Fishing with the Debian Angling Association

2018-02-08 Thread Ben Finney
Howdy all,

This week, the Debian Angling Association makes its presence known
through a representative member.

The Debian Packages link on the home page lets you search for the
fishing gear we have on offer. On the right of the package's page
the Developer Information link should bring you up-to-date on
whether a particular rod or line is in stock.

[…]
Whatever you do, please read our brochures; we stand by their
accuracy and will accept and respond to complaints if you are
dissatisfied with our service.

The unofficial Gopher extension to RFC 1149? I guess that would get to
many places unreachable by the official standard.

Some developers evidently hold to the belief that Lintian is a deity to
be appeased through package changes, without objective justification of
those changes.

I'm having so much fun with the translation of the text, I don't think I

Thanks to those who spotted the deliberate mistake in the above. I meant

Silly rabbit. Surely it's obvious to everyone here that those timestamp

18:20 on the 4th of February in the year 15 (of the current century).

(Incidentally, those who wondered why anyone would want digest mode on

irritating to be subscribed to d-c for the fun bits, but then when an
interesting thread comes along to be pinged many times a day as these
low-priority messages come through. Setting digest mode ensures there
will never be more than one such message a day, far preferable to simply
unsubscribing.)

I agree. I just got through re-vamping the lists.debian.org code, and
it's all fixed so that you can toggle digest mode on any list.

Thanks very much for this.

Now, all you have to do to set the digest flag on any list you're
subscribed to is send the following command to the list address:

LIST-DAEMON COMMAND {{ DIGEST MODE FLAG TRUE TOGGLE }} STOP END

To clarify, surely this should be sent to the list's -request address,
i.e. [EMAIL PROTECTED], rather than the list itself? It's
rather confusing to have a list control message that is sent *in-band*,
when we've been working so hard to educate list newbies to send them to
an out-of-band address :-)
