OK, thanks; I considered that, but wasn't sure it was focused enough.
(Granted, -devel isn't that focused either, but it is more
   developer-oriented.)

That list should be a porters list, even though it's more abused

Aren't the other arch lists like that used by users? I know
 debian-powerpc is, at least.

So is -68k. Which is why m68k-build exists (and #344551 ;-)

Yee-ha! This makes a wonderful (if moderately belated) first birthday
present for my em64t workstation. :-)

One question, though: what's the contact address for the new buildd's
administrators? I tried [EMAIL PROTECTED] (to call #359023 to their
attention), but it bounces.

I've requested the binNMU to be done, it should probably get
build tomorrow somewhere.

For now I suggest you contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Both debian-amd64 and debian-pure64? Great, thanks.

They are just aliases for the same thing since always.

Oh, this wasn't clear from the FAQ. Fortunately, all this is now OBE.

Can you remeber to close this bug when maintainer uploads for amd64
 get enabled?

It would also be interesting to know which AMD64 architecture variants
permit seamless upgrades to the official AMD64 version.

Anything that runs from current amd64.debian.net or its mirrors.

The archive just gets rebuild to make sure all packages are build
exclusively from debian sources on the official buildd and signed by
a buildd admin. The amd64.debian.net archive still has packages build
by non Debian Developers (just Debian-amd64 team members).

 Hi all,

   binutils | 2.16.1cvs20060117-1 | unstable | source, alpha, amd64, [...]

Over the next couple of days, the rest of build-essential will be rebuilt,
followed by the rest of the archive. You should be able to watch the
 progress somewhat via:

   http://ftp-master.debian.org/size-quarter.png

and of course build logs will show up on http://buildd.debian.org/ in
the usual manner. amd64 will appear on the regular buildd graphs in a
 couple of weeks or so.

Note that in order to ensure we get consistent dependencies, maintainer
uploads of amd64 packages are currently blocked, and will remain that
way until the archive's rebuilt; if at that point you're considering
building amd64 binaries yourself for upload, please do upgrade to the
 official unstable first.
