Bug#971040: gnome-shell-extension-easyscreencast: please test with GNOME Shell 3.38 and update dependency
Control: tags -1 - fixed + pending Hello Bruno, Thanks for pointing out to the fix and providing an MR, I have also replied there. I removed the "fixed" tag as it doesn't apply to this situation, I believe "pending" would be more appropriate. I'm gonna test the fix and upload if everything works (as said on the MR, feel free to change it to apply a patch instead of changing upstream). Cheers -- Samuel Henrique

May I ask the release team to remove it from testing? I'd like to get GNOME 3.38 into testing soon, so that we can get as much user testing on it as possible before we freeze (this will be the version we ship in bullseye, unless the planned freeze date slips by several months), and that seems higher-priority to me than any of the Shell extensions. There's no need to remove it from unstable, unless it becomes clear that the necessary updates for 3.38 will never happen. smcv
Bug#971040: gnome-shell-extension-easyscreencast: please test with GNOME Shell 3.38 and update dependency
Control: tags -1 help upstream Hello Simon, Thanks for the bugreport, I've bumped the requirements to make it work with 3.38 but the extension fails to load with: $ sudo journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-shell | grep screencast Sep 28 18:01:57 tnetennba gnome-shell[2373]: JS ERROR: Extension easyscreenc...@iacopodeenosee.gmail.com: ImportError: No JS module 'screencast' found in search path You mention a 1.2.0 release, but I don't think that ever happened, there is a commit bumping the version, and some non-critical changes, but no release was made, in any case, I don't think it will solve the issue. This package has only been alive with patches that I keep applying for compatibility for some time now, if we don't manage to solve this, I'm happy to let the package be removed from our repositories, especially if it blocks gnome's transition. Bug#971040: gnome-shell-extension-easyscreencast: please test with GNOME Shell 3.38 and update dependency
Package: gnome-shell-extension-easyscreencast Version: 1.1.0-2 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Control: block 969321 by -1 GNOME Shell 3.38 is on its way into unstable, which makes gnome-shell-extension-easyscreencast uninstallable. Please test with GNOME Shell 3.38, and if possible upload a version that is compatible. If it isn't possible to make this extension compatible, then this extension will need to be removed from testing to let the new GNOME release migrate. A new version 1.2.0 seems to be available upstream. I don't know whether it will work with 3.38, but it seems more likely than 1.1.0. Thanks, smcv
