It's actually not a proper fix, but just a way to use legacy programs
without
having to change their code. On the other hand, the last dirdiff release was
in 2005. I'm not sure the upstream author is interested in porting it to the
newer Tcl/Tk.

dirdiff is going to be removed from unstable/testing on the 5th of Mai. 
Unless you have been in communication with Santiago and he has a plan 
on how to move forward with this issue, I'd ask you to please do the NMU.


I am no tcl/tk expert but I have read your patch and it looks good to me. 
So, unless Santiago objects, I'd ask you to please NMU.


Also, it'd be nice, if you could tell upstream (Paul Mackerras) about the 
fixes so it gets included upstream.
