Package: extlinux
Version: 3:6.03~pre18+dfsg-1
Severity: critical

Dear extlinux maintainer(s),

Having extlinux installed with no syslinux-stuff package causes system
to not boot after kernel upgrade and subsequent removal of the previous
kernel version.

To achieve an ability to boot systems, extlinux relies on an
extlinux-update utility which is now contained in syslinux-stuff
package. And yet, extlinux does not depend on syslinux-stuff.

Please add dependency on syslinux-stuff. (No, adding note in NEWS file
is not solving the problem of silently leaving systems unbootable.
Please add dependency on syslinux-stuff to the extlinux package.)

Thanks in advance,
Best regards
– Miroslaw Baran
