Bug#669179: eglibc: please update ld.so manpages
Source: eglibc Version: 2.13-27 Severity: wishlist Hello, please update the ld.so manapges for libc6 as shipped by Debian. They seem to be fairly outdated and do not reflect what our ld.so currently supports. I was just surprised to find out that LD_SHOW_AUXV is documented, but not in our version of the manual. A guy using AMD64 told me in IRC that he can't reproduce the problem too. Upgrading mrss didn't trigger the issue here, I updated libc6 some days after mrss and it worked in the meantime. #420012 bug in libmrss or in glibc?
Hi, http://bugs.debian.org/420012 is currently twisting my head. http://people.debian.org/~nion/nb-bt-full-complete.txt shows that this is no bug in the newsbeuter package. I don't really understand why the encoding variable is out of bounds and didn't find out with a quick look into libmrss code. What makes me wonder is that a recompile solves the issue. The bug doesn't appear with version 2.3.6... of glibc but with the new version in unstable 2.5. If the recompile solves the issue I am curious how this is a bug in libmrss or newsbeuter since the mrss version didn't change. Is it possible that it's a bug in libc? Any help is appreciated since I don't know how to do further debugging here. To reproduce this bug install newsbeuter (with 2.3.6.ds1-13 of libc6 installed), echo "http://synflood.at/blog/index.php?/feeds/index.rss2";>~/.newsbeuter/urls, start newsbeuter, press R to reload. This will work without any problem. Then update to 2.5-3 of libc6, start newsbeuter, press R and see it crashing :) Kind regards Nico P.S. Bug#269382: libc6: false update from stable to testing
Package: libc6 Version: 2.2.5-11.5 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable hi, the libc6 update from stable to testing doesnt work correct. the script /etc/init.d/mountkernfs has been renamed in /etc/init.d/mountvirtfs so you havnt got any pty after the update. the solution is to instal initscripts new after install and then /etc/init.d/mountvirtfs is there and it works correctly. kind regards Nico Golde -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux pima.hostsharing.net 2.6.7 #1 SMP Sat Jul 10 23:26:36 CEST 2004 i686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], LC_CTYPE=en_US -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
