Package: evolution-data-server
Version: 3.16.3-1.1
Severity: serious
Tags: sid stretch

Hi,

With the latest debian packages, 3.16.3-1.1 evo cannot any longer
connect to Contacts and the gmail account:

Failed to connect to 'Contacts'
Cannot find a corresponding account in the org.gnome.OnlineAccounts
service from which to obtain a password for 'a...@gmail.com'

Failed to connect account 'a...@gmail.com'
The reported error was "Source 'a...@gmail.com' doesn't support prompt
for credentials.

This problem has been found in archlinux already:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/45394 and reported to work OK with
3.16.4, so please package that version or the latest version 3.16.5 in
sid.

Communicating on the evolution ML gave the following answer (quoting

Believed to be fixed in 3.16.4 as per the report. Please reopen
if this is not the case. Note that, if I'm reading the upstream reports
correctly, accounts created with 3.16.3 are known to be broken even
after upgrading, so please do not reopen unless an account created
with 3.16.5 or later has this issue.

Also marking it as "found" in 3.16.3-1, since upstream acknowledge this
bug as present in 3.16.3. At the moment, the BTS thinks this bug was
specifically introduced by my NMU 3.16.3-1.1, which seems highly unlikely
and is getting in the way of the libstdc++ transition; if you reopen it,
we'll still want newer versions to migrate.
