Re: jigdo problems
From: Richard Atterer [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jigdo works just fine - the .iso.tmp file is created at the beginning with its final size, but filled with zero bytes. Later, parts of it are overwritten with the downloaded data. You can tell that jigdo is making progress by looking at the messages Found X of the Y files required by the template that are printed from time to time. The second value Y should decrease. When it reaches zero, the download is finished. [FWIW, so many people have reported this bug that I'm going to change the behaviour of the jigdo GUI app not to fill the image with zero bytes first.] Ummm, I like the current behaviour (I am using the CLI). Because the cdimage distribution form is one that bittorrent does good. And that it already has some mindshare. I don't see an advantage in BitTorrent. It needs new software, users to spread data, extra administration, support. Moreover jigdo is IMO the best way to spread Debian CDs, thanks to the nature of ISO9660. Yes, but there is a fairly large install base that already has the software. The other point is that I'm willing to maintain this. /Mattias Wadenstein -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bootable Woody DVD-Images?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hello all! I have a new problem with debian images - I'm building images via debian-cd (latest CVS version) and for cds anything works fine. But if I try to make DVD images, the images contain all data but aren't bootable - perhaps this is because woody normally has more than one bootable cd? Is there any solution to build bootable woody dvd images? That's OK - for some odd reason wget for Windows prints this warning, but it can safely be ignored. The directory floated around 598Mb, varying plus and minus 5Mb for about 2 hours. I'm going to download the whole CD image instead but I thought you should know about this bug. jigdo works as expected - see http://www.dirac.org/linux/debian/jigdo/debian-jigdo-mini-howto.html#AEN364: Why doesn't jigdo work? It downloads some packages and deletes them. I know it doesn't write them to the iso.tmp file because the file size doesn't change!
