Ah, my mistake, bartm only closed the bug. I assumed he had also uploaded the
package.

I've now done so (adopting it into Debian Science as you suggest).

Thank you for your contribution to Debian!

regards
Stuart

Are you sure? I didn't receive any emails about an upload, and the
tracker doesn't say anything about a recent upload either...

No worries. Thanks for taking care of an RC bug :)

It's quite unusual to include the VCS within a team when the package is not
maintained by the team; however, it's probably also better to have a packaging
VCS somewhere than to not have one these days.

Anyway, I agree with your assessment that the package probably lives best
within the Science Team and so I'll adopt the package into the Debian Science
Team. Thanks for setting up a VCS for it!

I see bartm beat me to uploading it.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian!

cheers
Stuart

2021-01-10 Thread Fabian Wolff
Hi Stuart,

thanks for having a look at the package!

But no, I do not currently intend to adopt this package. I just
thought I'd try and help with the freeze preparation by fixing the RC
bug in this package.

The reason I created the repository in the Science Team area is that I
have write access there (unlike in the Debian group) and because it
fits topically. If this is a problem, you can create a repository in
the Debian group, give me "Maintainer" access (so that I can push to
master), and I'll change the Vcs-* fields in d/control.

In any case, I've changed my upload to a QA upload now and reuploaded
it to Salsa and Mentors.

Best,
Fabian

Hi Fabian

I see you've imported the package into the Debian Science Team area on salsa.
Since xylib is orphaned, do you intend to adopt it and maintain it within the
Debian Science team? That would be a great outcome.

If you update the Maintainer and Uploaders fields in debian/control, close
#979256 in the changelog and update the version to 1.6-1, then I can sponsor
the maintainer upload to adopt the package :)

Stuart
