Hi,

debian-edu-install refers to etcinsvk in several places. This package
is already uninstallable because svk was removed from Debian[1],
and is scheduled for removal[2] itself.

Regards,
Ansgar

   * Extend edu-etcvcs to install etckeeper if etcinsvk is unavailable
(Closes: #571809). Always enable etckeeper, as it is a lot quicker
 than etcinsvk.
   * Make sure errors are not ignored in the preinst. Thanks to lintian
 for noticing this.
   * Rephrase package description for debian-edu-install-udeb, to make it
more obvious for lintian that this is an empty package.

Bug#570773: squeeze: LDAP connections using TLS do not work

2010-04-26 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
severity 570773 normal
thanks

[Petter Reinholdtsen]
I have added some test code to testsuite/ldap-server in svn to
detect when that happen, and hope it will make it posible to verify
 my suspicion.

I've now verified that LDAP and TLS work when not installing on a
network where the ldap DNS name already is defined. Because of this,
I lower the severity to normal.

I believe we should still look at making the certificate handling more
robust.

Happy hacking,

Bug#579290: debian-edu-config: Please convert init.d script to use lsb functions for output

2010-04-26 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: debian-edu-config
Version: 1.438
User: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
UserTags: debian-edu

When using debian-edu-config with the progress bar and console in
usplash, no message show up when its init.d scripts are started.

The reason is that the init.d script do not use the output functions
in /lib/lsb/init-functions, but uses echo directly. usplash override
the functions in /lib/lsb/init-functions to feed the text into the
graphical boot screen, and thus depend on the use of the lsb output
functions.

Please change the init.d scripts to use the lsb output functions.

Happy hacking,
