The upstream doesn't agreed
to put the license inside the package. So, I kept the package in 2.7.1
version. I will wait a time for a reply.

Regards,

Eriberto

As I already stated here, I forgot about that clause in MPL. What else do you
want me to do?

Bug#722479: Doesn't contain license full text in source package

2013-09-12 Thread Eriberto
Michael,

No. You said I was/is already working on this and it didn't was a
fact. I said about license again because your speech is better here
and I need to be treated with more cordiality, when in pvt, to help to
solve the problems. But, we need to go to work and do it in peace. :-)

I also need to know what to do about the other quoted package, linky,
which is a duplication of iceweasel-linky. I can be wrong but think
that linky or iceweasel-linky must be removed. Is that? Help me
please.

I will contact the upstream now to tell about license file.

Have a nice day.

Regards,

Eriberto

Package: iceweasel-linky
Severity: serious
User: paul...@debian.org
Usertags: ftp

thanks

Howdy folks,

There's no upstream license at all in the package. This
violates both the GPL and MPL.

MPL-1.1 section 3.1:

You must include a copy of this License with every copy of the Source
  Code You distribute.

LGPL-2.1 (as example, all GPLs have this clause) section 1:

   1. You may copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Library's complete
source code as you receive it, in any medium, provided that you
conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an appropriate
copyright notice and disclaimer of warranty; keep intact all the notices
that refer to this License and to the absence of any warranty; and
distribute a copy of this License along with the Library.

(which is violated when we distribute the orig.tar.gz on it's own, which
 we do)

Thanks for your work,
  Paul

Yeah, we discussed this already in the team, but ...

... I simply forgot about this clause. Eriberto was/is already working on this.

Bug#722479: Doesn't contain license full text in source package

2013-09-11 Thread Eriberto
Hi Michael and Paul,

Michael, I think you're mistaken. In our last talk you said that the
license quoted by upstream site was sufficient and I disagree. So I
did nothing yet because I was waiting a position about the theme.

I would like to ask about linky, another package that uses the same
upstream source code, provides the same binary (xul-ext-linky) and
have the same license problem.

Best regards,

Eriberto
