Bug#837940: gnome-twitch-player-backend-mpv-opengl: immediate segmentation fault
Hi Jonas, since apparently replies to bugs are not automatically sent to the submitter, you probably didn't get my previous message. Sorry for that :( Anyways, here it is: On Thu, 15 Sep 2016 19:58:39 +0200 Jonas Smedegaard wrote: > Package: gnome-twitch-player-backend-mpv-opengl > Version: 0.3.0-1 > Severity: grave > Justification: renders package unusable > > Selecting mpv backend immediately causes segmentation fault. Hi Jonas, I can not reproduce this. Can you provide one (or more) of the following things? 1. Log messages (i.e. run gnome-twitch in a terminal, maybe with a lower logging level by giving it "--log-level=debug" or something as an argument) 2. A backtrace (install the dbgsym packages for gnome-twitch and gnome-twitch-player-backend-mpv-opengl and run gnome-twitch in gdb, then get a full backtrace with the "bt full" command. 3. A core dump (I would rather prefer the first two, if they are meaningful) It would also be interesting to know what kind of graphics hardware you have (Intel, NVIDIA, AMD...) and if you have tried other backends (and whether they work). From your report it seems that the segfault happens directly on selecting the backend, not on playback, is that correct? Were you selecting it from the settings dialog[1] outside of a stream, or when you were prompted to select one when trying to watch a stream? Does the same happen when you try the other one of the two methods? Sincerely, Tim Dengel [1] You can reach that dialog by clicking on the "gnome-twitch" item in gnome's "task bar" and then selecting "settings"
