Ok, apparently this bug is a duplicate of
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8210411.

Although not ideal we can work around it by passing -Djdk.gtk.version=2
to all JavaFX applications at the moment. Thus I'm lowering the severity
to important.
