I did some NMUs/Uploads to help the transition move forward, and I think 
reverse-dependencies
are mostly in place, but in the meanwhile gdcm got an RC bug (from me), because 
build-dependencies
aren't installable anymore.

So, while vtk6 folks prepares the transition, keeping this one open is the best 
solution.
(and closing in advance was a wrong choice, but I was mostly sure the 
transition was ready at that
point).

I'm keeping the bug closed for now, but in this case I've just checked
