Re: Artwork for Debian

I will work up an idea for a CD cover as I get time (which I have
none right now), and if you like it, fine, if not, say so.

Sounds good. As Ed Street was saying, the current Debian CD artwork
is not too impressive. Any progress in that area will be good. :-)

One thing I would appreciate is CD covers where I can add some text to
describe my special version of the CD. I'm part of a team producing
Skolelinux, a Debian-based distribution for schools.

Another thing to remember is that there are two types of CDs, the
normal ones, and the non-US ones. All of these have several volumes,
so the cover must have a place for volume number (1-8 at the moment, I
think).

Hi Robert,

I've got a feeling you're talking about the default WindowMaker
desktop under Debian. If you have a debian box and have installed
WindowMaker, it is under
/usr/share/WindowMaker/Backgrounds/Debian.jpg

apt-get install wmaker

I think kdewallpapers contains it as well.

Regards,

Bernard.

I would like to contribute some artwork to Debian as I have time. Do
you need artwork for the new release or for CD covers? I am a
professional commercial artist and freelance web designer.

Good looking CD covers would be very nice. I remember a few years ago
I looked for some nice CD covers, but was unable to find any. Of
course this is a bit better now. Have a look at
URL:http://www.debian.org/CD/artwork/.

By the way, I have seen this great Debian desktop image with the

No idea.

Hello,

Not to offend anyone but the artwork on the page is nothing to write
home about.
