Re: Intent to package intel-rng-tools.
As long as it isn't too bothersome for you, would you mind explaining why the kernel doesn't activate it by default? Or why it isn't a `make config' option? And why is a daemon needed for it? No, its not bothersome to explain. This extract comes from 2.4.4's Documentation/i810_rng.txt. I also read about the decision of moving the rng to userland, but I can't find that now. Introduction: The i810_rng device driver is software that makes use of a special hardware feature on the Intel i8xx-based chipsets, a Random Number Generator (RNG). In order to make effective use of this device driver, you should download the support software as well. Download the latest version of the intel-rng-tools package from the i810_rng driver's official Web site: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gkernel/ -- And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Hello all, I plan to package vcdimager. From the README : This is GNU VCDImager, a VideoCD image mastering tool. This package contains GNU VCDRip, a VideoCD ripping tool, for ripping mpeg streams from VideoCD images and showing VideoCD information about the image. Project Gutenberg
Hello, I was wondering that the work done by Project Gutenberg (http://sailor.gutenberg.org) should be made available through debian. It would be great to use 'apt' to get all the great work done there. It shouldn't be difficult at all to package. trouble with portmap on diskless machines
Hi, I have a cluster of diskless machines. I've followed the instructions in the diskless package, and the machines boot up as a result. The diskless package is simply great. I'd spent a whole lot of time making SuSE remote boot and thats what I have to use until i get Debian working properly. NIS doesn't work on the diskless machines. After some looking around, I figured that it was the portmapper that really wasn't working. It shows up in the ps listing, and there are no errors reported during bootup for portmap. But rpcinfo -p localhost says 'RPC: Remote System error - Connection refused' and ypbind says 'Neigbour table overflow'. Please reply straight to me, as I'm not on the list, yet. viral
