Messages delayed on packages.debian.org?

2007-03-20 Thread Christian Perrier
Dear Debian admins,

I again suspect some delays in mail delivery for messages sent to
package@packages.debian.org

I use such addresses quite extensively during my own various jihads
such as l10n updates or the newly founded debconf rewrite project
aaimed at proofreading all debconf templates.

As of last Sunday, I sent a test mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]. geneweb being a package of mine, I'd
expect the mail to be delivered to me a few minutes/hours after.

Indeed, nearly two days after, I still didn't get this mail.

May someone check the mail queue on whatever host is involved?

Several weeks ago (back in January, IIRC), Joerg Jaspert did flush the
mail queue on some host a few times after I reported the same issue.

In case something is discovered, I suggest this issue to get some
attention by the Debian admins, as it may affect severely the way to
communicate with package maintainers on a reliable way.

Yes, because a well written web frontend for a specific task is more
secure than a general purpose shell account.

While I do not claim to be a security expert, I was trying to address a
few points: the need for ssh access which is a current privilege for
DDs. I assume that physical access is not a big problem for Debian
infrastructure and that external attacks are being guarded against. This
leaves local access. If local access is reduced to those who need it (by
my idea DM's would not normally need this) and common tasks can be made
'more secure' by making them done through a web interface (w/ ssl), this
would eliminate possible human error (rm -rf or similar) and increase
security by limiting access to DDs.

But I have yet to receive any guess as to the amount of local ssh access
that is used by DDs. If 99% of DDs need ssh access that requires a
random set of commands, then this will not work. But if only 10% of DDs
need ssh access, then it would be beneficial and would advance the idea
of have DC/DMs not needing ssh access and inclusion in the keyring and
a local user account created by DAM? (the last step in NM?) and allowing
a separation based upon need, security, skill and responsibility.

OpenOCD is an on-chip debugging, in-system programming and boundary-scan
testing tool.

The debugger uses an IEEE 1149-1 compliant JTAG TAP bus master to access
on-chip debug functionality available on ARM7 and ARM9 based
microcontrollers / system-on-chip solutions.

User interaction is realized through a telnet command line interface and
a gdb (The GNU Debugger) remote protocol server.

OpenOCD supports various different types of JTAG interfaces/programmers:
 * Parallel port wigglers
 * Amontec JTAG Accelerator
 * FTDI FT2232 based USB devices
 * USBJTAG
 * OOCD-Link
 * Amontec JTAGkey
 * Amontec JTAGkey-Tiny
 * Olimex ARM-USB-OCD
 * eVerve Signalyzer

It also supports a number of different ARM cores:
 * ARM7TDMI(-s)
 * ARM9TDMI
 * ARM920t
 * ARM922t
 * ARM966e

Support for Intel XScale CPUs (PXA25x, PXA27x and IXP4xx) is currently
being developed.

   * Non-maintainer upload.
   * High-urgency upload for RC bugfix.

 this version of csound makes many 32-bit assumptions that render the
 package unusable.  Closes: #414660.

 clean, and remove csound/csound.xmg by hand since nothing seems to
 take care of this on clean.

Saludos.
